Uncovering My Wife's Secrets

Chapter 395

Heather brought Lee to the house where she used to live.
One of the most important reasons that attracted her to buy the house back then was that it had front and back courtyards.
Heather planted a lot of orchids in the yard.
Seventeen years had passed, and they were probably all dead.
It didn’t matter.
Heather didn’t come here today to look at flowers.
She came over to get her things and see if they were still there.
When they reached the door, they realized that although the house was dilapidated, the lock on the door seemed to have been
newly replaced.
Kent had come before them? The decided to go in and take a look first.
Heather reached out and pulled the lock.
“Should we break the door?” Lee asked.
“Yes,” Heather replied.
“Come, stand over here in case any wood chips hit you,” Lee said as he gently pulled Heather to the side.
After Heather stood to the side, Lee retreated and then made a dart for the door, landing a kick on it.
The door didn’t break.
Bang! again, kicking even harder than before.
The lock clicked open.
What greeted him was a musty smell.
Lee immediately turned around and covered Heather’s mouth and nose.

“Heather, stay away.
The smell is strong.
I’ll go get a mask from the car.” He quickly ran over to get the mask and personally put it on Heather.
Afraid that the moldy smell would suffocate her, he even specially put three masks on her.
Heather’s heart warmed as she watched Lee do this for her.
She could not help but smile.
When they were in love, she had wondered if their relationship would always be good.
Would they be able to withstand the dull years? What would it be like when they were old? Would they become a pair of resentful
couples like most people? Or rather, their relationship turned from love to kinship.
They just cared for and took care of each other with no passion.
Unexpectedly, after 20 years, they were still the same as before.
It was probably because they had lost each other before that they cherished each other even more.
They were more courageous to express their true thoughts.
After putting on the mask, Lee led Heather in and said, “Heather, let’s not stay for too long.
The smell of mold is too strong.
It’s not good for your health.” “Yes,” Heather replied.
She pulled Lee and went straight to the study.
Heather found that the lock of the desk drawer had been unlocked.
She thought of the photo album that Lee had.
shown her when she lost her memory.
It was in her drawer.

Heather turned to the bookshelf.
Many of the books on the shelves had turned yellowish pale, and some even had black mold spots.
Heather reached out to take the book, but Lee immediately stopped her.
“Heather, let me do it.
Tell me which book you want.” Heather smiled and said in a soft voice, “There should be a folder behind this row of books.” If it
hadn’t been removed by Kent, the folder should still be there.
“Alright.” Lee followed Heather’s instructions and brought down a row of books.
Sure enough, there was a folder at the back.
“Do you want a folder?” Lee asked.
“Yes,” Heather replied.
Lee took down a few folders.
There were fine beads of water on the film.
folder He flipped it open and found that the paper inside was also moldy Heather took the folder and flipped through it on the
desk.
There were some unimportant documents in the folder.
However, there was one that was probably very important to Kent.
Heather quickly rummaged through the documents.
Lee immediately asked, “Heather, what are you looking for? I’ll help you look for it.” “I found it.” Heather found the document.
It was an IOU! Bethany borrowed money from her in the year she gave birth.
It was 140,000 dollars for Bethany’s brother to study abroad.
On the JOU, Kent and Bethany had both signed their names on it.

It was an IOU written by Bethany herself.
According to it, she needed to pay back the money in three years, and if she failed to repay it on time, this house would belong to
Heather.
She knew what Bethany was thinking.
To put it bluntly, Bethany wanted to take 140,000 dollars directly from her.
This was because Bethany knew very well that although this house was under Kent’s name, it was actually funded by Heather.
How could Heather let Kent return the house she bought for him? Bethany also knew that Heather would not let them return the
money at all.
Heather made a fortune back then, and Bethany assumed that it was no big deal for Heather to give a house to her.
Things were different now.
Now Heather had to settle the score.
Heather was not a goddess.
Bethany and Kent still wanted to repair their relationship after hurting her child.
Dream on! Just then, Lee received another call from Kent.
Seeing the caller ID, Lee pressed the speaker button and answered indifferently, “Hello?” “Lee, which hotel are you guys going to
stay tonight?” Kent’s tone was filled with flattery.
“Does it have anything to do with you?” Lee asked.
Kent was speechless.
His heart was filled with grievance and remorse! Kent smiled and said, “Lee, I’m back.
Shall I treat you to supper tonight?!” “No need,” Lee said calmly.
“Is there anything else?” “Kent, it’s like this.

I want to see my sister.
After all, we haven’t seen each other for 17 years.
Well, I had thought that she was gone.
Otherwise, I would have kept looking for her too,” Kent said with a sigh.
Lee looked at Heather.
Heather nodded slightly.
Lee raised his wrist to check the time and replied blandly into the phone, “OK.” Ken was overjoyed.
“Alright, alright.
Lee, let’s have supper at Halo River Restaurant at 10:30 pm.” Halo River Restaurant’s supper was the most famous and high-
end.
It was an open-air restaurant near Halo River.
The seafood there was all fresh with incredible varieties... “Okay.” Lee had no interest in where to go for supper.
He and Heather were both recuperating now and rarely eat at night.
Heather put away the IOU and pulled Lee.
“Let’s go.
to the backyard and take a look.” She actually wanted to see how the flowers in her backyard were, but she did not dare to have
too much hope.
The two of them went to the backyard.
The backyard was open-air and did not smell of mold.
Exposed to wind, rain, and sunlight, much of the orchids Heather planted were extremely vigorous.
Some flowerpots were rotten, and orchids grew out of them.

Wherever there was soil, they would take root and germinate.
There were much more flourishing than when Heather was there before.
At this moment, a few orchids had bloomed, sending forth a delicate fragrance.
“We’ll take them with us,” Lee said.
Looking at these orchids, Heather felt a wave of satisfaction sweeping over her.
“Okay.” They would surely take the orchids away.
Kent drove off at a furious pace.
After he got off the highway, there were many sections where the speed limit was 40.
Anxious and flustered, he simply ignored it and ran through red lights all the way to Halo River Restaurant.
When he made it there, Lee and Heather were already there.
They sat by the river and sipped their tea relaxingly.
When he saw them, Kent immediately went up to them with a fawning smile.
“Heather, Lee.” Heather looked over indifferently.
Kent thought that Heather was still in a state of amnesia.
He immediately said shamelessly, “Heather, I’m Kent, your brother.” Smack!
