To Be Yours Again novel (Alec and Jenny)

Chapter 1251 Be Careful in the Future

In the following days, Jenny went to work as usual. However, she would check in on Leonard every day. Although Leonard was not her patient, he was her best friend's boyfriend. She had to watch out. If anything happened to him, Stephanie would have her head.

Thankfully, Leonard healed up quickly. He was ready to be discharged in a week.

The day he was discharged, Jenny saw him and Stephanie walking together. Their relationship blossomed during the days of his hospitalization. They had obviously fallen more in love with each other. "You can go back to work, Jenny. I'll send him back," Stephanie said.

Jenny nodded and looked at Leonard. "Be careful in the future. You may not care about your life, but you must consider how others will feel."

"I know." Leonard knew what Jenny meant by that, and he had nothing to say in return. He felt that she was right.

Jenny only went back to work after she watched them leave.

It was busy in the neurology department. Jenny had already spent some time in Bardoff Hospital, and because of her skill and the fact that none of her surgeries failed, the list of patients waiting to see her grev longer and longer.

All of a sudden, she became a celebrity doctor at Bardoff Hospital. Many people lined up to see her.

Jenny didn't mind. She would attend to anyone who went to her. If the line grew longer, she'd just take longer going through them; conversely, if there weren't a lot of people coming in, she'd get off work early. It didn't affect her very much.

However, it affected Alec greatly.

At eight in the evening, Alec felt worried when he saw that there were still a few patients in Jenny's office. Jenny's office hours were getting longer and longer. If this went on, she'd be burned out. Hence, once Jenny was done with all her patients, he said, "From tomorrow onward, you cannot take on any extra patients."

Every doctor had a fixed threshold of people they could attend to in a day, but Jenny often took pity on the patients and agreed to treat any and every person who came knocking, resulting in longer office hours.

There were numerous outpatients as well, and if she didn't attend to them, the surgeries would pile up. It was a long time since they'd had any semblance of a date together.

"These patients are mostly from out of town. If I don't attend to them now, their treatments will be delayed by another day. Besides their conditions worsening, they will have to pay for another day's worth of travel expenses." Jenny looked at him while saying that. It was because of this that she wanted to attend to them all. At least that way, she would save some of their time.

Alec understood what she meant, but he insisted. "You're going to collapse one day if you keep this up. Who will attend to them then?"

"But..."

"Listen to me. At most, I'll bring a few more doctors over," Alec said. He was determined.

Jenny considered it for a while and didn't argue with him. "Alright. With a few more doctors on board, the patients would at least be attended to by the other doctors."

They could see her if their conditions were serious. It wouldn't make much of an impact on things.

Seeing that she was okay with it, Alec sighed in relief. "Let's go, Dr. Walter. If not, we won't make it in time for dinner."

"Sorry for making you wait so long," Jenny said guiltily.

Alec shrugged. "My girlfriend is a doctor, after all. I have no choice but to wait."

Jenny smiled, saying nothing.
