Their Mate, My Saviors Chapter 64
-POV Edon-
I'm not sure what time it was, but I stretched looking lost and confused. Why does it seem like we've been in this room for days? Well...after how much fun we had, who knows, we very well could have been. I opened my eyes and Vil was snoring on the far side of the bed, but Ayame wasn't there. I bolted out of bed and almost fell off, trampling Conri along the way. "Ayame!" I called out and looked around the room frantically. Where in the hell did she go?!
"What's going on?!" Vil hopped out of bed with me while Conri was rolling a string of curse words from his lips at his probably broken leg. Whatever, it'll heal.
"Ayame!" I called out again and started looking around the room before opening the door to her closet. Nothing. I glanced out the window and it was still dark outside. There is no way she left this room. No...she wouldn't have.
Was last night a dream? Hell no. I can smell her scent all over the place. I finally went to the bathroom and the door was locked. "Ayame!" I called again, banging on the door. Still nothing.
I growled irritably and rammed my body into the door, stumbling into the bathroom. She was snuggled on the floor, out like a light with a pillow under her and one of the blankets from the couch. I scooped her up off the floor and rested my hand on her head. I will replace this door with something that can't lock next time! "Ayame...wake up princess." I whispered softly in her ear.
"Why was she in the bathroom with the fucking door locked?!" Vil shouted, sliding to the floor feeling the same relief I surely was.
"I'm literally going to skewer you two!" Conri bellowed once he'd finally got on his feet. Good. I guess it wasn't broken.
However, his outburst woke her up. Her eyes fluttered open and she looked extremely confused until she got her barings and looked between the three of us. "Good morning." She mumbled before snuggling into my chest.
"What were you doing in the bathroom?" I asked, pulling her sweat-slicked hair behind her ear.
She gasped and pulled away from me as if she had just remembered something. "I...ummm...I had to stay in here." She pulled herself into the corner and pulled her legs up to her chest.
"Why are you hiding from us?" I asked curiously. We had a great night...or nights and now she's looking like we are going to hurt her?
She shook her head. "D-don't worry about it. I didn't want to wake you three, but um...can you get Emily's mom for me...um...please. N-nothing's wrong, I just need to talk to her really quick." She asked and her face looked flushed. Emily is in the hospital, so that explains why she's asking for her mom instead of Emily herself, but I don't think her parents have moved into the beta floor yet.
"You don't look too good, angel. Are you sure you should have been up at all? I mean you were sleeping in the bathroom. You should have woke us up." Vil chimed in worriedly.
"I...I'm okay, I just need her mom...please. I promise I'll be fine. I just need a little help." Her paled cheeks were starting to redden and I got up immediately.
"Yeah, I'll go get her." I'm sure this is a girl thing and it's a girl thing I'm not about to entertain. I leaned over and kissed her forehead before heading out the room for a shirt. Thankfully, at some point last night, I was at least able to get my pants back on or I would have been stumbling all over my brothers naked. "Go back to bed if you can, princess." I called, slipping a t-shirt over my head and walking downstairs to find Kyle.
I knocked on his door and I heard an irritated groan before Kyle came to the door half asleep. "Do you have any idea what time it is?" He said, rubbing the back of his head. "Some people didn't get to roll around in bed all night and day. It's fuckin' 4 a.m. dude!" Oh, so it was more than just a night.
I rolled my eyes. "Is Emily's mom here?"
"The hell?"
"Ayame needs her and she says she's fine, but she needs Emily's mom. Have her parents moved into the pack house."
Kyle groaned. "Lucky for you, they moved in last month because of Em's complications. Come on." Kyle sauntered over to the in-law suite on his floor and knocked on the door. He yawned again and rubbed his hands through his disheveled hair while his eyes started to droop. "Do you have any idea what time it is?!" Emily's dad was a warrior but he was still much smaller than us. It was quite comical seeing him trying to protect Emily and assert his dominance over the beta of our territory every chance he got. Including now.
"Is Ms.Atal here?" Kyle asked, not even entertaining his father-in-law. Let's be real, he is not a morning person. Never has been, never will be.
"Of course she is, it's 4 a.m.!" He hissed back harshly.
