Unspoken Love

Chapter 22 You Are Not Worthy to Be Luna's Mother, Not to Mention Cindy's G

Brodie went crazy. Of course, it would be better to say that he fell into an unprecedented state of paranoia and suffered the worst collapse. He worked day and night, as if he devoted all his attention into his work.

He rarely stopped. Once he stopped, memories would come back to him. Sometimes, they were the different gifts he had received from Luna when they just fell in love, though the gifts were quite common among lovers. Sometimes, he recalled the painful struggle and helplessness on Luna's face that he had neglected since they broke up. Sometimes, he simply thought about the peaceful time with Luna after she came back.

Steve knew that Brodie managed to escape by work.

It was not until Ariana being sentenced to prison that Brodie was reminded of Jason. "Where's Jason? Did you find him?"

"No. Since Miss Covey passing away, he has disappeared."

However, Brodie was trying to catch some signs to indicate that Luna was still alive. He stubbornly said, "Do you believe that Luna is still alive? If not, a gangster like Jason will definitely make a trouble for me." Steve didn't reply.

Brodie said, "Step up your efforts to find out Jason and Luna."

A madman.

Steve thought, ' Mr. Melton is truly crazy.'

To look for Jason was one thing, but how could Brodie find a ghost?

Company meeting.

Brodie seemed to be absent-minded.

When the manager of Marketing Department finished his speech, Brodie still frowned, as if he had lost his soul and did not criticize the report.

It was very rare.

Normally, Brodie would be strict. If anyone made a tiny mistake in the meeting, he would point it out right away, which would make that person feel desperately ashamed. However, Brodie, who had always been harsh and demanding, actually was distracted at the meeting.

Steve nudged Brodie.

Brodie then pulled his wandering mind back into the meeting and whispered, "OK. Let's follow your plan."

As he spoke, he stood up and left.

Everyone looked at each other. It was the first time they had seen Brodie finish the meeting so carelessly.

After the meeting, Brodie would go to the neighboring city to discuss an important project which was related to several departments. Before leaving, Steve hesitated for the bad temper shown through the grey shadow beneath Brodie's eyelids. Eventually, he boldly told Brodie a piece of news.

"Jessica and that child have been brought back. Mr. Melton, are you sure you don't want to see her?"

There was a child.

If the child was really Brodie's, he might cheer up a little.

Actually, Steve reckoned that this child must be Brodie's. If not, Jason would have hidden and raised her. How could he allow Brodie to bring Jessica and this child back from the other side of the ocean? Brodie remained silent for a while.

Then he said, "Alright. Take her home."

"Yes, sir. I'll pick her up."

"OK. Tell me when you arrive. I ... will be back then."

"Yes."

He became Brodie's confidant, because he excelled in handling things. When Steve met the child at the airport, she looked very weak. She held her hand with Jessica timidly, as if she was at a loss in such a strange world.

Steve saw Jessica and said coldly, "Mr. Melton said, you can do whatever you want. But you are no longer allowed to act like Cindy's grandmother."000
