Chapter Chapter Seven: Captain Bayou

Chapter Seven: Captain Bayou

I looked down at my new outfit. A baggy long sleeve dark red shirt and loose pants, that I had to wrap around my waist and ankles using strips from the dress. It felt weird to wear men’s pants, but it was comfortable, and I wore the white heels since they were the only shoes that fit me, even though I hated them.

I looked at my dress that laid on top of his bed. I blushed in embarrassment. I couldn’t believe I had peed on myself. I wiped my face, taking notice that I felt hotter than normal.

I got sick. Stupid cell. But I should thank God. At least I was able to escape that awful man. I shivered, and I went slowly outside, even though I felt horrible.

When I stepped out, I winced from the sunrays. The ship rocked up and down, causing my empty stomach to flop with it.

When was the last time I have eaten? Oh, yesterday morning. I need a bath as well. Even if I change, I still stink, and I’m dirty. I frowned, when suddenly a dark shadow overcame me, blocking out the light. I looked up, to see an older man with dark long hair and white forming around like streaks. His brown eyes smiled with a twinkle that matched the kind grin of his lips.

“My lady, I am truly sorry for the mix-up,” he told me. I blinked and moved back.

“Can you send me back,” I asked. He frowned at my words.

“Can’t my lady, Capt has other plans with you.”

I raised my gaze to see the strange man looking up at the cloudy sky.

Yeah, he is going to use me, I don’t care what vengeance he wants with the king, but will he keep his promise to me? No, I shouldn’t believe in anyone, not even a bloody pirate or a loyal. Then again, something in his silver eyes told me to do so. For the briefest second, I felt like I could grasp that hope with him. Not sure why.

“What’s your name?” I asked with curiosity. He seemed nice. Maybe he could help me.

“Max Acre, I’m forty- six, and I’m a single man,” he smirked at me. I lowered my head, making my hair cover my face.

“You seem nice, can’t you just give me a boat and I can be off my merry way.” I gave it a shot.

" I told you, I can’t help you, even though I want to, I’m sorry,”

With that he walks away, I looked up to take notice of what he was wearing, a light blue long shirt with dark pants and thick boots.

This is bad. I need to leave. Mama must be sick and worried. Does Papa even care? The thoughts were drowning me.

“Well, follow me.” I heard in front of me. I lifted my gaze to see Max waiting with crossed arms. I nodded at him, not sure why, but I followed him.

Slowly, I made it to the second floor, which was around the Captain’s cabin. It took about five steps, to reach the wheel. The Captain stood there with his hands on the wooden wheel, looking as though he was the happiest man alive.

My cheeks flared up, from earlier today. I wished the ground would open up and swallow me. Then again, my eyes betrayed me as I studied his strong back.

His back was very broad, and he wore a white shirt as well with dark pants and boots. His legs are long, while his black hair is short, cut perfectly at the back, but longer in the front and brushed to the side. The winds made it flop in all directions. It looked soft.

“She’s here,” Max announced me. I licked my suddenly dry lips and started to rub my hands together. The Captain turned, and I glanced at his face.

He has a clean shave, pearly white teeth, and a sharp nose. His lips weren’t thin nor were they big. He had high cheekbones with a strong jawline and a broad chest. He had the first four buttons of his shirt unbuttoned giving me a good view of his chest. That made me blush even more. I glance up, to see his thick eyelashes and thick eyebrows. His eyes. Once again, his eyes seemed as though he could see right through me. I had never seen anyone with silver eyes; it was strange.

“Come here, I won’t bite,” he waved his hand, and I blinked at him. He turns back to face the wheel.

“Why do I feel like you would.” I moved slowly, my body tensing at each step. He chuckled, placing his chin on top of his folded hands, as he leaned against the wheel.

“Being conscious is a good thing. You never know, I might bite you one day. I know what you’re thinking.” I took a step aside, making my hair cover my face once again.

“You do? I didn’t know you could read minds. What am I thinking all powerful wizard?” I snapped but didn’t move my head.

He was silent for a bit and then I heard him inhale.

“Might be a wizard since you’re the witch of this ship. You’re thinking how strange are my eyes.” My eyes widened with surprise that had actually hit that nail correctly.

“My eyes are real, and they have some powers. Now going on to business.”

His demeanor changed suddenly turning his voice dark.

Powers? What does he mean by that?

“Business? I have no business with you.”

That caused him to turn toward me. His silver eyes, dark again and this time he grasped my arm pinning me against him again.

“What’s with the pinning?” I snapped but avoided his gaze. I felt embarrassed. I didn’t like being so close to a male. The Captain bent closer to me and whispered into my ear. I shivered from the sudden closeness.

“Its fun, I can feel your body against mine,” he whispered into my ear. My eyes widened when he suddenly took a hold of my chin.

My body bolted from his touch, a strange electricity shot down my whole being, causing me to gasp and look wide-eyed at him. Apparently, he felt it as well, I watched his eyes bulge, he cleared his throat and removed his hand from my chin, as though he just been burned.

We didn’t say anything about that.

“Starting today, you will be working. You will have to scrub the floors, wash everyone’s clothes and cook for us and whatever else I tell you to do. It’s been a long time since a woman entered my ship.” He orders.

My eyes narrowed.

“I’m not a maid. I was forced to enter your ship. How come..” I stop mid-sentence when a sudden dizzy spell hit me, causing my knees to go weak, I had to grasp the wheel for support.

“I know you’re not, but you can’t just be here for free. I never do things for free. You have to work if you want to stay alive, or you can just spend the night with each man on this ship. It’s up to you?” He added without a care. I snapped my eyes open and sent him a death glare.

“Are you mental? I’d rather die.”

The Captain nodded and turned to face Max.

“Still with the insults. Oi, Max!” He calls out. Max looks at him, and arched a brow.

“Yes, Captain?”

“Take her to my cabin, and make her drink the herbs when she recovers, start her to work immediately. One thing, keep a close eye in the cabin, just in case.”

I wiped my sweaty forehead and looked up at him.

“Just in case of what?” I asked him, not sure what he meant by that. The Captain smirked at me.

“Just in case you escape.”

I rolled my eyes at him, and I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked up to see Max looking down at me.

“Let’s go.” Max’s eyes reminded me of my father. His aura seemed fatherly for some strange reason.

“Before I go, I want to know, what is my captor’s name?” I asked.

“Why?” he asked me. I smirked at him, and stared at him straight in his eyes, avoiding my shyness.

“So I can curse you using your name.”

The Captain and Max stared at each other for a brief second, then they actually broke out laughing, as though it was some joke.

“What’s so funny?” I asked them. Max patted my shoulder, making me look up at him.

“I already like you, you sure speak your mind,” he told me. I blushed lowering my face.

“Just tell me his name.” I avoided Max.

The Captain turned to start sailing his ship.

“Fine, and remember it well, my name is...” he paused as though he was in deep thought. Then he laughed out loud once again.

“Oi mates, what’s my name!” he suddenly shouted to his crew who were all working tirelessly around the deck. Everyone stopped what they are doing and shouted at the same time.

“CAPTAIN BAYOU!”

“And what’s my reputation?” he yelled.

“THE DEADLIEST PIRATE THAT HAS EVER SAILED THE SEVEN SEAS.”

Everyone burst out laughing, as I blinked in surprised by this response. Then Captain Bayou turned to face me, and a dark look passed over his features.

“Captain Bayou is my name, and you just became my little witch. Welcome to my hell, and I couldn’t ask for a better partner to join.” I swallowed hard at his words.

Oh God, where in the world have I gotten myself into?
