Chapter Enemies
“Some time ago, you faced the Supreme Life Being, Lady Naxo,” Vol-jan reviews G’s works. “What I got from Index Atlas about the special people she has over at her side shocked me…”
“So you went ahead and checked the contents on your own, huh?” G sighs, “Anyway, there are currently sixteen super strong beings working under her, plus they are of different races. One of those, I knew just by looking at her, but the others are still a total mystery.”
“Not for long,” Vol-jan hands the data over at G. “You never told me that a special person of mine is a part of that team.”
“Who is that, might explain it to me?” G looks at the pictures of the gods.
“Des-Lo,” Vol-jan points at the photo of a man with a bluish to indigo hair color. “He was someone I would consider as my nemesis during my time in the main verse during the ancient times.”
“It says here that he is a Life being,” G reviews the data Index had gathered. “Naxo could’ve turned him into one of her own…”
“I guess this war is interesting after all,” Vol-jan cracks the knuckles of his fists. “I’ll kill him no matter how many times she would bring him back!”
“There is one that intrigued me just now,” G examines the goddess in shining blue color. “She is an Essential being. Perhaps she is the one Gazbleir Celxion was referring to…”
“So she is the first target?” Vol-jan takes a look at her photo. “Damn, look at those jiggly puffs…”
G awkwardly stares at him.
“Oh come on, I know you were looking at those things too!” Vol-jan reacts violently. “Now, what the hell? So what happened with the matches?”
“Ask your teammates,” G posts the photos on the board. “Also, I want you to call Savos. I want to ask him about these Celestial beings in the picture.”
“If you weren’t that strong, I would’ve probably killed you by now.” Vol-jan opens the door to head out, “Seeing Des-Lo on the enemy side though made me reconsider things…”
“You wouldn’t betray your creator, my twin sister, won’t you?” G checks at the other beings. “She was really hoping you’d change, you know?”
“I’m going now,” Vol-jan leaves.
“The godly race of the Creation beings or Celestial beings are classified into four different sub-races:
ØThe Angelic Race comprises of angels of different hierarchies, of course. They live in Heaven and they are the closest to Lord Reax, my father. The person leading them is my mother who is hailed as the Queen of the Angels, Riam. As for me, I don’t know if I am classified as an angel or not. I’m still trying to convince them about the true intentions of Lord Reax, my father.
ØThe Demonic Race comprises of devils and their own caste system. I’ve been visited countless times by my late elder brother, Meltan Luminoir, who was previously an angel. Of course, he became the first devil after he abandoned the angelic race and well, they turned into devils… him and his followers. The devils are banished from Hell Verse after Bezal killed Meltan Luminoir. I’m still shocked to see Bezal becoming our ally despite all of this. But, maybe he caught a scent just like I did and so he changed sides. Souls of the sinful dead mortals apparently transform into devils overtime.
ØThe Fallen Race were angels who never transformed into devils and never followed Meltan Luminoir in Hell Verse. Led by that man with the wavy green hair in that photo, Semquaza has been also equated with Meltan Luminoir in literature as mortals thought of them as the same being. The thing, though, is they are not the same being for Semquaza introduced enchantments called mystic arts different from this universe’s to the mortals and mated with them to which I believe, my father forbids as the stories would say. Seeing them here with Lazarel and Galvavon, I am convinced that my father was in support all along while pretending to be righteous, though I was convinced for a long time. This would be blasphemy for me since Lord Reax is painted as a perfect being.
ØThe Risen Race were devils who left Hell Verse to interact with the mortals. They are the same as those things you call the Elementals and monsters in Sleep world. They are somewhat neutral in everything and that they just wanted to observe the mortals and interact with them discreetly. The fairies led by Puck, himself, is a good example of the Risen Race. I also got his back…”
After listening to Savos, G gives him the photos of the three Celestial beings. “Tell me everything I need to know about these three…”
“Well to start,” Savos looks at Semquaza in the picture, “this one is the leader of the so-called Grigori. He is the magician and enchanter of the fallen angels. Deceptive, cunning, and manipulative, he is the brains of the trio. I don’t know much about him other than that though.”
“Grigori means Watchers, am I wrong?”
“That is right,” Savos responds. “Do you have any other questions, G?”
