Chapter the Wife 89
Chapter 89 The Familiar Restaurant
Calvin seemed to be concerned about whether she was off work and even thoughtfully asked if she needed a ride.
Sally certainly declined.
She decided to check the map for high–end restaurants nearby. Given Calvin’s status, it wouldn’t be appropriate to take him to a random place.
Initially, Sally didn’t plan to be overly attentive to Calvin. But
considering he was Berkeley’s grandson, and Berkeley had saved her and Andy, she had no reason to treat Calvin coldly.
They would be meeting more often in the future, and Sally didn’t want to strain their relationship.
Sally found a few nearby restaurants with nice environments and was about to choose when Calvin messaged her again.
Calvin: Sally, this place looks good. How about we go here?
Calvin quickly sent a location.
Sally looked at it and was surprised.
It was a small restaurant near her old high school!
How did Calvin choose this place by chance?
Sally had a strange feeling.
Sure enough, Calvin soon explained.
Calvin: Forgive my curiosity… Haha, my assistant found out your went to school nearby and frequently ate at this restaurant. I’m curious about the food there. Can you take me to try it?

Sally’s expression turned odd.
She didn’t expect Calvin to have someone investigate her!
Yet, she couldn’t show her displeasure.
As for Calvin’s statement that she used to eat there often…
Yes, it was true. During high school, she was a regular at that
restaurant.
But back then, she went with someone else.
Thinking of Anders made Sally feel complicated.
Since Calvin could find out about her frequenting that restaurant, he likely knew she had been dating Anders since high school.
After all, she often went to that restaurant with Anders.
Sally felt a bit heavy–hearted.
Time had flown by, and everything had changed.
“Things are different now,” described her relationship with Anders. perfectly.
Faced with Calvin’s request, Sally didn’t refuse. She readily agreed.
Honestly, if she refused, Calvin might think she was still hung up on Anders.
Ridiculous. Hung up on Anders?
She always thought their relationship was in the past.
However, Sally was curious why Calvin suddenly decided to investigate her high school days.
Was he that idle?
With many questions, Sally took a cab to the destination.
Before long, she met Calvin at the high school gate.
Calvin wore casual clothes, and Sally didn’t say much. “Let’s go! The restaurant is on the next street. I’ll take you there.”
Calvin obediently followed her.
When they entered the restaurant, Sally saw the same old owner.
Even after all these years, the owner hadn’t changed.
However, the owner’s hair seemed whiter.
Seeing Sally, the owner seemed surprised. “Ah…weren’t you a
regular here in high school?”
Sally smiled and said, “Yes.”
The owner happily seated them and handed them menus. “Order whatever you like. I’ll head to the kitchen.”
Sally thanked him.
Calvin sat next to Sally, who handed him the menu. “See if there’s anything you want.”
Sally smiled awkwardly. “You probably haven’t been to this type of restaurant before, right? If you’re uncomfortable, we can leave anytime.”
But Calvin smiled warmly, “No, this place is great. Why leave?”
Sally fell silent.
Calvin looked at the menu and suddenly asked, “What was your favorite dish in high school?”
Sally didn’t expect him to ask that.

She glanced at the menu and laughed, “These were my favorites. Which one do you want to try?”
Calvin noticed her evasion and didn’t push further. He casually pointed to a dish, “This one.”
Sally called the owner to place their order.
The owner quickly went to the kitchen to cook.
Calvin looked around the restaurant and regretfully smiled, “I wish I had met you sooner.”
Sally didn’t expect him to say that.
She awkwardly smiled, “Calvin, why would you say that?”
Calvin said, “I’m just curious about what you were like in high
school.”
Sally’s thoughts drifted back to high school.
She was vibrant and lively back then, unlike now–timid and silent.
Sally laughed with a touch of humor, “I looked a bit younger then.”
Calvin smiled.
They stopped talking.
Soon, the owner brought their food.
As they ate in silence, the owner glanced at Sally, hesitant to speak.
She remembered Sally often coming with a boy in high school.
Clearly, Calvin wasn’t that boy.
The owner said nothing and went back to the kitchen.
At that moment, a tall figure appeared at the restaurant door.
Anders immediately recognized Sally and Calvin eating inside!
Seeing them together made Anders furious!
Sally, that hateful woman!
How could she bring Calvin here? How could she?
They used to come here often in high school. This place held their
fond memories.
But Anders never expected Sally to bring Calvin here.
What was she trying to express?
Revisiting old places?
And starting a new relationship with Calvin?
Anders felt their pure memories were being tarnished.
Seeing Sally and Calvin talking softly, Anders couldn’t help but
cough!
“Coming!” The owner walked out from the kitchen. Seeing Anders,
she was stunned.
This man looked so much like Sally’s old boyfriend!
The owner glanced at Sally.
Seeing the owner not speaking but staring at her, Sally felt odd.
Recalling the familiar voice, she turned to look.
Seeing Anders standing there, Sally was stunned.
Why was he here?
Was he here to cause trouble?
GUIT
For some reason, Sally felt Anders was here for her.
Seeing Anders’s stern face, Sally knew he wasn’t here for good.
The owner reacted first, “Hello, what would you like to eat?”
But Anders didn’t answer, staring intently at Sally’s back.
Sally felt awkward–she couldn’t continue eating.
Calvin noticed Sally’s discomfort.
He looked back.
