Chapter the Wife 81
Chapter 81 A Huge Endorsement Fee
Anders‘ words hit Sally where it hurt.
She gritted her teeth and said, “Consider it a favor I owe you. I’ll pay you back in the future. Now, let me go, I need to get up!”
But Anders didn’t move.
“Swear you’ll stay away from Calvin!” Anders demanded.
Sally angrily retorted, “You’re unreasonable! Who I’m with is none of your business! Anders, don’t you think your need to control is too much?”
Anders felt no remorse, saying, “You’ll always be mine. Only I can leave you; you can’t leave me!”
Sally lay helplessly on the sofa.
This wretched man!
Why wouldn’t he listen to reason?
Anders continued lecturing her for a long time before finally letting. her go. He then placed the food container he brought on the table.
“Come and eat!” Anders commanded.
Sally sat on the sofa without saying a word.
Seeing her silence, Anders sneered and took out the dishes,
placing them on the table in front of her.
Anders had cooked the meal himself.
His cooking was good, but Sally had no appetite.
She really didn’t want to see Anders.
Looking at the food, she felt a wave of nausea.
She remembered being imprisoned by Mary and others.
Back then, she wasn’t given fresh food.
The food she was forced to eat then was similar to what was in front of her, except it wasn’t fresh.
Sally’s forehead broke out in a cold sweat.
Those terrible memories resurfaced.
She turned her head away.
Anders thought she was disdaining his cooking, and his face. darkened.
“What? Don’t like it?” Anders asked dangerously.
Sally sneered, “No, it’s not to my taste–can’t you see?”
Anders grew angry again.
He glanced at the food and said, “If you don’t like it, don’t eat it. My goodwill is wasted.”
Sally knew he was being sarcastic.
Anders hated her silence. Just as he was about to scold her, his phone rang.
It was his assistant, saying there was a matter at the company.
Anders didn’t want to stay any longer. He got up and left without a word.
Once he was gone, Sally finally breathed a sigh of relief.
She always felt suffocated around him.
She dumped the food Anders had made and prepared her own. lunch.
In the afternoon, Calvin’s assistant called, saying it was time to sign the contract and he was waiting downstairs.
Sally frowned.
Her last encounter with Calvin hadn’t been pleasant, and she thought she had lost the endorsement opportunity.
Surprisingly, Calvin still wanted to work with her.
Sally wanted to refuse but thought of Andy’s school needs. She couldn’t afford to cancel the deal.
Andy needed school fees, and Sally had no other income. The endorsement fee would ease her financial burden.
She sighed, “Okay, come up.”
The assistant quickly came up to sign the contract.
Seeing the amount, Sally was shocked.
“Two million?” she asked instinctively.
The assistant, puzzled, remembered his boss’s instructions and hesitantly asked, “Miss Sally, do you find it too low?”
Sally beamed, “No, it’s more than I expected.”
Ah, she thought the fee was too high.
The assistant understood.
He added, “The price was set by our boss. If you have any questions, you can discuss them with him.”
Sally felt a wave of rejection.
Discuss with Calvin?
NOW
No thanks.
She didn’t want any interaction with him now.
She signed the contract quickly, “Alright! Looking forward to
working with you!”
The assistant shook her hand and left.
Sally thought she’d get the money after shooting the
advertisement, but by evening, her bank account showed a new deposit!
Counting the zeros–two million!
She couldn’t believe Calvin had paid so promptly.
A smile crept onto her face.
Great.
This money would make life easier for her and Andy for a while.
She could even use some of it to repay Anders.
She had only received a million from the auction sale.
She could easily repay that amount.
Sally then thought of something else.
With this money, she could start her revenge plan.
She called a private investigator.
“Well?” Sally asked, “Did you find anything useful?”
The investigator replied, “Miss Sally, I saw Mary with a strange man entering a club, but the security is tight. I couldn’t get in.”
“That’s fine,” Sally said, “Just tell me which club it was.”
The investigator gave her the location.
Sally touched the pinhole camera in her pocket and smiled coldly.
She always knew Mary had a chaotic personal life, but Anders thought she was innocent!
Anders believed Mary was spotless?
He’d soon see how wrong he was!
Sally left without hesitation.
At the club, security tried to stop her.
Sally was prepared. She claimed to be a member and showed her
- ID.
They let her in.
Sally walked calmly through the lobby and approached the front desk.
She inquired about Mary’s room, pretending to be her friend there to join the fun.
The receptionist, unsuspecting, gave her the room number.
Sally went upstairs.
To her surprise, Mary and the man hadn’t arrived yet.
Luck was on her side!
Sally quickly entered and hid the camera in a discreet spot.
As she was about to leave, Daniel walked in!
Seeing him, Sally’s breath caught.
Damn it, why was he here at such a crucial moment?