“What do you call a Celestial being’s power?”
“Miracles,” he waves his hand as golden glitters of light appear. “The power of Semquaza is a Miracle the same as my own Miracle. However, his miracle was able to create a new branch of power given to fallen angels and wizards or hybrids.”
“What are these hybrids or wizards?”
“WIZARDS or hybrids are demigods. They are part human and part Celestial Being. Semquaza’s miracle of Enchantments gave birth to the Celestial power of Mystic Arts. You see, I am a user of Mystic Arts, myself. I may not be a demigod but I am still human and god at the same time… just like you.”
“So Mystic Arts, Miracles, and your Prayers manifested as weapons…”
“Correct.”
“I see,” G fills in the collected data. “What are the Miracles of these two other Fallen Celestial beings?”
“The Miracle of Lazarel are weapons while Galvavon is decay. That’s all I know, for now, G.”
“Alright, that would be all,” G shakes hands with him. “It’s always a pleasure to have you here…”
“About that,” Savos reminds G. “You promised me something before, do you remember?”
“Resurrect Meltan Luminoir, your brother.” G grins, “How could I forget?”
“Can you really bring him back to life? I’m not doubtful of what you can do, but when a god is killed… it is oblivion, no soul whatsoever…”
“Not without a core,” G shows him Savos’ totem. “I made this in the event that you get killed… you’ll return back to life.”
“I’m aware of that, but what of those who already died?”
“Bezal never killed him,” G makes a shocking revelation. “The Previous King of Hell Verse may have been fatally injured, but let me assure you that at that time… Bezal already had doubts about his mission. If you want to know more about him, you should ask his full story from his conception up to now.”
“Thank goodness,” Savos falls to his knees. “Thank goodness…”
Chapter 9: Enemies
“You partnered me with her on purpose, didn’t you?” Crystl storms into G’s room. “You cannot manipulate my feelings, G. Remember that!”
“I’m going to excuse myself,” Savos heads out of the room. He then lowers his head, “G… Crystl…”
“Just wait outside, Savos,” G nods at him. “I’ll call you back as soon as we finish this issue…”
Crystl looks at Savos and lowers his head as a sign of mutual respect. As soon as Savos closes the door, Crystl continues with his rant.
“I mean… what are you planning on doing, G?”
“You are falling for her, is that correct?” G tries to get the gist of what is currently happening.
“N-No!” Crystl denies it. “As I said, I won’t fall for her!”
“That is bad and I’m not planning on shipping the two of you together…”
“What?”
“You heard me right, Cyrrus,” G scratches his forehead. “You already have a queen back at Death Verse… that is uncalled for and I’m not doing anything…”
“So this is a misunderstanding?” he calms down after realizing what he did. However, he gets triggered upon hearing the word queen, “I will not marry anyone and I will not be the King of Death Verse!”
“Of course, you won’t,” G sighs. “You are stubborn after all. About Lightzelle, I guess I would warn you about her backstory for a bit. She is pure, unlike her counterpart. She values mission above all else and she loves everyone in a familial manner, not in any other form of love. There is one least bit cruel thing about her though, despite her sweetness and friendliness. In truth, she has no personal attachments to anyone at all. That’s just how she was created by Anthony…”
“Who is Anthony again?”
G sighs, “Anthony Zeal Deepspace is Axil, Supreme Spatial being, in his full-human form. Now, set those mixed feelings aside and let us move on with more important things, shall we?”
“Yes, kuh,” Crystl sighs. “I’m going out then…”
“No, just call Savos back. I want you to listen…”
“Yes… very well… …”
“So Savos, how was your fight against Kiri?” G asks.
They are all sitting down comfortably in the mansion’s living room area since the others are busy outside doing their own thing. All three of them in their own comfortable couches to sit on…
“It wasn’t really a win for me, but I guess I could call it victory…” Savos sighs, “he surrendered after a few hours of me dodging, deflecting, and blocking his attacks non-stop. He was totally on edge and he was very impatient but I never attacked him. He was a lot disappointed for what happened… that he gave up.”
