Chapter the Wife 47

Chapter 47 Meeting Austin Again

Mary looked at Sally’s pale, delicate face, feeling a flash of jealousy.

She sneered, “You probably don’t know, but there’s more to Laura’s death than you think,”

Sally’s eyes widened,

“What do you mean?”

Mary lazily leaned back on the sofa, “Oh… nothing much. I just wanted to say that your dear friend jumping into the sea was partly thanks to Lilith and me.”

Sally felt her scalp tingle, “What did you do to her?”

Mary smirked, “What did we do? We just told her that her health was poor and that after this miscarriage, she probably wouldn’t be able to have children in the future… She cried a lot, and I even comforted her a bit.”

Sally felt her blood run cold.

“Who could have guessed,” Mary shrugged innocently, “that she had such a weak mental state? Losing a child made her want to die, unlike you…*

Mary looked at Sally and laughed, “You’ve lost two children, right? But you’re still full of life, never having any suicidal thoughts.”

Mary’s words completely enraged Sally!

Sally couldn’t control her anger any longer. She stood up, grabbed the ashtray from the table, and tried to hit Mary with it!

But Sally wasn’t as strong as Mary. Before the ashtray could land, Mary swiftly dodged and then shoved Sally hard!

“Ah!” Sally fell onto the sofa awkwardly

op wasting your energy,” Mary looked at her with disdain, “Do you think you can beat me? You can’t, and neither could your dear friend. Hahaha…”

Tears filed Sally’s eyes.

Mary stood up and looked down at bef. “Sally, your existence is pointless Why are you still alive? You should jus die. You’re only polluting the w

Mary laughed arrogantly and left the apartment.

Sally lay on the sofa, letting her tears fall

She thought of Laura, who had died in despair, and felt even sadder.

Laura cared a lot about her reputation, end now she was dead, but the stigma of being a murderer remained

To outsiders, Laura seemed to have committed suicide out of guit, not because she had lost her child and was humiliated.

Sally knew she was week, but she still wanted to do something for Laura..

After sitting in the living room for a long time, she decided to call Anders.

When the call connected, Anders sounded very impatient, “What is it?

Sally got straight to the point, “Anders, you promised me before that you would prove Laura’s innocence. Have you forgotten?”

Anders frowned and then chuckled lightly.

“What’s this? Your dear friend is long gone, and you’re still thinking about proving her innocence?‘ Anders’s words were harsh.

Sally clenched her sleeve tightly.

“You promised! Sally said, almost crying. “How can you go back on your word?”

Anders spoke with disdain, “For me to keep my promise, you need to

satisfy me…. Have you done that? You aren’t even a decent bed partner. haha.”

Sally felt her temples throbbing with anger at Anders’s humiliating words

But thinking of Laura’s tragic death, Sally humbled herself, “Mr. Anders what do you want from me to be satisfied?”

s and room

Be there at 8 PM tonight, Anders said. ‘I dont like latecomers. You know,

what to da, right?”

Sally swallowed her pride and agreed.

At 7 PM, Sally dressed up and took a taxi to the address Anders gave her

It was the most famous club in the city

From the decor, Sally knew only the rich and powerful could afford to be here

With a nervous heart she went to the room Anders had mentioned.

When Sally opened the door, she saw several men in suits inside!

Seeing a young man among them, Sally’s face turned pale.

It was Gale!

What was Gale doing here?

Seeing Anders’s smirking face, Sally instantly understood.

Anders wanted to humiliate her in front of Gale!

Even though Sally admitted she had no image left to maintain, she still had complex feelings toward Gale

These feelings weren’t about love but a sense of camaraderie

Sally had prepared herself to be humiliated by Anders all night, but seeing Gale made her want to leave.

She instinctively turned to go, but Gale’s happy voice stopped her, “Sally? What are you doing here?”

Sally had no choice but to stand her ground.

Gale approached her excitedly and turned her around.

“Sally!” Gale was clearly thrilled, “I was just about to look for you, and here

you are

Sally tried not to look at Anders’s dark expression and forced a smile,” Gale, were you looking for me?”

Gale immediately turned and led Sally to a blond man in the room, “Hey! Austin, you said you needed someone for your ad shoot. How about this lady?”

Austin?

Sally was surprised and looked at the man in front of her.

This man… he was the one sitting with Anders at the auction!

Seeing Austin made Sally’s face turn red.

Not from shyness, but from embarrassment.

Apart from Anders, only Austin knew what she had done at the auction …

Austin was also surprised to see Sally. He glanced at Anders, who remained expressionless.

Austin, who had a laid–back nature, joked when he saw Anders’s reaction, Anders, if I’m not mistaken, this lady was at the auction…”

“Austin!” Anders interrupted sternly.

Austin didn’t know why Anders suddenly changed his expression, but seeing he was unhappy, Austin didn’t tease him further and turned his attention back to Sally.

“Lovely lady, we meet again,” Austin said cheerfully, “Do you remember

me?”

Sally hesitated but nodded slightly.

Thank is the Par Auchent
