Chapter the Wife 42
Chapter 42 Banning Mia
“Sally…” Linda was momentarily stunned.
“Oh… It’s me,” Linda smiled. “How are you feeling, Sally? Any better?”
Sally nodded silently, but quickly averted her gaze when she saw who was standing behind Linda.
Linda assumed that Sally’s current miserable state was caused by Anders. She glared at her brother and said, “Alright, Sally is awake now. There’s nothing more for you here. If you have nothing else to do, just leave.”
Anders was shocked, “This is my bedroom, and you’re telling me to leave?”
Linda was about to argue when Sally quickly interjected, “It’s fine, it’s fine… I feel much better now. I’ll leave right away.”
Sally struggled to sit up in bed.
“Hey…” Linda wanted to help her lie back down, but Sally got out of bed anyway.
Since you’re injured, you should stay here and rest. Why act so melodramatic and insist on leaving?” Anders was in a foul mood.
Sally held back her tears and walked out without a word.
“Can’t you speak more gently?” Linda angrily punched Anders‘ shoulder. “Why can’t you be kinder to Sally?”
Anders snorted and remained silent.
Linda sighed, “It’s so cold outside. I wonder if she’ll be able to get a taxi home.”
Linda’s words reminded Anders. He grabbed his car keys and walked out.
Anders‘ intention was to take Sally home, but to his disappointment, when he got outside, Sally was already gone.
This woman sure ran fast; she had already caught a taxi and left.
Anders sighed and drove away from the villa.
When Sally got back to her place, she saw Gale sitting by the apartment door, looking somewhat forlorn.
“Gale? What are you doing here?” Sally asked in surprise.
Hearing Sally’s voice, Gale turned around happily!

Seeing Sally, Gale immediately ran up to her.
“Sally, where did you go? I was worried about you and came back, but you weren’t home.” Gale looked a bit hurt.
Sally forced a smile, “I had something to do… Gale, thank you for caring about me.”
She opened the door and invited Gale inside
With the warmth from the heater, the coldness on their bodies quickly dissipated. Sally felt the pain in her back and couldn’t hold on any longer. “Gale, I’m not feeling well. I need to sleep now…”
Before she finished her sentence, Sally fainted on the sofa!
“Sally!” Gale was shocked and rushed to her side. Seeing her unconscious, he felt
very uneasy.
What had Sally just been doing?
Gale carefully carried Sally to the bed and gently covered her with a blanket.
“Sleep well.” Gale lightly kissed her forehead, then lay by the bedside, holding her hand, and soon fell asleep.
At that moment, a car stopped outside the villa.
Anders walked in quietly and opened the door.
Knowing Sally’s condition, he didn’t want to disturb her rest.
However, when Anders entered the bedroom, he saw Sally sleeping soundly, with Gale lying by the bed, holding her hand!
The sight was a stab to Anders‘ heart.
He clenched his fists tightly.
Instead of getting angry, he felt a deep sense of defeat.
Anders left the villa silently.
Recalling the scene, a surge of anger rose within him.
He called his assistant.
“Find out who caused Sally’s injuries today, Anders said. “I need to know within the hour.”
The assistant quickly mobilized his contacts to investigate the cause of Sally’s injuries.

Within an hour, the assistant sent Anders detailed information.
“Sir,” the assistant reported, “According to sources, Sally was framed by Mia, and Daniel, in a fit of rage, hurt her.”
“Daniel?” Anders was shocked. “That guy, though temperamental, would never hit a woman. What’s going on?”
The assistant explained, “It might be because of that woman, Mia… She accused Sally of hiring someone to hit her with a car, which led to everything that happened next.”
Anders sneered, “Who is this Mia?”
Mia was Mary’s close friend, but the extremely sensitive Mary had never let Mia appear in front of Anders.
This was why Anders didn’t know who Mia was.
“She’s an artist under our company,” the assistant said. “Her resources were mediocre until she started dating Daniel. Now, her resources almost rival Mary’s.”
Anders laughed coldly, “I don’t want to see Mia in any corner of the entertainment industry from now on.”
The assistant quickly understood Anders‘ meaning, “Yes, sir. I’ll arrange for Mia to be blacklisted immediately.”
After all this, Anders took a deep breath.
He watched the snowflakes fluttering in the dark night. For some reason, a memory of his teenage years, watching the snow with Sally on Christmas, flashed through his mind.
It had been many years, and he thought he had forgotten those moments. But tonight, the memory resurfaced unexpectedly.
Heh.
Anders sneered and drove away without any hesitation.
The next morning, Sally woke up feeling the weight on her hand.
Her discomfort made her open her eyes slowly.
Seeing Gale resting his head on her hand, Sally was wide–eyed!
“Gale? Why are you here?” Sally asked in surprise.
Gale slowly opened his eyes
Meeting Saly’s gaze, he smiled. “Sally, you’re awake.”
Sally was silent for a moment, then asked, “Did you sleep like this all night?”
th… maybe… Gale couldn’t help but stretch, then he cried out, “Ow… my back!”
Sally quickly helped him up gently.
Gale shook his head a bit and said, “Last night was a really tiring sleep.”
Sally chuckled, “You should go freshen up. I’ll make breakfast.”
Gale’s eyes lit up instantly, “Really? Sally, you’re making breakfast for me?”
Sally nodded seriously, “Of course… You’ve helped me so much. Making breakfast for you is the least I can do.”
Gale beamed happily.
Sally went into the kitchen and started working efficiently.