“Wait, that’s it?” Crystl can’t believe his ears. “You must be damn good…”
“He is actually,” G smirks. “Kiri is very powerful and fast. He can manipulate gravity and yet Savos just ignored those threats. I’m impressed. I guessed that Kiri realized that he can’t catch you at all…”
“I believe so too,” he happily agrees.
“However, you can’t keep on doing those forever,” G reminds him of the enemies. “They won’t be that neglectful as Kiri was…”
“You need to fight, Savos…” Crystl understands what G is trying to imply. “I can help you train with some fighting styles suited for you.”
“That’s a good idea,” G glances at Savos. “What do you think? Crystl has mastered all of the common fighting styles known by mortals.”
“Alright,” Savos nods hesitantly, “I’ll do what I can…”
“You called for us,” Lightzelle enters the G’s office together with Darkzelle.
“Yes, have a seat.” G then picks up a photo of a green-haired spatial being and hands it over to them. “Do you know who this woman is?”
“Ezra,” Darkzelle whispers.
“You can talk?” Lightzelle seems surprised to hear her speak for the first time.
“She can speak,” G seems also surprised. “I thought you never talk…”
“Who is Ezra?” Lightzelle asks Darkzelle, then he looks at G, “I also do not know who this Ezra is since I barely stay in our domain…”
“Ezra is previous strongest,” Darkzelle answers her question. “Ezra taught Darkzelle fight. Ezra taught Darkzelle speak. But, Ezra worse than Darkzelle…”
“What are her powers, Darkzelle?” G continues to gather information.
“Shadow, transparency, translucency, and opacity,” Darkzelle taps her temple as she tries to remember Ezra’s powers. “Ezra love guns…”
“That is quite the information,” G finishes his list. “I think that is all I need to gather.”
“Is there anything else?” Lightzelle stands up. “We’ll continue training…”
“There is one more, apparently,” G looks at Darkzelle. “I need to know how your match went against Afel, Darkzelle.”
“Afel strong, Darkzelle hurt, so Darkzelle torture Afel.” Darkzelle grins, “Darkzelle love seeing blood come out.”
“Okay,” G feels his stomach contents turning inside out, “you may go now…”
Lightzelle’s eyes widened while keeping a flat affect, “Let us go… Darkzelle…”
“You almost ended up losing because he played with your emotions,” G looks concerned at Bezal. “How do you feel now?”
“I’m not supposed to feel sympathy and guilt for the human vessel where I was incubated, but I felt them. I felt responsible for causing his insanity and his strangeness.”
“Sometimes, when emotions get to you, you lose track of who you are and your mission,” G stands up from his seat, “but those things can be used to empower yourself to be better. Whoever that vessel was, I hope he is doing well. You don’t have to worry, he might treat his past experiences as just bad memories. What is important is that what he right now and what you are right now is the most important thing for all of us and your followers. In the end, I guess you won against the Satan of my world.”
“Satan Lucifer is used by the mortals to indicate the king of hell. They don’t even know that his name is Meltan Luminoir.” Bezal stands up and heads to the door, “I’ll think about you said. May I go out and visit my vessel if ever he survived his ordeal?”
“Feel free to go,” G shows him his totem. “In case the Celestial and Chaos beings capture you, end your own life. You don’t have to fear death and oblivion.”
“That feels morbid of you to say,” Bezal smirks.
“It’s just my way of telling you to be careful and be stealthy.”
“Thank you, for keeping my followers safe,” Bezal closes the door and leaves.
“In the end, I forgot to ask him about the Chaos being Raijin…” G looks outside, “Gazbleir Celxion and Noiricca Grave are still taking their time. Have you finally recovered, Sade?”
Sade appears behind the curtain in one of his windows. “All patched up, Lord Xeel.”
“Tell me about the death match.”
“Bezal L Cero might not know it, but he is more human than a Chaos being.” Sade sits down on the couch while G continues to check the view outside from his window. “I simply put him in the shoes of his incubator… as ordered, Lord Xeel. He is torn apart and I took advantage of it, but seeing as he is the strongest Chaos being out there, he let loose and transformed into a demonic dragon… or draconic demon whichever is more appropriate.”
“You did not transform,” G glances at him. “You could’ve won…”
“It would give me a chance to make the match longer, but I will still lose… and so I accepted my fate. I’m impressed by your recruits, by the way.”
