Chapter Chapter Six:: Never Trust
Bayou
Somehow, I couldn’t stop thinking what just took place last night.
“Careful, it hurts.” Max hissed in pain, as I poured the rum in his wounded left arm.
“Good, why the hell did you stop me?” I growled out, pressing the cloth around his arm and tightening it up, which caused him to hiss even more.
“Calm down, last night you weren’t in your right mind. Did you forget I’d forbid you to kill anyone,” he scolds me. I stop my movements, and sigh, shaking my head.
After I had left the girl alone, I walked out, only to see Max and my other crew mates entering the ship, while we sailed off. I was ready to go back and forget everything and kill the king right there sadly, Max knew my look, he rushed to my side and held me down, until I calmed down, which took half an hour and lots of rum with it until I lost consciousness.
“I’m not a child for you to forbid me to something, I’m almost thirty.” I moved away from him, opening my door to my base,to go out, a sudden gust of cold wind brushed against my face, causing me to wince.
Damn, even the wind is bothering me.
“What do we do with the girl? What you told me last night, you made a grave error, poor child.” Max asked, following me out. I look up at the cloudy morning sky, feeling my ship rock with the waves.
Right, the girl, she looked scared. I can’t get mad at her. Is not her fault.
My ship is filled with huge carts of food and supplies that would last us two weeks or so. The large mast was set in the middle with my pirate flag waving about in the winds. The sea is calm, I shivered a little from the cold.
“I hate being wrong, but I have a plan.” I moved away going down the stairs, and walking the baseline of my ship, to open the trapdoor. Max followed, and we went down.
Upon reaching the second floor, I moved toward the girl.
What was her name again? Her name started with a ‘C’—Cindy, No, Oh, Crystal.
I bent down at her shivering body. I took notice that she was sweating heavily. I looked up to see Max giving her a concerned look. Looking back down, I moved a bit closer and took my key from my breast pocket and unlock the cuffs. She arched her body up, and when I looked down at her small wrists, they were red. I made the cuff disappear from my hands.
Poor thing. I didn’t mean to leave it all night. I forgot about them. When I get angry, I tend to forget things.
“Crystal?” I asked. She moaned, opening her eyes and our eyes locked, her eyes were bloodshot, I suspected from crying all night. One thing was for sure, I wasn’t wrong the night before, she did have dark green eyes. I start to trace her, she has thick and wavy, light brown in color hair. I was finally getting a better picture of her in the light of day. Her face was chubby holding a small nose and very plump red lips. She was no beauty, though, I could tell you that, she’s a thick woman, but not overly thick, but it suits her. My eyes roam down, to her breasts, they are rounded, not too big, but not small either. I lifted my eyes back at her.
No wonder she felt like a sack of potatoes.
She blinked and blinked, rubbing at her eyes. Crystal doesn’t say anything, but a strange stench passed through my nose. I looked down to find her white dress stained yellow.
Did she piss herself? Guilt pounded already in my chest.
“Bloody hell!”
“What’s wrong?” Max asks while he bent to look, but I stood up.
“Get me my clothes,” I ordered him. He nodded without question and leaves. I turned, and Crystal eyes widened, and she sprung up, looking everywhere.
“Where am I?” her voice cracked, and I just took notice how pale she looked and of her chapped lips. I bent on my knees and stared at her.
“Who are you?” Crystal gasped out, moving backward. Then she moved her head.
“Mama, there’s a strange man in our house. If he’s Alex’s friend, please tell Alex to get him out,” she got up rather weakly using the wall for support.
“Alex’s friend?” I played along.
“Oh, that boy, I’m going to strangle him. He knows I don’t like men in the house while I’m here,” she hissed out. I smirked, amused.
“Hmm, ain’t nothing wrong on strangling your lover?” I guessed, squinting my eyes to see her reaction. Her eyes narrowed at my words.
“Eww, Alex my lover? That’s gross. He’s my older brother, and...” but then she stared at me, really stared this time.
Brother, interesting, I stood up, and I heard the door latch open.
“You...wait... It wasn’t a nightmare?” she said, startled and looked around wildly. I moved closer to her, almost pinning her against the wall.
“Love, being with me ain’t no nightmare, but a pleasurable dream, I can assure you that.” I told her, causing her to gasp, looking at me with saucer eyes.
“Welcome back to reality.” I teased, her pale face flushed out, looking anywhere but me.
“Get away from me, you pirate,” she pushed me, but very weakly causing her to tip forward. I wrapped my arm around her small waist, feeling her body shake against mine. I moved my hand and pressed it to her forehead.
Damn it. She has a fever. I forgot to get her a blanket. It’s freezing down here this time of year, I scolded myself. I moved and hoisted her in my arms. She grunted in protest. As I went up, Max comes down with my clothes at hand.
“Here is...” but I cut him off.
“To my cabin, she has a fever. I was too mad last night that I forgot to bring her a blanket.” I told him. Max stared, but nodded, following me up, I winced from the sudden sunlight. Heading to my cabin, I heard one of my crewmates shout.
“Oi, Captain Bayou!”
It was Shawn, a small, scrawny man, in about his late forties, yellow teeth, and wild hair. His skin was so tan that he could barely be considered white anymore. Wild, dark eyes, eyed Crystal with hunger.
