Chapter the Wife 39

Chapter 39 Confrontation

“Come, take a look!” Ray glanced at Daniel. “You always thought Mia was a kind and lovely girl? Watch this video, and you’ll see what kind of person she really

Daniel, still skeptical, opened the laptop.

A video soon appeared on the screen.

It was clearly surveillance footage.

In the footage, Mia, dressed elegantly, ked leisurely into a restaurant with a

man.

The man in the footage was Oliver.

Although the video had no sound, it was clear from their facial expressions that they were having an enjoyable conversation.

Daniel’s expression quickly changed.

Meanwhile, Oliver, sitting on the ground, was oblivious to the contents of the video and continued to insist, “It was Sally who ordered me to hurt Mia. Don’t be fooled by this woman; she’s a vile person!”

Daniel glanced at him but said nothing.

Gale, smiling, asked, “Oliver, you claim Sally hired you to harm Mia, right?”

“Of course!” Oliver nodded confidently.

“Oh… really?” Gale’s smile deepened. “Then let me ask you, did you know Mia before this?”

Eager to clear himself, Oliver quickly replied, “Of course not! Sally gave me a photo of Mia; that’s how I knew who she was. The day I hit her with the car was the first time we met.”

Gale’s eyebrows raised in surprise. “Is that so? Are you sure?”

I’m telling the truth!” Oliver insisted. “It was Sally who hired me to run over Mia.

Daniel’s face had turned entirely dark.

He looked at Gale, who was also looking at him.

“Daniel, what do you have to say now?” Gale asked with a mocking smile. Do you see what kind of person Mia is?”

Daniel, furious, handed the laptop to a bodyguard, who then showed the video to Oliver.

After watching the footage, Oliver’s face turned ashen!

“What do you have to say now?” Ray looked at Oliver with disdain. “You claimed you didn’t know Mia… But this survance footage is from last week. How strange, considering you said you had never met her before. So why were you having dinner with her?”

Oliver’s lips trembled, unable to utter a word.

“Daniel,” Gale looked at him with a smile, this is your beloved Mia… such a kind -hearted person.”

Daniel clenched his fists tightly. After a few seconds, he kicked Oliver hard!

“Ah! Master Daniel, have mercy! Have mercy! Oliver begged. “I was wrong, I was really wrong!”

Daniel didn’t respond and continued to kick him several times.

Oliver howled in pain.

“Oliver, you better explain everything clearly,” Gale said coldly. “Otherwise, some people might continue to believe that Sally is infatuated with them.”

It was obvious who Gale was referring to.

Daniel, seething with anger, glared at Oliver, “Tell the truth, or I’ll deal with you myself.”

Oliver, fearing for his life, finally said, “It it was Mia who instructed me! She said if I hit her with the car and framed Sally, Daniel would avenge her…”

With Oliver’s confession, Daniel had no grounds to argue.

Gale, satisfied, looked at Daniel with a hint of challenge, “What do you say now? Do you believe it?”

Daniel remained silent.

Gale didn’t waste more words on him and took Sally away. As they passed by Daniel, Gale coldly remarked, “Sally wouldn’t even accept me, let alone

someone like you.”

Gale and Sally left.

Daniel watched Oliver lying on the ground and then ordered his bodyguards,‘ Lock him up! I’ll deal with him later!”

Ignoring Oliver’s pleas, the bodyguards forcibly took him away.

Daniel stood there in a daze for a few minutes before getting in his car and driving off.

He only wanted to confront Mia now.

Daniel couldn’t believe the woman he loved could be so malicious!

Why was she so evil? Why?

Driving furiously, Daniel soon arrived at the hospital.

Opening the door to Mia’s room, he saw her, bandaged and looking weak, sitting on the bed.

Seeing Daniel, Mia’s eyes lit up!

She had texted Daniel earlier, complaining about her pain and playing the

victim.

But to her surprise, Daniel, who usually responded instantly, had been unusually silent this time.

Mia assumed he was busy and didn’t think much of it. Truthfully, she preferred hearing about Sally being severely punished by Daniel.

Sally, that wretched woman, deserved to die long ago, but she was as resilient as a cockroach, always appearing in Mia and Mary’s lives!

Sally was simply unbearable.

Now, seeing Daniel, Mia naturally assumed he was there to accompany her.

With a weak voice, Mia said, “Daniel… Why did you take so long? I missed you…”

Daniel didn’t hug her as he usually did. Instead, he stood in front of her, his

face dark.

Mia quickly sensed something was wrong!

Usually, Daniel greeted her with a warm smile, but now he looked unapproachable.

Cautiously, Mia asked, “Daniel, what’s wrong?”

“Mia, I need to ask you something,” Daniel said seriously. “You must answer truthfully.”

“Okay, ask away,” Mia forced a smile.

Taking a deep breath, Daniel asked, “You think Sally orchestrated the car accident, right?”

Mia, with wide, teary eyes, replied, “Yes! It was Sally… Oh my God, you have no idea. After being friends with her for so many years, she tried to kill me! She’s so dark–hearted!”