“Individually, yes they are impressive,” G closes the curtains, “but I need them to work as a team to cover each other’s weaknesses. Let us head out, I want to oversee their training…”
“Lt. Strika,” G approaches her. “How was your battle against… the Lunar Empress?”
“Lord Xeel,” she gives him a salute.
“At ease soldier,” G chuckles, “I can’t get used to being saluted at.”
“I was beaten fair and square,” she sighs. “She was the best wielder of swords and I was caught off guard in the end.”
“So your match was a plain sword fight, I presume?”
“Yes, Lord Xeel, it was.” She waves her hand at the Lunar Empress who is approaching them.”
G looks behind him and nods at Curii Lunatique, “You look refreshed rather than tired.”
“I was tired nonetheless,” Curii gives Lt. Strika a high-five. “She made me draw my Eternal blade indicating that I have acknowledged her prowess with the sword.”
“Well, I was already using my Eternal blade and she wasn’t but it already gave me a hard time,” Lt. Strika scratches her head. “That was a very long katana though…”
“So, G,” Curii equips her royal robes. “I guess it’s my time to leave. Your empire needs their empress back.”
“Well, it is an honor,” G lowers his head. “Good luck protecting Sleep Verse.”
“Your majesty,” Lt. Strika lowers her head as well as she fires up a gate out of the Timeless River, “I hope I could get another match next time.”
“I hope so too,” the queen bids her farewell as the portal closes.
“So, lieutenant, what do you think of her katana, the Golden Ruby?” G asks her while looking at Savos and Crystl training.
“It’s like seeing the sun inferior to the moon,” she imagines. “I feel inspired.”
“Very good. You’ve shown growth and I am proud of it,” G brushes her white hair. “Now, if you would excuse me, I would like to go and see those two over there.”
“Yes, Lord Xeel!”
In a Dimension within the Timeless River, Gazbleir Celxion Rare, has been very busy being trained by G’s mentor and daughter Orchid Wednesday Leya.
“So Gazbleir,” Orchid sits down in the middle of a round ring while waiting for him. “How many deaths so far?”
“572 deaths,” Gazbleir gets inside the ring. “Have I improved?”
“This is different from when I trained G when he was still human, however, I can rank you may be at Afel’s level already.” Orchid estimates, “You’ve improved a lot. I’m not gonna lie when I tell you that you are the weakest link among the rest of your teammates.”
“I knew it,” Gazbleir sighs. “I blame my creator, Lord Xpir.”
“Nah, blame the environment you were brought up in,” Orchid gives off her gentle smile similar to that of G’s. “But, this environment is a lot different, ain’t it? You’ll be forced to adapt and become stronger the more I kill you. It’s good that Father modified your totem… you are actually a human right now, didn’t you know?”
“How?” Gazbleir tries to feel it, “I sense nothing’s changed…”
“You didn’t actually change,” Orchid chuckles. “When you entrusted yourself to dad, he took your core and turned it into a totem. However, he must’ve felt your need to get more powerful and so he tweaked your totem into that of a human. Don’t worry, this totem only works here in the Timeless River.”
“What if I remain the weakest?” Gazbleir anxiously prepares for another round. “I might be a burden…”
“Aiming to be the strongest is weakness itself,” Orchid grins. “Sometimes you have to be weak in order to make you humble because when you are strong and proud, you are bound to fall down miserably. Are you ready? Just remember the extent of your skills. You don’t have to defeat to realize it though…”
“I’ll take in those words of wisdom from you, Ms. Orchid.” Gazbleir metamorphoses into his Quintessential form, a pitch-black being emanating ribbon-like dark energy. “I’ll do it…”
“You learn quick,” Crystl high-fives Savos. “Are you sure about your choice of fighting techniques?”
“Defensive fighting styles suit me most,” Savos drinks from a glass of water he created from nothing. “Defense is the best offense, as they say. Enough about me, what about you?”
“About what?”
“I heard from G that you were supposed to be the next king of Death verse, why did you leave?”
“The reason is that… I’m not interested in ruling over my people… and I really don’t want anyone to rule over me… even G actually. I don’t want to be bossed around. I just wanna be free and do whatever I can to make things right… for me.” Crystl sits down, “Besides, freedom is only a grasp away.”
