Twenty minutes later, at Merlin’s disciplinary office.
Evan heard Liora’s sobs as he approached the entrance.
“Why are you blaming me? He started calling me names first! I have a father!” Liora defended herself.
“You started a fight at such a young age, just like a troublemaker without a father! You even hurt my son. I
won’t rest until you’re expelled from school today!” August’s mother accused.

The disciplinary office staff tumed their heads simultaneously, shocked by his presence.
Liora rushed to Evan, crying, “Daddy! I’m not fatherless!”
“You’re still lying! Don’t try to claim someone as your father!” August retorted with a stuffy nose.
Evan exuded a commanding presence, making August’s mother quickly cover his mouth. She trembled as

Ignoring her, Evan turned to Liora, whose eyes were swollen from crying. He gently lifted her and
comforted her, “Don’t be scared. I’m here.”
Liora clung to Evan, sobbing. “I have a daddy. I’m not unwanted.”
Evan tenderly stroked Liora’s back and replied, “Yes, I know.”
It was a rare moment when Liora acknowledged him as her father, and Evan couldn’t help but feel a touch

of bitterness in his heart.
Turning his attention back to the arrogant mother and son, Evan asked, “Goop?”
Ursula swallowed nervously. “It’s our fault for starting the fight, Mr. Jordan. I’ll discipline my son!”

Evan probed further, “Is this considered a mild punishment? What about a more severe one?”
The disciplinary head was at a loss, as the punishment he mentioned was already quite severe. If a
student received two disciplinary records, no other school would accept them.

The deputy head of disciplinary nudged him and then told Evan, “The child will be expelled because
Merlin doesn’t tolerate students lacking basic manners like him.”
