Chapter 111. Turkey
Breaking News for Byzantium Traveller.
The Travellers have returned.
But not all. According to a Turkish Government spokesman, renowned Oxford academic and researcher in charge of the mission, Professor Adrian Taylor has remained as an honoured guest of the Byzantine Emperor. There he will continue his research of the Empire’s noble families.
Accompanying him is squad leader and Saxon Traveller, Captain Cameron McFee.
The most shocking part of this story is news of the tragic deaths of two of the Turkish Travellers, Sergeant Ahmet Uzun and Sergeant Hazan Mataraci, who were killed while on patrol with the Emperor’s Varangian Guard.
Details will be forthcoming but we can confirm that the remainder of the Traveller team have arrived home safely.
Because they were recognised by Emperor Basil II to be a favoured foreign delegation, their return saw them accompanied by a significant quantity of trade goods, including valuable textiles, dyes, and weapons.
A major media event is planned tomorrow, after the Travellers have been debriefed and rested.
So stay tuned as we bring more details of shocking developments regarding Byzantium Traveller.
