Chapter 149
Marco furrowed his brow in his sleep as he felt something tickling his earlobe, causing him to finally brush it away before falling back asleep. However, after a while, something disturbed him again, whether it was a tickle on his nose, ear, or a puff of air. Marco slowly blinked his eyes open to see Letta smiling broadly at him. His wife was clearly intent on disrupting his morning, prompting Marco to reach out and playfully pinch Letta's cheek.
"Come on, I'm still sleepy. What time is it?" Marco asked, still closing his eyes, causing Letta to sigh in frustration.
"Come on, it's already noon. You should have been up a while ago," Letta replied, but Marco only responded with a murmur as if truly needing his sleep. Letta tried to tease her husband again, but it seemed like Marco was really holding back, as if not disturbed at all. Despite promising to take her for a walk, because Pedro had called him late at night, Marco had forgotten his promise to Letta.
"Come on, wake up. Didn't you promise last night to accompany me for a stroll?" Letta asked, making Marco murmur again.
"Did you forget?" Letta asked again.
"Let me sleep for another hour longer. I promise I'll get up after that," Marco said, making Letta roll her eyes lazily.
"If it gets any later, it'll get hotter outside," Letta whined.
"That's okay. Maybe it's better if we take a walk in the evening or at night. For now, let's just go back to sleep, keep me company," Marco said, causing Letta to look at him with an annoyed expression. "You promised to take me out for the whole day, not just in the evening or at night," Letta insisted.

"Fine, then I'll go for a walk alone, or maybe I'll meet your cousin Jacob. That's a good idea too," Letta said, making Marco shake his head with his eyes still closed.
"By the way, I've instructed five guards outside to watch this room so you can't leave," Marco said, making Letta truly annoyed.
"I can tell them that you've allowed me," Letta said again. However, out of nowhere, a walkie-talkie appeared in Marco's hand. He pressed it and immediately spoke to the five guards outside their room.
"Don't let my wife go out alone, I'm still sleeping," Marco said, before putting away the walkie-talkie in a random place. Letta closed her eyes, realizing that this approach wouldn't work either. She searched for another way, and an idea crossed her mind. Letta pulled the corner of her lips, feeling confident that this idea would truly work. She leaned in and gently blew on her husband's face. Not only that, Letta ran her fingers on Marco's bare chest as he habitually slept without a shirt. She also caressed his neck and finally kissed him softly, playing with her tongue on Marco's lips.
Marco remained silent for a moment before finally opening his eyes wide, clearly showing his sleep deprivation. Letta smiled satisfactorily as Marco gazed at her with a sharp and somewhat frustrated look.
"You're not just waking me up, love. You're waking up the one down there too," Marco said, making Letta shrug nonchalantly.
"I don't care. What's clear is that you're awake now and it seems you can't close your eyes again. You better clean yourself up now and take me wherever you want," Letta said, making Marco fall silent as he observed his wife, still in her bathrobe. Letta appeared to have finished freshening up, and the fresh scent of her body was still clearly detectable to Marco. Her semi-damp hair also looked enticing before Marco, who wanted to reach out to pull Letta into his embrace. However, Letta stepped back, as if she had foreseen her husband's plan.
"Nope. You have to clean yourself up. I know you'll pounce on me for sure," Letta guessed, standing by the bed across from Marco, making Marco rub his face in frustration. Marco then turned his body over, lying on his stomach, burying his face in the pillow.
"Come on, if you want me to get up, at least satisfy me first. You've awakened this little guy, and it won't be easy for me to go back to sleep," Marco said angrily, making Letta shrug nonchalantly.
"Consider it a punishment for you for breaking your promise," Letta said, making Marco look up.
"Come on, I didn't break my promise. I just wanted to sleep longer," Marco said.
"Who asked you to go out and come back in the early hours just because of a phone call from Pedro? You should have chosen to sleep by my side," Letta said, still annoyed because last night she waited for Marco who didn't return and she had to sleep alone until Marco came back.
"Don't tell me you're upset because I left you last night," Marco said, making Letta just avert her gaze.
"Of course, I'm mad. You shouldn't have met Pedro last night," Letta said, making Marco finally sit up and lean against the headboard of the bed.
"Come on, last night Pedro said there was something important I had to take care of, so I had to meet him. There were indeed a few issues, and I could only resolve them after the early hours," Marco said, making Letta fall silent while folding her hands. Although Letta knew that she and Marco came to Chicago for work, she felt annoyed when Marco kept leaving her, perhaps due to her hormones making her easily irritable.
Letta then picked out the clothes she would wear. "I don't want to hear any excuses from you. What's clear is that last night you promised me to take me out for a walk," Letta said, looking at Marco through the reflection in front of her in the mirror.
"What if we go for a walk in the evening? The weather will probably be nice too," Marco suggested, making Letta shake her head.
"No, besides, there are many places we need to visit. You already promised to take me for the whole day, which means from morning until night, you have to take me to different places," Letta insisted.
"Isn't that too long? What if you get tired?" Marco asked.
"I can rest in the car. Besides, if I'm really excited about the outing, any tiredness will probably be minimal," Letta said, seemingly having a thousand reasons to demand Marco to keep his promise. Marco finally rubbed his face roughly and began to lower his feet from the bed. He looked at Letta, who was holding a brightly colored dress.
"Don't wear that dress, it's open at the back," Marco said, making Letta look at the back of her dress.
"Is it? I don't think so, it looks nice. I'm going to wear it," Letta said with a wide smile, making Marco look at his wife with raised eyebrows, as if his wife was testing his emotions. Marco could only rub his face roughly.
