DENISE
“This is hell
“Hell has to be an understatement,” Arya agreed with me. “How long do you have to endure this, Denise? You aren’t being treated like you You are royalty. You are a princess. How long are you going to keep on enduring this insane situations??”
deserve.
I bit my lip, a sigh still managing to escape. With another sigh, I looked around the dark empty space that was now to be considered my room.
Just when I thought things couldn’t get any more worse, my father forced me to listen to Sage without objections. And unfortunately for me, listening to Sage meant me having to vacate my room to begin staying in one of the empty ones in the servants quarters.
matter what you did, he is being partial and it is all that silly Sage’s fault!”
“This is unfair,” Arya continued. “Your father is not being just. No matter wh
“Do I have a choice then, Arya?” 1 voiced out to her. “Even if I know my father is being unfair to me, what can I say? You witnessed everything yourself. He has made up his mind. He has passed his judgment however unfair it might be.”
“But he is being unreasonable. He is ”
“Shh,” I quickly silenced Arya as I began to hear footsteps outside my room door. “I can hear footsteps. Someone’s ourside.
“Oh, who can it be?” She joked. “Sage? Asking you to get more of her Laundry done cause she’s suddenly the newest spoilt brat in the pack?”
“Well you can say that, on the other hand I wasn’t in the mood to joke like Arya. I walked towards the door and pressed my ear against it, noticing how the sound of the footsteps seemed to have gotten fainter. “I guess no one’s at the door. Maybe I was just hearing things.”
Or not. As just a couple of minutes later, a knock was placed on the door, almost startling me.
“Who is it?” I asked, surprised anyone still valued me enough to place a knock on my door before barging in “Come in
The door was pushed open to reveal Jules and it finally made sense. She was the only servant who still considered me worthy of princess treatment.
“Princess Denise, she smiled lightly at me. Though she tried to hide it, I could still spot a hint of sympathy in her eyes. “Your attention is needed by the Alpha. He asked me to come fetch you.”
The Alpha My heart immediately missed a beat. “My father?”
“Yes, Alpha Connor, she nodded. “He requests your presence.
“Oh,” I muttered, Arya growling. “Do you know what this is about?”
“I’m afraid not,” she shook her head. “I couldn’t tell what he was previously talking about. I was just asked to fetch for you and that’s all.” “Oh, alright, thank you. I’ll join him soon then.”
After multiple disappointments from my father, I couldn’t afford to get my hopes high anymore. Whatever his reason for calling me was, I could only prepare for the worst and at the same time, hope it wasn’t going to be as terrible as forcing me to listen to Sage’s instructions no matter what.
I took a second to calm myself and with Arya’s approval, finally stepped out of my room to head to the living room, As I walked through the corridors, whispers emanated from every corners and I could swear all eyes were on me. It probably wasn’t supposed to be enough reason for me to guess things weren’t looking great but the second I set foot into the living room and spotted Sage by his side, a smug smile on her face, I indeed. knew things weren’t looking great.
“Father,” I bowed lightly at him. “I heard you asked to see me?
Sage immediately snickered and muttered a couple inaudible words under her breath, turning to face my father to smile at him.
“Yes, I asked to see you,” he nodded. “I have a question for you. Actually, I have a couple of questions for you?
“What is that, father!” I spared him a worrisome glance. “Is everything okay?”
“I’m afraid not,” his voice was immediately stern. “I won’t beat around the bush. I heard you had the guts to question my authority and decisions” “What?” I almost yelled. “0.
yelled. “Question your authority!! Father, I wouldn’t dare!”
“Liest” Sage immediately spoke up. “I heard you, Denise. Stop trying to deny it.”

“What?”
“I am telling the truth, father,” Sage turned to face him. “I was walking past her room and I overheard her. She was talking about how unfair you’ve been. How your judgements are unreasonable and how she isn’t in support of them
“Sage!” I raised my voice, a light gasp escaping my lips. “How did you”
It suddenly made sense. I wasn’t hearing things. I’d indeed heard footsteps around my room and those footsteps belonged to Sage.
She had not only heard me but had also decided to use my words against me.
“Father it’s not like that.” I frantically rushed towards him. “I did not mean those words, I only said-
“Do not believe her father, her words were laced with disdain. “You had to hear her yourself. Her words were filled with so much evil and disgust. She and her wolf. They belittled you and underrated your method of ruling the pack.”
“Sagel
“Stop calling out by name!” She yelled at me in an equally loud voice. “You know what? Fine! You’ve pushed me. I was trying to be calm with you but now you’ve made me realize you don’t deserve any form of compassion. Not even the slightest bit”
“She and her wolf were planning to overthrow you to get revenge for stripping her off her princess privileges!”
Gasps erupted from every comer of the living room making me realize we had much more company than I thought. My gasp was the loudest though as I stared at Sage in total awe of how she could take my words and twist them in such an evil manner.
“What?!” I watched rage immediately engulf my father. “Denise, how dare you!!”
“No, father,” my voice began to crack in fear. “This is a misunderstanding. I did not say that I would never try to overthrow or sabotage your position as Alpha. I am not even capable of that All I said was
“Did you question my judgments or not?”
A lump developed in my throat as I stared at him. I couldn’t deny it, I had questioned his judgment and considered it unfair. “Father, 1-
“Did you and your wolf consider my decisions and unreasonable and unfair?” He asked again. “Are those all true or do you want to say they are all
Sage is telling?”
They weren’t lies. But at the same time, they weren’t the complete truth either.
“Father,” tears were now welling up my eyes. “I promise you I didn’t mean them that way. 1-
“Nonsense!” His voice echoed in the entire mansion as he yelled at me. “You undeserving and ungrateful child! How dare you?”
“F–father. I–1-
Words refused to form. I felt suffocated. It suddenly felt like all the walls of the room were closing up on me as i uselessly tried to prove my innocence.
It felt like Deja vu. A couple days ago I was in the same situation, uselessly trying to tell them all I was being framed.
But it didn’t work. And as terrifying as it sounded, I knew the same fate was about to repeat itself.
He wasn’t going to believe me. Regardless of how hard I tried to prove myself.
“You have pushed me, Denise, he finally rose to his feet and gave me a condescending look. “For days, I have been ignoring your actions and trying to look at the past. Trying to give you the benefit of the doulit and excusing your actions with the fact that you were once the Alpha princess. But not anymore.”
The whispers around me suddenly grew louder, accompanied by a cackle from Sage.
“Father,” my voice was barely a whisper. “What an
are you trying to say?”
“What I’m saying is,” my heart stopped as he cleared his throat. “You’ve left me with no choice.”
“By the power vested in me by the moon goddess as the Alphia, I banish you Denise Lancaster from the Blue Moon Pack
