Unlawful Affair With Asher Williams

Chapter 37

Raymond POV

I had a really tough day at work yesterday because of the appointments and everything I had to attend to, but seeing Adelie by my side made me a bit relieved.

It's another day to go to the office and start my usual routine. I woke up a few minutes ago after my alarm rang, but Adelie is still sleeping peacefully. Having her sleeping by my side for the past two days has been the sweetest thing that ever happened to me. I feel myself falling in love over and over again, because why not?

Stepping out of the bathroom after I spent some minutes having my bath there, I find her sitting on the bed with her fingers stuck inside her rough-looking hair. She still looks so cute.

"Good morning, baby," I smile at her excitedly, and she tilts her head to look at me. Her eyes are a bit swollen, which means that she's still feeling sleepy.

"Good morning," She whines sleepily, laying back on the bed, and I sigh briefly. She must be so tired from work yesterday.

"Did you sleep well?" I ask her as I walk over to the closet to get my neatly ironed clothes.

"Yes, I did. Are you getting ready for work already?" She whines in her sleep, and I hum as I finally pick up the cloth and drop them on the bed.

"Rhea already made breakfast. Do you want me to bring your inside?" I ask her as I walk over to the dresser to start getting ready for work.

"No, I will eat in the dining room," She replies to me.

"Come on, baby. You have to wake up so the food won't get cold," Casting her another look, I find her struggling to wake up, and she finally did after a few minutes.

"I still want to sleep," She whines as she drags herself from the bed and walks sluggishly toward the bathroom.

"You can sleep all you want when you get to the office later," I assure her before she dashes into the bathroom.

"Ray, aren't you coming down for breakfast?" Rhea's voice sounds from outside a few minutes later.

"I'll be with you in a few minutes," I reply to her, and her receding footsteps echo along the hallway, which only means that she has gone back to the dining room.

Since Adelie is not yet back from the bathroom, I pick up my phone from the dresser and walk out of the room, heading to the dining.

"Good morning, mom," I hug my mom as soon as I arrive at the dining room, and she smiles at me.

"Did you have a lovely night's rest?" She asks beaming with a smile, and I know what she meant by that. She may be thinking that I had sex with Adelie over the night, but I don't really want to rush things, so I have been really careful with her. I don't want to make her feel like I only want her for sex. It hasn't been easy trying to resist around her, but I'm still doing my best, because I love her.

"Yes, mom. I did," I reply to her casually as I resume eating. I just want her to stop talking about it, and maybe change the topic but I know she would never do that.

"Really? Tell me about it," She squeaks excitedly, and I roll my eyes at her.

"Come on, mom. You shouldn't know stuffs like that, you know? This is my private life, and besides, Adelie will be embarrassed if she finds out that I tell you about it," I lie to her, and she scoffs as she rolls her eyes.

"Your sister tells me everything, why are you so different and difficult?" She huffs angrily, and I roll my eyes.

"It's not that I ever wanted to tell you, anyway. You literally forced me to always spill the beans, so what was I supposed to do?" Rhea chips in, and she scoffs.

"But you enjoyed sharing it with me, didn't you?" She says to Rhea, and I shake my head. My mom and sister are two same people that have absolutely nothing different with them. What was I expecting? She gave birth to her, so I shouldn't expect less.

"You should maintain table manners, you two," I roll my eyes at them.

"Stop acting like you're the dad of the house, and just eat," Mom says to me, and I huff. This woman is funny and crazy, but guess what? I love her so much.

The sound of the footsteps descending the staircase pulls my attention, and as I tilt my head to find my woman there, my mouth drops open in shock at the beauty that welcomes me. Adelie is one woman I can never get enough of or get used to her beauty. She's just like the brightest star in the sky that gets all the attention. She has the perfect body shape that drives me crazy and makes me so happy that she is mine. What the hell would I have done if she had rejected me then? Maybe I wouldn't have ever remained the same again.

"You are drooling, Ray. Mom is going to stuff something inside your mouth if you don't close it," I hear Rhea's faint voice, but I'm fucking long gone and lost in staring at my gorgeous woman.

Suddenly, I feel a cold liquid substance sprinkle on my face, bringing me back to reality, and goodness! Mom just sprinkled water on my face.

"What the hell was that, mom?" I whine at her, and she rolls her eyes.

"You're making me jealous. Your dad never looked at me like that," She whines as she cups her cheeks in her palms, pouting her lips.

"Maybe because you are too annoying," I smirk at her before I quickly stand up and pull the chair out for Adelie to sit on.

"Thank you," She smiles at me as she sits on it.

"That's so mean, Ray," Mom whines, and I roll my eyes as I sit back in my chair.

"Good morning, ma'am. Good morning, Rhea," Adelie greets them politely.

"Good morning, sweetheart. You look so gorgeous as always. I'm so jealous of you," Mom whines, and I roll my eyes.

"Thanks, ma'am," She replies to her.

"No, call me mom, please. I'm going to be your mother-in-law after all. You should start learning it now," Mom says, and I blush hard. I love the sound of that. It'll really be a dream come true for me, having her as my wife. I'll forever be happy when that happens.

"Alright, mom," She replies to mom, and my heart flutters. I think I'm going to explode soon because of excitement. I feel so elated and over the moon like I'd just won a lottery. She's so cute. "Wow! So cute!" Mom whispers as she smiles sheepishly. This woman is crazy, cute, and so loving.

Silence assumes the atmosphere as we start eating.

"So, when are you two getting married?" Mom suddenly asks out of the blue, and Adelie chokes on her food. What the hell did she just say? Marriage? When the hell did we start dating?
