Chapter 1235 I'm Serious
Alec and Jenny had the same thought-they both didn't think it was an accident.
"I guess great minds think alike. I've already asked Vincent to investigate this. We should have the results soon," Jenny said.
Alec nodded with a smile. "Jenny, you're capable in your own right. Even if something really happens to me in the future, I believe you can handle everything well."
"Alec!" Jenny's tone suddenly changed after he said that. She looked coldly at Alec with unprecedented seriousness. "You better not hold on to this idea. If you dare to have an accident again, I'll...I'll marry the person you hate the most!" she huffed, not really knowing how to threaten him.
Alec was amused by her words, but because he laughed too hard, he pulled his wound. Pain shot through him; his back and forehead instantly became drenched with sweat. "Heh...Who do you think is the person I hate the most right now?"
As the lights were dim, Jenny didn't see the cold sweat on Alec's forehead. Instead, she pondered his question seriously.
"Alfred?" Jenny wasn't sure, but considering it carefully, he seemed to be the most likely person.
Alec shook his head. "I used to hate him very much, but now, he's not the person I hate the most." "Then, who do you hate the most?" Jenny asked.
"Why? Do you really want to marry him?" Alec smirked with his eyes trained on Jenny.
Jenny pursed her lips. "I'm just curious."
Alec smiled slightly. "To be honest, I think I hate Evan the most."
"What? Why?" Jenny didn't expect it to be Evan. She hadn't thought about him for a long time since the last phone call she made to him after leaving Monaerim. She hoped they would never meet again. "Because he almost really made me lose you." Alec looked at Jenny and enunciated word by word.
During the time when Evan appeared, Alec panicked like never before.
At first, he was afraid that Jenny really liked Evan. Later, he was afraid that Jenny would take care of Evan for the rest of her life. When Evan took Jenny away, he was almost sure that he would never be able to get her back.
Fortunately, none of those things actualized in the end.
They looked at each other, and Jenny understood what Alec meant. She smiled and said, "Since you hate him so much, you better protect yourself. Otherwise, if you dare to get into an accident again, I'll go find him."
"Jenny," Alec called her name exasperatedly.
"Alec, I'm serious, so you better not have an accident again," Jenny reminded him once more, her tone stern and unyielding. Alec believed her and nodded. "Okay, I'll protect myself. We still have to be together for a lifetime, and I'm not willing to leave you." Jenny's cheeks turned red in an instant, and luckily, Alec couldn't see it. If not, Jenny would have been even more embarrassed. "Who wants to spend a lifetime with you? Dream on," Jenny snapped back and then lay down. "Go to sleep and rest well." "Sure." Alec didn't say anything else, but he'd already made up his mind.
After being discharged from the hospital, he would propose. This incident made him realize how afraid he was of losing Jenny. Since that was the case, he should tie her to himself and make her his as soon as possible.
Jenny had no way of knowing Alec's thoughts. If she knew that Alec was thinking about proposing at this time, she would probably not know how to react.
The two of them slowly fell asleep, and the hospital room fell into silence, waiting for dawn to arrive.
