Chapter 38
"Come" Was all he said before walking towards the room”s exit. What the f**k is wrong with him? I don't know why he decided to open my cage. I stepped out and followed the direction he went. Zaid was giving me apologetic looks, but I shook my head, letting him know it was okay.
Nick is soo tall, and any time I stand beside him. I feel down to earth. I can't keep up with him. He's heading to the castle's exit, that, I know, but he's walking too fast. I thought of calling his name but dismissed the idea. He looked angry when he left the room, the last thing I want to do is be one he'll transfer his aggression on. I can only get to him by running so I started, I strode down the hall as fast as I can, all the maids and guards were looking at me as if I was psycho. If it weren't that Nick was somewhere around, they wouldn't hesitate to slice my throat off. Ugh, the dumb asses.
“Nicholas,” I said when I finally got to where he was. He was seated on a wooden chair in the garden. I have always loved this garden but never got the opportunity to see it up close. It's beautiful, filled with flowers and running water. It's the most peaceful place in this castle and it's less spooky.
“Nick, thanks for this." I said, raising the phone in my hand.
“It really made my day.“ I added, feeling a bit weird with the silence.
“Make sure you follow Dimitri's rules." Was his dry, cold remark. Ugh, did he mean Dimitri's rule or his rule. He stretched his hands to my face and for a moment, I thought he was going to strangle me. Did I mention how intimidating his presence is? He's like a handsome scary beast. He didn't strangle me. He just touched my neck lightly, almost like he wasn't even touching it. His hand went to where he hurt me the first time we met touching the scars he said.
“Just follow whatever it is Dimitri tells you to. That way, we can avoid getting such scars." How cruel. He's trying to tell me that he'll hurt me like this again if I try to get help. Humph
“Now, I want you to show me what you've learned from our last lesson." He said changing the topic. If it's what you are thinking, Nick has been giving me vampire lessons. Although we all know it's not necessary, he does it anyway. It probably helps him forget the shit my sister caused and all the pressure about that dumb stone.
“Nick, I don't think I'm ready for this.“ I said timidly. Being shy or scared is not my thing, but with Nicholas, one can't be brave all the time no matter how brave you are, you'll feel cowardy and fearful once in a while.
“Well, I didn't ask if you are ready or not. I just said, show me!“ He bit, making me jerk back a little. I knew this whole shitty training was just a way to let his f**king anger out.
“Well, I don't want to show you, sensei! I don't want to do that stupid hunting and feeding shit! I don't want to drink blood. I don't want to be a freaking dumb disgusting vampire!“ I didn't know when I let that all out, and I didn't regret it either. He's such an ass and dealing with him is so unbearable. I don't want all this shit just as I said. At this moment wish he'd listen. I only wish he'll let me go home, or at least, let me go to Zaid. In a swift movement, he stood up to where I just was and dragged my wrist. He held it tightly and squeezed it really hard.
“Why are you doing this?“ I managed to yell. He was hurting me, and his face looked blank as if he wasn't doing anything.
“What?“ He asked in a composed tune. You won't believe he's the same person hurting my wrist.
“Everything! Why are you making me do all this vampire stuff? I'm supposed to be a prisoner, but you are bent on training me. I'm not even useful to you. I was supposed to be bait but my f**ked up sister f**ked up. You're meant to kill me or free me, but no, you choose to keep me here doing nothing!" I know it's a really long speech, but I can't help it. I'm tired of all this playing around. Nick didn't say anything, he just kept staring at me, his hands still gripping my wrist. I felt wetness and looked down at my now bleeding wrist.“Ni_ ick, you are hurting me.“ I stammered.
He looked down and noticed the blood flowing. He slowly left my wrist, but his eyes were still on me. The colors started changing from ebony to mousy. And it reminded me of the time we first met, when he threatened to kill me but changed his mind, his eye color changed rapidly from ebony to grassy green, just like the other time. He didn't have the cold, blank look anymore. It was replaced with something else, something I can't really tell, something like confusion.
“Nick, what's wrong with you?“ I asked, still looking into his eyes.
“Nick?“
"Guards, send the doctor.“ He said totally ignoring me. Then, out of no where, he raised me in his hands. Carrying me princess style, he rushed back to the office. We got there in no time and met the doctor waiting there already. Nick was still holding me, and I couldn't help but stare at his well built face up close. It baffles me to see how properly built his body is, soo strong and manly...
"My, my, you are going to lose a lot of blood. Come here” the doctor said, gaining my attention. Nick dropped me roughly on one of the Sofas and left immediately. He hasn't said a word since we were downstairs.
.“Is something the matter son?“ The doctor said this time, to Nick, as he started attending to my hands.
The first thing that hit my brain was that he is Nick's father. However, I quickly discarded that thought. Calling him son doesn't make him his son, technically. And by the way, if Nick had a father, it won't be this cheeky looking old man with a lab coat. Rather, it'll be someone as scary as nick. (that is if anyone can be as scary as him). Nick didn't reply to the man's concerned question. He just walked out of the room with that confused look, still evident on his face.
“What's wrong with him?“ he asked while wrapping the injury with a bandage. “I don't know.“ I said plainly.
“Well, whatever it is, I'm sure he can handle it.“
“Yeah I guess so.“ Was my reply, even though I wasn't sure
.“Now let's not get ourselves entangled in a Vampire prince's issues. Tell me what your name is.“
“Ken_ dra" I said, not fully comfortable with the man. Even though he looked harmless and hearty, I was still wary of anyone In this castle.
“That's a beautiful name dear. I'm Khalil Ahmet.“
“Arab?“ I asked getting interested.
"Something like that, I'm from Turkey.“ He said with that same warm smile.
“Trust me, Ardelean is not a bad person. Sometimes he can be too much, but I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay once you get to know him.“
“Hmmm, easy for you to say, you're not the one caged as a vampire's pet.“ I mumbled under my breath.
“Well, child, it hasn't always been like that." He said, his genuine smile, not leaving his face even for a moment
“What do you mean?“
