Chapter 1211 I Can't Die
Jenny's words struck deep, and Faye's face instantly turned pale. She bit her lip, still unwilling to admit defeat. "My brother will explain everything, and I believe Alec won't hold it against us." "Is that so?" Jenny raised an eyebrow. "If you're so confident, then why did you come to see me today?"
"Well, I came to the hospital for a checkup. What else would I be here for?" Faye shot her a resentful look, which cracked Jenny up. Then, Faye took out her medical record and handed it to Jenny. "You performed my surgery, and I still trust your medical skills, Dr. Walter. So I hope you will take care of my follow-up treatment."
Jenny glanced through the medical record and said calmly, "Your condition seems stable, with no major issues. What do you need me to take care of?"
"With my condition, I'll need frequent checkups in the future. Since you're working at this hospital, I'll come directly to you if anything happens," Faye said with a smile.
Jenny put down the medical record and didn't refuse her. "Sure, no problem. As a doctor, I will treat every patient seriously."
"Dr. Walter, you really do separate your personal and professional matters clearly," Faye said, slightly mocking her.
Not intending to waste more time with her, Jenny asked, "Is there anything else? If not, you can leave. There are still many patients waiting."
"Jenny, aren't you worried about my return?" Faye couldn't contain herself.
Jenny glanced at her and sneered. "Where did you get the idea that I'd be worried?"
"Why wouldn't you? In the past, my family was inferior to yours, so I couldn't compete with you. But now, it's different. I am Miss Wardley, and my status is not inferior to yours," Faye felt that she could contend with Jenny.
Speechless, she shrugged her shoulders and said indifferently, "Since you're so confident, go ahead and give it a try."
If Alec chose Faye, Jenny would just consider it a mistake on her part.
"Don't worry. I will try. I hope you won't end up crying miserably," Faye snorted coldly and then stood up to leave.
Jenny watched her leave and decided to forget about her. She believed Alec could handle it, so she didn't plan to waste her energy on it. She still had to keep an eye on Eric. She didn't think he would give up so easily. He might already be planning his next move.
Jenny wasn't wrong. Eric was indeed planning his next move, but this time, he didn't need many people. To be precise, he only needed himself.
Inside the room, Eric had not fully recovered yet, and Pete was standing by his bedside. "Father, are you alright?"
"Don't worry, I can't die," Eric said, leaning against the headboard with some effort, looking at Pete. After a moment, he regained his composure and finally spoke, "Do you know why I called you here?"