"Good, Luna needs her." Kyle countered and Mr.Atal's eyes grew into saucers, all authority pining gone to the wind.
"Honey!" He shouted, running through the house like the queen was looking for them.
Technically, she is.
I smirked at that and Ms.Atal came out in a robe and pulled her curly hair away from her face. "G-good morning, Alpha. What can I do for the Luna today?" She asked, catching her breath.
I nodded and pointed upstairs. "She needs help with something, but she won't tell us what it is." I grumbled irritably. I guess it still annoys me and my spirit that she is asking for someone else right after we completed the mating bond. "She asked for you though." She furrowed her brow, but nodded anyway. "No worries. I'll follow you alpha."
I nodded and headed back up the stairs. Once I made it into our bathroom, Ayame was right where I left her and Conri was still pissed, sitting on the couch while Vil sat on the bathroom counter, staring at our little mate. I glared at Vil and he turned to face me. "What? She said she was fine on the floor." He grumbled.
Ms.Atal looked between the four of us while I didn't respond to my idiotic brother. He could have just carried her into the bedroom. Ms.Atal took a deep breath and headed into the bathroom. "Hi sweetie. Edon came to get me. What do you need dear?" She asked and Ayame glanced at us before biting her lip and looking away. Ms.Atal spun on her heels. "Can you two go in there please?" She asked with more of a motherly tone than a subordinate, pointing to our room's living area.
"The hell did she just say?!" Vil growled through the link, but I could tell this was not the time.
I sighed and pulled him out of the room. "We will be in our office." I called.
"Th-thank you." I heard Ayame call before we closed the door behind us and headed toward the office. We were already awake anyway. Might as well get some work done. Conri was still grumbling behind us, but surprisingly, he was even worse than Kyle when he had to wake up early. It wasn't too long before we heard a knock at the door. Vil made it to the door before Conri or I could even think. "What happened?" He asked without even letting her in.
Ms.Atal chuckled and Vil furrowed his brow before moving out of the way. "Nothing, nothing. She is fine. She just needed a...mom's help of sorts. She's all set but she's feeling a little tired, so she's staying in bed for the day. You will all be nice to her though." She smiled and waved before heading back to her room.
"Why is she still in bed?" Conri asked. Right. He was too ticked to notice what was going on.
I glanced at the clock. It was only 6am now. "Well, it's still early and she did sleep on the bathroom floor for the few hours we gave her sleep." I added.
Vil smirked at the memory and nodded in satisfaction. Then, he froze and shot a glance at Conri and I. "So then, why are we still in here?" Vil asked.
"Good point." I closed my laptop and headed back to our room, but I realized Vil was the only one following me.
"Conri..." I called.
"You guys deal with it." Conri said. "I'll handle business. We've been ignoring it for two days. Someone needs to be the alpha around here."
Vil smirked. "Such a man of sacrifice." Vil called back.
We quietly went into the room and she was snuggled in like five blankets in the center of the bed. I grit my teeth realizing the sheets had been changed and she smelled like her favorite soap. I guess Ms.Atal had just made herself at home. I snuggled in next to Ayame and pulled her into my chest. "What's wrong, princess?"
She shook her head. "Cramps." She moaned irritably and Vil and I looked at each other for a second before we started laughing our asses off. In our defense, it was our first response! Childish...? One hundred percent and we were both properly slapped for that.
"Okay, okay, we are sorry angel. We will go get you some ice cream. Fair?" Vil asked, kissing her nose while she pouted her lips.
"Mint chocolate chip?" She asked as a grin started to replace her pout.
"With whipped cream and whatever else you want." He promised. "We will also bring you breakfast in bed."
"Blueberry pancakes and bacon?" Ayame added.
"Coming right up." I called before kissing her forehead. Vil and I decided to go down to grab everything together and Conri was in the kitchen sipping his coffee.
"So?" He asked. "Did we break her or something?" He sipped his black coffee and Vil and I looked at each other like we were hiding candy from our older brother. "What?" He growled.
That did it. We both started laughing again and got to work while he continued to push us for the answers we weren't going to give him.