“Three out of four threats left apparently, but I’m not so sure about it yet.” Savos sighs, “The Supreme Being of Death is sealed away. Which means, Supreme Beings of Creation, Destruction, and Life remain.”
“It’s awful to think that Creation, Destruction, Life, and Death team up against Reality, Fantasy, Time, and Space, ain’t it?” Crystl stretches out his arms, “Essence is on our side though, but I don’t know about Balance and Destiny… I hope they choose this side…”
“Balance and Destiny are also at war, apparently,” Savos sits down a few feet from Crystl. “Messing with the mortals’ destinies can cause a major imbalance in the multiverse. We won’t be expecting them to pop up anytime soon…”
“Hi,” G approaches them, seemingly with a plan in mind. “I was wondering if you two have a mock battle right now with me as the referee.”
Crystl looks at Savos, “I don’t mind, what about you?”
Savos ponders for a bit. “Alright, let’s see if my training pays off…”
“Fistfight, you say?” Crystl looks back at G.
“More like uh weaponless fight,” G grins. “You’ll be surprised to see how crafty Savos is in reality.”
“I’m not gonna use any tricks,” Savos stands up and distances himself from Crystl. “I’m not a devil for goodness’ sake.”
Crystl raises his fists as he prepares to attack, “I’m going to go offensive on you now Savos…”
“Alright, now that you have taken position,” G moves in between them, “let me make the rules. The first to get knocked out cold… loses, no time limit. FINAL ROUND… FIGHT!”
“Leg Movement 77: Zig-zag!” Crystl rushes towards Savos in a crisscross movement followed by a flurry of punches. “FistStyle 465: Gatling Gun!”
Savos raises his arms as he blocks and evades the flurry of punches thrown by Crystl. It is as if he can predict where the next punch will be thrown. However, Crystl’s punches are fast that even knowing where it would land is not enough to guarantee safety. Savos decides to back off while receiving, deflecting, and avoiding the tenacity of those fists.
Finding a bit of an opening, Savos quickly sends in his own punch. Unfortunately, Crystl manages to block it with his arms crossed. But, Savos’ punch was so strong that Crystl slides backwards. Savos assumes his defensive position once again as Crystl changes his own fighting stance.
“Impressive,” G claps his hands. “I wonder what your next move will be, Crystl…”
“Kuh,” Crystl opens his hands and instead of punching, he poses them as if they were claws. “Claw Style 129: Meat Cleaver…”
Savos gets alarmed. Thinking of a way to protect himself from getting slashed by Crystl’s claw-like hands, he changes into a grappling position in hopes to pin him to submission.
Crystl raises his heels from the ground, “Leg Movement 103: Cheetah!”
Crystl charges as fast as a cheetah could accelerate aiming straight ahead at Savos. Unfortunately, Savos has him all figured out! As soon as Crystl is mere feet away from him, he proceeds to kick him upfront. Knowing how fast Crystl, he is able to easily sidestep avoiding the kick. The kick is just a decoy…
Immediately planting his leg back to the ground, he uses it to maximize the power of his right fist to deliver a right hook at Crystl. Instinctively, Crystl moves left to avoid the punch with just a few inches missed from his head.
“That was close,” Savos assumes back to his defensive position. “I could’ve knocked you out there…”
“You’ve got a lot of openings, but once I close in… those openings disappear,” Crystl changes his chopping position. “Let’s pretend that my arms are blades now…”
“I think we should stop there today,” G curiously halts the match as he answers the phone call. “Hey, it’s the queen of Death verse…”
Crystl notices G’s expression changes from light to grim, “Is something wrong?”
“Something is definitely wrong,” G ends the call and looks at the two. “Assemble the others except for Noiricca, Bezal, and Gazbleir. It seems like we’ll visit your homeworld, Crystl.”
“Tell me what’s wrong, G!” Crystl demands an answer.
“Our main enemy, the Supreme Life Being, accompanied a ‘Death being’ claiming to be Voix’s firstborn and demands the throne from your majesty. If they won’t hand her the throne, she will send an army of souls which she could apparently control…”
“They’ve begun,” Savos heads off to warn the others.
“Who was she, G?”
“Tai Foun, Death goddess of souls…”
