Chapter the Wife 91
Chapter 91 The Paternity Test
“What do you mean? Start over?” Sally looked at him full of sarcasm.
“Yes.” Anders stared into her beautiful eyes and said, “Let’s start over and become a happy couple.”
Sally felt a burning sensation in her eyes.
If it were before, she would have agreed wanout hesitation.
But now, it was clear she couldn’t nod.
When she saw her son thrown off the cliff, she only felt disappointment and heartbreak towards Anders.
She had explained countless times that Andy was his son, but Anders was stubborn, always considering Andy a bastard.
Bastard.
Every time she thought about the word coming from Andy’s biological father, Sally felt immense pain.
Andy longed for his father’s love, but Anders, as his father, humiliated him
countless times.
Andy was still so young; how could he endure such blows?
For her son’s sake, Sally couldn’t reconcile with Anders.
Thinking of this, Sally said sharply, “You want to reconcile? Impossible. Anders, we’re long over.”
Anders didn’t expect Sally to say such ruthless words.
His face showed anger, but he patiently said, “Sally, I’m giving you a chance to explain–what happened in the past, you can explain, and I will believe you.”
Too late.
Sally thought.
Anders probably wanted to be with her, hence this attitude.
But in reality?
Did he genuinely believe Mary was behind everything?
Sally could almost guess that even if she explained again, Anders would still distrust her.
Sally felt sad thinking about it.
The person she once loved most wasn’t willing to give her a bit of trust.
“You can explain to me, and I’ll believe you,” Anders repeated.
Sally looked quietly into his eyes.
“If I explain, you’ll believe?” she asked.
“Of course.” Anders nodded solemnly.
Even though Sally already knew the answer, she still said, “Everything that happened was Mary’s doing. I never harmed you, and even Andy, he is your son.”
Anders‘ face changed quickly.
He reached out and grabbed Sally’s fragile neck.
“Do you hate Mary that much? I gave you a chance to reform, why do you keep slandering her? What do you gain by slandering her? Mary is your sister,”
Anders said with some pain.
Sally laughed.
She had already known it would end this way.
See, men’s words are always the least trustworthy.
They say they trust you, but once you say something they dislike, they will unconditionally refute you.
Sally took a deep breath, and Anders relaxed his grip slightly.
“I’ve explained as you asked,” Sally said, “Mr. Anders, do you have anything else? Please leave my house; I have things to do.”
Sally stood up, but Anders pressed her back down.
“What do you mean Andy is my son?” Anders asked.
Sally found it ridiculous.
“Nothing.” Sally shrugged, “Mr. Anders, whatever you think he is, that’s what he
- is. Your opinion doesn’t matter to me.”
Anders‘ face turned grim.
“Is he really my son?” Anders asked again, uncertain.
Sally thought Anders was like a fool.
She didn’t know how many times she had told Anders that Andy was his son.
But he refused to believe it.
Sally suddenly had a cruel thought, maybe this guy deserved never to reunite with Andy.
Though she hoped Andy could enjoy fatherly love, Anders didn’t deserve to be Andy’s father in his current state.
Anders didn’t deserve it!
When Sally said Andy was his child, Anders found it laughable, but now seeing her indifferent attitude, he felt a sharp pain in his heart.
Why…
Why did he feel guilty and heartbroken?
Sally remained cold towards him, making Anders feel defeated. In the end, he let her go.
“I’ll come see you when I have time,” Anders said, “Sally, don’t think about leaving me, never.”
Leaving the neighborhood, Anders called his assistant.
“Arrange a paternity test for me and Andy,” Anders said.
The assistant was puzzled but agreed, “Yes, boss.”
The assistant was frantic.

God!
What had he done?
Oh, damn it!
He was so damn wrong!
Andy was his son, and he kept hurting him!
Anders felt like crying from the pain.
Knowing Andy was alive, he was immensely relieved.
Thank goodness.
God gave him a chance.
Andy being alive meant God gave him a chance to make amends.
Anders quickly composed himself. After washing up and having breakfast, he left the house.
Jacqueline had been a student at Berkeley, so Anders occasionally visited Berkeley.
In a way, he had some connections with Calvin.
But because of Sally, he and Calvin had completely cut ties.