-POV Ayame-
Talk about embarrassing! I guess I didn't really think this one through. The amount of times I've gone to the store, I really should have bought some supplies for this. It's been a while since I've been consistent and I haven't really thought much of it. After being with my triplets, I was completely fine until I woke up. The pain was a new kind of real. Thankfully, Emily's mother helped me out, and, of course, the guys got a good kick out of it.
Once they got control of themselves, they at least didn't make fun of me. They were really sweet. I think they were more relieved that they didn't break me or something. After a few days, I felt much better and I'm actually back at training again. I stared at myself in the mirror and the marks they left were still a bit red, but everytime either of them kissed me on their marks, I felt my whole body crave their touch. That did not help me while mother nature was in town.
I grazed my hand over them and it felt almost like a dream that I didn't want to wake up from. I took a deep breath and tied my hair into a ponytail and tightened it in place. Then, I smiled at my reflection with a healthier Ayame looking right back with little to no visible scars, a smile on her face, and much fuller cheeks than I've ever seen before. I spun on my heels and headed out towards the training fields.
"Hey, little one. Ready to train today?" Conri asked, slipping his arm over my shoulder.
"Ready as I'll ever be." I confessed.
"That's great to hear. Let's see how you fair now with your new...added accessories." He grazed his lips over his mark and my cheeks flushed almost immediately.
I furrowed my brow and leaned away from my mate while he growled irritably at the loss of contact. "What do you mean by now versus before?"
He spun me around and looked down at me seriously. "When you were marked by us, your body started to shift. You might not be able to become a full wolf yet, but your body will get stronger while your instincts will become sharper. Your agility will become the embodiment of your chosen spirit."
I smiled excitedly. "Really?! That sounds like fun!" I noted, but I feel like a 'however' is about to be noted here....
"It is, but...you need to make sure you don't hurt anyone. For now, you will only train with the three of us. We will monitor you closely." He said.
I nodded slowly. "Okay, that doesn't seem so bad." I shrugged it off. More time with my mates. How can I be annoyed about that?
"Awwwhhh, and I just got back to help." I spun around to see Emily walking up with Kyle and I was too happy to think about anything else. I ran up to her, plowing her onto the floor. Right...strength upgrade...got it.
I jumped off of her and landed lightly on my feet. Additional agility...right. I rubbed my hands over my slicked back hair. "Sorry! I didn't mean to." I bit my lip and Kyle helped her up.
She grinned at me and glanced at my marks. "No problem! I'm too happy to be out of that hospital for anything to let me down. Honestly, I'm hoping to spar with you soon. It seems like you will meet your match then."
I shifted my shock to smugness and rolled my eyes. "We shall see about that." I taunted her. She laughed, running up to me and throwing her arm over my shoulder.
"I'm not too sure how much I can do with my warden -"
"Hey! I heard that!" Kyle called, interrupting her, as he walked towards my triplets convening together.
Emily scoffed and pulled me towards another ring. "But I can help you adjust to your opponents. I can coach from the sidelines. Give you pointers, you know?"
I nodded and hopped into the ring. "I can't wait!"
She grinned and nodded to the person behind me and I wasn't prepared to see Edon was up first...or anywhere near us to be honest. How did he get from where the guys were to right behind me? I think these guys were holding back this whole time! I've only fought with him once and let's just say the bruises had bruises. "You tell me when you want to tap out at any time, princess. No ignoring your injuries this time." He warned and, I blushed. Maybe I left out the part that I was the reason it got that far. He was livid when he saw my injuries. After that, he hasn't trained with me since.
"O-of course." I couldn't help it! Ever since I got these stupid marks, every thought and movement I make is closer to them. Every word they speak makes me want to listen. I hope I'll get used to it soon. It was bad before, but it's unbearable now.
He grinned and leaned forward a bit while his arms were spread out. I've noticed that bears tend to go for intimidation over anything else. Their goal is to subdue the enemy as soon as possible with their strength and size. My goal, as the wolf, and well, just the overall smaller person, is to avoid him as best as I can. If he wraps his arms around me, I'm done for. Not literally, he would never hurt me, but figuratively. No one can get out of the grip of a werebear.
"Fighters to your positions!" Emily called and I took a breath, placing myself on the balls of my feet, ready to move around the mat at a moment's notice. I looked up into his eyes as they flashed yellow and a grin fell from his lips. "Fight!"
