Chapter 1210 Long Time No See
Jenny was pondering the authenticity of Alec's words. Did he truly have no other thoughts now that Faye was back in the picture?
"Jenny, why do you still doubt my feelings for you?" Was there something he needed to do better?
Hearing that, Jenny felt a bit embarrassed. She cleared her throat before saying, "I'm just annoyed. I thought after dealing with Eric, we could finally have a peaceful life. Who would have expected Faye to appear at this moment?"
She didn't deny that she didn't want other women, especially those who could affect their relationship, to appear by Alec's side because she liked Alec.
"Don't worry, Faye's appearance means nothing. We don't need to attach any importance to her." In Alec's eyes, Faye meant nothing.
Jenny took a deep breath and realized that she had been overthinking.
Alec pulled her into his embrace and whispered in her ear, "Don't worry. No one will separate us again."
"I just wanted a few peaceful days," Jenny murmured.
"I understand, so don't worry. The things you're concerned about won't happen." Faye didn't affect their relationship in the past, and she wouldn't do so in the future.
Jenny didn't say anything more. She hoped that the reality would be as Alec had said.
In a villa on the western outskirts of Bardoff City, Eric's face turned pale. He had just regained consciousness after undergoing surgery.
"What's the situation?" Eric asked.
"The situation is not favorable for us, sir. The police are searching for us," his subordinate answered.
Eric's face darkened, and he remained silent.
"Should we return to Bayside City first, sir?" Bayside City was their territory. Even if the police were involved, they wouldn't dare to do anything to them. However, in Bardoff City, they had little say. Eric frowned. After a moment, he asked, "Am I supposed to be afraid of them?"
"Sir..."
"Bring Pete to Bardoff City," Eric said, interrupting his subordinate.
This time, he failed to snatch Lynette back, but he didn't plan to give up like this. She was his woman; even if she died, she would die at his hands.
Although his subordinate was worried, he didn't say anything more. He had a feeling that if they continued like this, something unexpected would occur.
At the hospital, Jenny continued her work as usual. Alec had already persuaded her not to pay attention to Faye's return, but unexpectedly, Faye came to her on her own accord.
"Dr. Walter, long time no see." In the consultation room, Jenny saw Faye.
Jenny examined her from head to toe. As Miss Wardley, there were significant changes in her appearance and how she carried herself.
Jenny smiled at her and asked, "Miss Wardley, what seems to be the problem?"
"It seems that Dr. Walter has heard from Alec," Faye sighed. "Whether it's Faye Lawrence or Faye Wardley, I'm still the same person. The only difference is the name."
Jenny put down the pen in her hand. Seeing that there were no patients for the moment, she was happy to chat with Faye.
"There is a difference." Jenny grinned at her. "If you were Faye Lawrence, you would always be Alec's savior's sister. But now, as Faye Wardley and given that your brother is still alive, what do you think you are to Alec? I think what Alec is struggling with right now is not who you are, but how your brother deceived him back then."
No one liked to be deceived, and Alec was no exception.
