Chapter 11 Borrowing Money

Sally’s eyes immediately sparkled with hopel

Although Anders disliked her, he should save her now that she was in deep trouble, right?

Sally couldn’t help but shout, “Anders, help me! Help me! Mia wants to kill me!”

However, there was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone.

A few seconds later, there was a faint laugh.

Sally was stunned on the spot!

It was Mary!

Sally’s face turned pale instantly.

Mia was very satisfied with Sally’s current expression.

“Surprised to hear my voice?” Mary laughed, “Sally, Anders is taking a bath. Do you want me to call him?” Taking a bath?

Sally’s eyes quickly reddened.

Everyone present knew what Mary’s words meant.

After saying that, Mia raised her hand and slashed at Sally’s hand with a knife!

Watching her severed ring finger, Sally was sobbing uncontrollably.

Mia threw the blood–stained fruit knife aside and said to the two bodyguards, “Alright, let’s go!”

They left with Sally’s severed finger.

After they left, Sally clutched her finger and cried as she left the hotel.

She went to the hospital, where the doctor first stopped the bleeding. After learning that Sally’s severed finger was missing, the doctor regretfully said, “Miss, If you can’t find the severed finger, I’m afraid I must tell you that your hand will be permanently incomplete.

Sally silently wept.

She was so full of hate, truly full of hate!

Sally rested in her apartment for two days. On the weekend, she intended to go back to the hospital to check on her finger. To her surprise, an unexpected guest arrived at her apartment.

Seeing her long–lost best friend, Sally was stunned on the spot!

Laura was equally excited to see her..

Before long, they were hugging and crying together.

“Laura, why are you here?” Sally asked tearfully.

Laura was now married and had a previous boyfriend before that.

Of course, her ex–boyfriend was history.

Laura, being an orphan, became good friends with Robert in the orphanage.

Robert was adopted by a wealthy family a year before Laura. To her surprise, they were adopted by the same family.

Reuniting after a year, they were both excited. But as they grew up, their feelings changed.

Robert fell for another girl, and Laura, watching it all, deeply loved her adoptive brother.

She didn’t know how Robert felt about her, but seeing him get engaged to his fiancée, Lilith, broke her

heart.

Robert had never loved her, right?

Laura felt foolish for ever hoping her brother would love her.

Then, things took a turn for the worse.

On Robert and Lilith’s engagement day, Laura was drugged and placed in Robert’s bed.

Witnessing this, Lilith was heartbroken and fled the engagement scene, only to be hit by a speeding car.

Lilith’s injuries were severe, especially her legs. The doctor said she might never walk again.

Naturally, Robert was furious and soon arranged his sister’s marriage.

Laura was forced to marry a cripple.

Remembering the past, Sally felt heartbroken.

She said to Laura, “Your husband is so controlling, you must have sneaked out today, right?”

Laura nodded and then handed a package to Sally.

“What’s this?” Sally asked curiously, holding the heavy package.

Laura whispered, “It’s 200,000 yuan. I know Andy is sick. This is my help. Sally, forgive me for not being able to help more.”

Sally couldn’t believe Laura was willing to help her so much!

Tears welled up in her eyes. “Laura, thank you, really thank you…”

Laura’s husband was very controlling. If he knew Laura had lent her so much money, he’d be furtous….

Wait, where did Laura get so much money?

Sally asked, “Where did you get this money?

Laura instinctively touched her wrist.

Sally noticed something unusual.

“Where’s your bracelet?” Sally asked, holding her wrist, “What happened to your bracelet?”

Robert gave Laura a bracelet when she turned eighteen, Laura loved it and never took it off.

Suddenly, Sally realized something

She was shocked and asked, “Did you sell that bracelet to get this money…”

Laura remained silent.

“No, I must confront her!” Laura became more agitated and was about to rush out.

Sally quickly stopped her, “Laura, don’t go! It wasn’t Mary who hurt me…

Laura’s eyes turned red.

She wanted to say something, but her phone rang.

As soon as Laura answered, an impatient voice came through, “Where have you been? Get back here now!

It was Laura’s husband, Jack.

Jack had a bad temper. Sally was furious hearing his bossy tone.

“Is this how he usually talks to you?” Sally asked.

Soon, the man on the phone noticed something was off, “Who’s talking over there?”

Laura quickly covered the receiver and said, “Uh… I’m coming back now!”

Laura quickly ran out.

Watching her friend’s hurried departure, Sally felt uneasy.

Looking at the money in her hand, Sally made a silent decision.

Laura had helped her so much; she couldn’t waste her friend’s kindness!

Sally searched online for job listings and finally found a decent–paying part–time job. She had no other income, and she couldn’t touch the money Laura lent her.
