Chapter the Wife 59

Chapter 59 The Murderer

They quickly arrived at the hospital, and as soon as Mia was wheeled into the operating room, Daniel turned on Sally.

Sally calmly watched as Daniel’s handsome face twisted with anger.

“Sally, Daniel said coldly as he approached her, “do you have anything to say for yourself about what happened today?”

Sally defended herself, “I have nothing to say. I won’t admit to something I didn’t do.”

Daniel couldn’t resist grabbing her by the throat, “You wicked woman, what nonsense are you spouting? You horrible troublemaker!”

Sally glared back at him, refusing to admit fault.

Daniel suddenly let go of her, “I’ll deal with you later. Let’s wait for the doctor’s report.”

After several hours, the emergency room door finally opened.

A pale–faced Mia was wheeled out by several medical staff and moved to a VIP ward per Daniel’s request.

Daniel dragged Sally into Mia’s room.

“How is she?” Daniel asked, worried.

“Mr. Daniel, I’m sorry,” the doctor said, “Miss Mia’s injuries are too severe… the baby couldn’t be saved.”

Mia immediately burst into tears at the right moment.

She wasn’t really that upset about losing the baby.

In reality, the child wasn’t even Daniel’s.

Mia liked to party at nightclubs, and the baby was a result of a

night stand from last month.

Daniel naively believed the child was his

Mia, afraid Daniel would discover her secret, decided to take drastic measures, faking a fall to frame Sally.

There was no way Sally could escape Daniel’s wrath now.

But then the doctor added something that truly upset Mia: “Miss Mia, I’m sorry to inform you that your body has suffered severe damage…

you won’t be able to have children in the future.”

Mia stared at the doctor in shock.

She had only intended to frame Sally, but now…

Daniel looked devastated.

“What? Mia won’t ever have children again?” he asked.

The doctor nodded silently.

Daniel closed his eyes in sorrow.

Mia started wailing, “No! My baby, my baby… I’ll never have children again, this is so painful…”

Daniel, heartbroken, said, “Mia, don’t be sad…”

“Sally, this is all your fault!” Mia screamed at Sally, “How could you be so heartless? Even if you want Daniel to yourself, you can’t push me down the stairs… you’re a murderer!”

Sally couldn’t defend herself.

Daniel could barely contain his rage, “Sally, even if you dislike Mia, how could you be so cruel? How could you push her down the stairs? How can you be so vicious?”

Sally hated Daniel’s accusatory tone, “You think I’m vicious? Daniel, do you think you’re any better?”

Just as Daniel was about to speak a female voice floated in, ‘Mia, you’ve lost your child, but so has Sally. Does that make you even?”

Everyone was startled

Mary walked in, looking glamorous

Sally’s eyes sharpened

Mia stared blankly at Mary

Mary glanced at Sally, then said to Mia, “Mia, Sally lost her child, so she took it out on yours.”

Mia’s eyes filled with cold fury. “So that’s it. Sally, you’re evil“”

Sally retorted, “You’re insane! I never thought of harming your child.

Mary fanned the flames, Mia, did you know? Sally even built a grave for her dead child if you want to avenge your baby. I have an idea.”

Mary didn’t spell it out, but everyone understood her implication!

Sally became agitated, “Mary, you’re insane! What are you talking about? What are you planning?”

Mary ignored her and laughed, “I know where her child’s grave is! I’ll take you there.”

Mary dangled her car keys and walked out.

Daniel followed closely behind.

“No–Sally desperately tried to stop them, but the bodyguards restrained her!

“Let me go, let me go!” Sally screamed, “Get out of my way!”

The bodyguards didn’t let her go.

Sally wept in despair.

An hour later, the bodyguards finally let Sally‘ ave.

She hurried downstairs, took a taxi to the cemetery, and saw a heart- wrenching scene.

Andy and Laura’s graves had been vandalized.

Seeing the devastation, Sally broke down in tears.

“Andy, Laura!” Sally cried, collapsing on the fallen tombstones.

Daniel and the others stood by, indifferent.

The bodyguards threw their shovels aside, saying nothing.

“You bastards!” Sally screamed, “I’ll fight you all!”

Sally, like a madwoman, charged at Mary, but Daniel shoved her, and

she fell to the ground.

Sally looked up, tear–streaked, at the demonic Daniel.

She had once thought Daniel was kind.

But after his amnesia, Sally saw his true colors.

Maybe his supposed kindness had been a facade all along.

Sally laughed bitterly, realizing her misjudgment.

Whether it was Anders or Daniel…

Men she had once thought well of were terrible at heart.

“I used to be heartbroken,” Sally told Daniel, “We were such good friends, but I watched you hurt me over and over… Daniel, I must be unlucky to have met you.”

Daniel felt a strange emotion.

She had killed Mia’s baby; he should hate her.

But whenever he saw her pitiful eyes, he felt a pang of pity.

Why?

“I’ll never forgive you!” Sally vowed.

Mary, pleased with Sally’s misery, said, “The show’s over, I’m leaving.”

Mary and her people left.

Daniel looked at the crumpled Sally and found her presence unbearable.

“Andy, Laura…” Sally clutched the dirt, crying her heart out.