“Oi Capt. Can we have some fun with her? It’s been a while since we’ve been with a girl. The others escaped last night.” he asks. I tightened my grip on Crystal.
“If anyone, I mean anyone on this ship lays one dirty hand on her, they will have to answer to me. She is the princess, and you know what the rules are for this. It would be useless to taint her now. Is that understood?” I screamed. No one answered me.
“Do I have to repeat myself?” I growled in a low, dangerous tone.
“AYE CAPTAIN.” They all answered. Either way, I still didn’t trust them, after all, they were wild uneducated horny men, and when they see a woman, they would try anything. Lustful beasts.
“Stop talking please.” Crystal voice was very low, but then she turns to the crew.
“You scoundrels!” she shouted, that caused me to smirk. Then she looked up at me,
“Unhand me, you’re far worse than them, just let me walk the plank, living with the sharks doesn’t seem like a bad idea.” I blinked at her, surprised by her attitude especially in her condition.
“Oi, I’m not that bad, and for the plank, I’ll prepare the sharks, but in the meanwhile, I have to take you to my cabin,” her eyes widened in shock, and she started to wiggle in my grasp.
“No fair,” someone shouted. I ignored it and walked to my cabin. It’s a medium size bedroom, nothing out there, with one large bed with no curtain to cover, just a plain bed under the window and red desk in the middle of the room, with three red simple wooden chairs around. I try not to be fancy, is not my thing, nor do I feel right having them.
I placed Crystal down, and turned toward Max, who was just staring at her, I was not sure what exactly he was thinking, but from what I could gather it looked petty. I moved closer and took my clothes out of his hands.
“What do we do now Bayou?” he asked.
“Head north, I need to make a stop, as well, I need to have a long conversation with our guest of honor,” I murmured, entering my room and closing the door behind me. She was standing next to my desk, holding my feather pen, in a weak way. I arched a brow.
“Are you going to ink me to death? If so, please use some other weapon. I rather not have to clean the ink later on.” I moved to place the clothes on top of my bed. She started to breathe heavily.
“I wish I could ink you to death, if not please give me a weapon, a deadly one. I told you yesterday, why aren’t you killing me or setting me free? I have nothing for you to gain,” she pleaded.
I stretched out my hands and gestured around.
“Use whatever you want as a weapon, it’s free, and I have my reasons.” I stood up and moving closer to her. She stumbled backward, knocking my ink over. Her chubby cheeks turned red, and that made me smirk.
My eyes roamed her small face. She barely passes my chest, either I’m too damn tall, or she is too short. Yet, she looks adorable for her height.
“You are short,” I started out of nowhere. I blinked, lifting my gaze.
Why the hell did I say that for?
“So, you’re too tall, like a tree. If we are done complimenting our heights, why did you bring me here?” she lowered her head, I knew she had no strength to fight me off, so an idea passed my mind. I lifted my hands up and grabbed the slit opening of her dress that I made last night and pulled it gently.
“What else would a pirate want with a girl in his cabin, hope you can please.” Horror-struck at her face, this time, she had actually mustered up something. She looked up at me and smiled, but her whole face was like a tomato at this point.
Looks nice.
“Really, I hope I can.”
With that, she lifted her leg up and tried to hit me between the legs. I moved away rapidly, grabbing her arm and spinning her around, making her fall onto my bed. I fell on top of her. Her chest moved rapidly, as I placed my hand on each side of her and lowered myself closer. Her eyes were wide, and her chest was so heaving hard that I could practically feel her chest against mine.
“Good God, you are stiff.” I suddenly burst out laughing, moving to the side and sitting down. She jerked away.
“Good, I don’t want to be no one’s plaything. Tell me what are you planning to do with me,” she demanded.
Plaything? I surely don’t play with girls, it’s not my thing.
“You said the king doesn’t know, and I will take advantage of this. You are my captive until I kill the king with my own hands.” I fisted my hands together and felt her move a bit.
“Don’t I have a say in this?” her voice changed into a soft tone. I turned to look at her, her head was down, and her hands are rubbing together.
“Nay love, you don’t,” her face dropped in defeat.
“Apparently, I never do, until this pans out, what would you do with me afterward? You only have three months.”
She lifted her gaze up, but avoided my gaze. I licked my bottom lip.
“Good three months is enough, but all I need’s a week. I will return you back to your family, and that’s my pirate word.”
This time she lifted her gaze, her green eyes locking with mine once again.
“A week? Okay, I believe you,” she whispered, lowering her head again.
Really? That’s the first... You’re the first time anyone has believed my words. My eyes saddened at my thoughts.
Shaking it off, I stood up from my bed and moved closer to her. She gasped, moving back.
“Never trust that easily, now if you want, I can dress you up,” I offered, actually liking the idea.
She stood up and pushed me back.
“You are right, I shouldn’t trust you,” she snapped. I sighed and pointed at my clothes.
“Wear those and then come out.”
I ran my fingers through my hair. She blinked, surprised at my sudden actions.
“Do you do this to all the girls you bring here?” I stopped in my tracks and faced the door.
“No, since you’re the first girl ever to enter my room. Get changed. You stink of piss.”
With that, I left my room.
