Chapter 7.
7.
“...fuck...” He should have known Dargan would feel his mood swings, Kadi had hoped his father would have kept it to himself, like he usually did.
If his father could sense his confused emotions, there was no doubt that Rann and Ivac certainly could, only those two might have a clue as to what was causing it.
“Damn...” he cursed softly.
On the one hand, he wanted to go to his mate and take her just until she couldn’t any more, on the other hand, if he did..., the chances of her marking him were zero to nothing. Not that he had much hope anyway, though it was clear when he fucked her, she was enjoying it, it had certainly been against her will.
“ARRRRGGHHH....” He rubbed his face with both hands, why had the goddess given him a mate...?
“Alpha?” Dox had entered and saw his Alpha leaning forward with his head in his hands.
Kadi slowly sat up, but before he could say anything the door opened again, this time it was Bors who entered.“They know something’s up... Kyrenn just got in touch, under the guise of a routine check...” Kadi blurred out.
He looked at the two men he entrusted with his secret and sneered, in all the years he was commander of this ship, his father had exactly once contacted him.
He knew he’d got himself into trouble, all he had to do now was wait for a call from his brothers.
“Do you think they know what’s going on? I mean..., I know alpha Dargan senses your emotions and stuff, but I can’t imagine he knows why you’re so upset, so to speak.” Bors had walked to the desk and sat down in a chair opposite his friend.
“No, he doesn’t, but they’ll be waiting for me at the docking station when we get back, you can bet on that.”
Kadi turned to look at the boy still standing at the door.
“Sit down Dox...” and waited till the lad was seated.
“Now you understand why no one can know about her? I marked her, and as you well know..., that’s forbidden...”
Dox looked from his alpha to his beta and back again, and nodded. Yes, he knew full well that what Kadi had done was forbidden, but he was curious about one thing and the question burned on his lips, would he…?
“Is she your chosen mate or soul mate?” There you go, the question left his lips before he could hold it inside.
Dox swallowed, big chance Kadi would lash out at him for his inappropriate question. Well, that was it then...
“I love your boldness, boy, and yes, she’s my soul mate...” Kadi laughed scornfully.
“Yeah... That’s what Bors looked like when I told him.”
Suddenly there was a high-pitched vibrating sound, someone was trying to make contact. Kadi turned to the screen.
“Do you want us to go?” Bors didn’t want to join the conversation, but Kadi shook his head, and turned the screen, so the person making contact couldn’t see his Beta and Omega.
“What have you done, dude?” Kadi felt a wave of relief, Ivac was the one making contact, not Rann.
“Nothing to worry about, once we get back...” Kadi’s words were immediately interrupted by his brother.
“WHAT KIND OF IDIOT DO YOU THINK I’M, YOU MOTHERFUCKER?!” Ivac wasn’t easily angered, but he was furious now.
He had felt the intensity of his brother’s emotions, and knew that only a mate could arouse this kind of emotion in a person.
Not that he had ever experienced it himself, but he had once seen a woman meet her mate when he was about 12 years old, and he had never forgotten the forceful reaction between the two. Everything he had felt about his brother’s emotions matched with what he had seen at the time.
Kadi growled precariously at his brother’s outburst, there was no doubt about it, his brother knew he had found his mate, probably their mate...
“How did you know?” Despite Kadi being annoyed by his brother’s outburst, he couldn’t help but ask. It wasn’t like they could read each other’s minds or anything...
“I once saw two soulmates meet for the first time, your emotions were identical to what I saw happening then.” Ivac growled at his brother.
“But what I’m curious about is..., WHERE DID YOU GET THE FUCKING IDEA TO MARK HER?! YOU KNOW THAT SHE'S PROBABLY MY MATE TO, YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE!! SHE CAN ALSO BE THE MATE OF THAT OTHER DIPSHIT!!”
Though Ivac wasn’t even in the same room, both Bors and Dox immediately bowed their heads and exposed their necks at the roaring outburst of the other Alpha.
Kadi flew up, the chair he was sitting on, slammed into the wall behind him, and he stood facing the screen in an attacking stance, teeth and claws bared.
“She’s my mate...!!” His voice was so low and growling, it was almost unrecognizable as talking. On the other side of the screen, Ivac had also flown to his feet as well, and was also in an attacking stance. At this point, it was fortunate that there were thousands of miles between the brothers.
Dox looked at Bors with a pale face, and saw the older man had tensed up. This whole situation was so bizarre, they fought over a woman, one of them hadn’t even seen. Had to be a triplet thing, or something...
But what if all of them were her mate, then what? Poor woman! Three quarrelling Alpha brothers, 2 of whom hated each other.
Dox felt really sorry for the woman he met just a short while ago. She had no idea what was going on or what was waiting for her, that was one thing he knew for sure.
“You don’t touch her any more until you get back, got that? Or I will make your life a living hell..., trust me...” Ivac’s voice sounded even more deadly than his brother’s just did.
Although Kadi wasn’t afraid of him, somewhere deep inside, he knew that what he had done, was nothing more than betrayal to his brother. He couldn’t care less about Rann, but Ivac was his brother, his mate, his, so to speak, conscience, and although he’d tried to push Ivac away, the man never let hem fall.
Though the thought of having to share his mate, was everything from appealing, the betrayed look on his brother’s face on the other hand, was making his guts churn.
Until he saw his brother’s face, Kadi had always been able to convinced himself that he and Ivac were nothing more than brothers, a brother he didn’t care much for.
But now that his brother was standing in front of him, on the other side of the screen, of course, it was as if he saw his other half, which in some ways, the man really was.
He and Ivac were both sides of the same coin. They were very similar in appearance, only their behaviour was the opposite, or as their fathers said, they complemented each other.
Rann, on the other hand, though similar to them, was different, the bond between them was also completely different.
Looking at his brother, the turmoil of emotions calmed down, the thought of sharing his mate with him, became more and more natural.
“I won’t..., I will contain her inside my quarters and let Dox look out for her.” The expression on Ivac’s face softened a little.
“... Good... Whatever happens, we’ll make it work.” With those words, Ivac signed off.
Kadi suddenly remembered he wasn’t alone, he looked at his Beta and saw the completely surprised expression on his friend’s face.
"Don't ask..., I can't explain..." This was certainly true, he couldn't explain the bond between him and Ivac.
"Fine..." His friend said.
"But what about Rann? Thought about him?" The only response Bors got was a deadly stare and growl.
