The Transfer

Chapter 59 - After Party

Liam's POV ———

I watched Alison walk away. My eyes narrowed down on her swaying hips and how curvy her butt looked in the tight fitted dress she was wearing. Her long hair went down her back, neat and tidy. It looked so soft. I wanted to run my hands through her hair and hold her close.

My beast licked his lips as he thought about how our female had broken Anthony's hand and given him a blood nose. We both liked how quick she was to tell him no and get rid of him.

I couldn't stand Anthony. He'd had his eyes on my girl ever since she arrived in Takiani, according to Lila. I didn't like that at all. I couldn't stand the thought of another male thinking of her the same way I did. She was mine and that was all anyone had to know.

Alison disappeared from my sight and I smiled and looked back to my sister, Alison's cousins, Lauri and Alison's father. They were all looking at me already.

Did I do something?

"You're good for her. Your whole family is. She's changing so much,” Lauri said, a warm smile on her lips. She looked genuinely happy, and I noticed the glossiness in her eyes. Was she crying?

"I've never seen her so strong and... happy before. It looks good on her," Blake said with a small smile. I knew where Alison got her intimidating blue eyes from. Her father had the same ones, whereas all her brothers had caramel brown eyes. They must've inherited that from their mother. "Trust me, we've noticed the change. Compared to when she first arrived, she's so much better," Lila said, smiling at them. Everyone nodded in agreement and I looked around briefly for Leon, Lucas sand Cass.

Lucas was making his way in my direction and Leon and Cass were grabbing drinks from the table. "Come on, girl. We've got a party to get ready for too!" Monique said as she grabbed Lila's hand and tugged her away. I smiled and watched my little sister go. She was growing up so fast.

"Blake, this is Lucas. My younger brother," I introduced Lucas to Alison's father. Lucas smiled at him and shook his hand firmly.

"I guess you're like my step-dad now, huh?" Lucas said with a wide grin. He'd missed Dad so much since he died, and Ezra, as well as our uncles had been the only other father figures in both our lives. "I guess so, boy. Look forward to it," Blake replied with a smile. Lucas chuckled and pulled his hand away. I cleared my throat and Blake motioned for me to leave with his hand.

"Go get ready for that party. I'm sure Ali will be waiting for you," Blake told me. I nodded my head and turned. I nodded respectfully at Ezra and Jenny who stepped forwards and started a conversation with Blake.

"Henry was wrong in that meeting, Liam. You shouldn't have let him get away with that,” Lucas told me as we walked. I snapped my eyes to him. He head his eyes focused on where he was walking, but I could see his beast itching beneath the surface.

I knew Henry was wrong. He was strange, acting different. There was something off about him. Maybe he knew that Veronica and Anthony were both being a pain in the ass. Maybe he just didn't want to deal with it.

"I wasn't going to start a scene in the middle of a meeting, Lucas,” I told my brother truthfully. Lucas stopped and faced me. I stopped also and let him look at me.

Lucas was just as tall as me. Him and Leon were the same height, and they were both only a few inches shorter than me.

Lucas was barely serious, so when he was serious, everyone knew it was actually an important matter. He wasn't making a stupid joke or being an idiot for once.

"You don't know the half of how he treats her. You don't know how bad it upsets her either. You gotta pull your head out your ass and start protecting your mate, Liam," Lucas told me. I stared at him for a moment.

What was he talking about? I didn't know how Henry treated her? What else was going on behind my back? My chest rumbled at Lucas’ words.

"What's he doing that I don't know about, Lucas?" I asked him. Lucas shook his head at me.

"She knows that Henry hates her, Liam. She overheard him talking with someone in his office about how weak she was because she couldn't protect herself from being assaulted by Brennon," Lucas shrugged at me. I frowned at him and felt my beast claw at my mind.

He had never wanted to claw Henry's throat out more.

Why would Henry say that? Why would he make fun of Alison for that?

My beast wanted blood, and I pushed him back, an uncomfortably feeling in my chest because of it. "She's over it now. But you best be aware that he's not going to make things easy for her. Protect her or you'll lose her,” Lucas told me. We both continued walking and I suddenly didn't want to go to the party anymore.

The party was loud when we arrived. I leaned again the wall with my arms crossed as Lucas and Leon spoke with some of Alison's brothers and cousins. They all seemed really cool and I already felt the connection with them. My beast thought of them as family.

I sighed out and shook my head. I was bothered by what Lucas had told me. What was Henry's issue with Alison?

I felt Alison's presence in the room and I felt better immediately. All negative thoughts pushed their way to the back of my mind as Alison came into my sight. She bounded towards me and the others with a grin on her face.

I watched her intensely. She looked happy and content with herself which made my blood hot with desire. She wore a pair of tight blue jeans and a black shirt with a jacket over the top. She was simple but she somehow made it look so good.

How was this girl so perfect?

"I walked past Anthony on the way here. He looks twice as ugly as he did before I messed up his face,” Alison announced to everyone. She grinned happily as Samaya reached out and patted her on the back.

"I taught you well. Your temper definitely came from me," Samaya admitted smugly. Alison rolled her eyes and shook her head.

"Whatever you say," she chanted back to him as he slipped his arm around her shoulders. She looked at me and smiled her pearly white teeth.

I licked my lips. My beast was edging me to do things to her, but I knew it wasn't the time nor the place to do it. Plus, her house would be full of males in the night.

We'd be busted again. At least it wouldn't be buy Lucas. Although, I know her brothers would kill me if they caught me doing anything more than holding her hand.

Literally.

"Where are all your friends, loser?" Lucas poked at Alison's shoulder. She scoffed at him and motioned to the dance floor where the girls were all dancing loosely. They weren't very good

"I can't dance. And don't call me a loser, loser,” Alison bit back. Lucas rolled his eyes playfully at her and she nudged him with her elbow.

I was happy that Alison was so close with my brothers and sister. I wasn't sure what to do if she hadn't liked them or if they hadn't liked her.

"Come on, man. We're playing beer pong in the dining room."

I rolled over and felt for Alison. My hand only touched the sheets. I frowned and my ears shot up. Through the blurry daze, I could make out that Alison wasn't there.

Where was she?

I sat up in a hurry and looked around the room. She wasn't there either. I sucked in a deep breath when I saw her sock drawer pulled open. Had she already gone to spar with her brother?

I glanced at the alarm clock on her night stand and noticed it was eleven in the morning. She was long gone. Alison was an early bird by all means.

I smiled to myself and got up. I dressed in shorts and a plain shirt before I pulled on shoes and left the room. In the kitchen was a very grumpy looking Beckett.

"Why the long face? It's only eleven o'clock,” I asked him as I walked into the kitchen. There was a mug that had a sticky note on it. My name was written on the paper in Alison's neat handwriting. She'd already made me coffee.

Angel. An absolute angel.

I put the coffee into the microwave and warmed it up. I looked back to Beckett who still looked annoyed and pissed off. I frowned.

The energy in the air was negative.

"Something is off. You feel it, don't you?" Beckett stood up straight and looked at me. I nodded slowly and sniffed at the air again. It felt poisoned and gross.

"Yeah... maybe there's a storm coming,” I suggested, not know what else I could tell him. He nodded and shrugged at me as the microwave beeped and I took out my coffee mug.

"Drink up. Ali is sparring with Jax as we speak. Apparently she's laying a real good beating on his ass,” Beckett told me. My eyes widened as I tossed my coffee down the sink and Beckett smiled.

"I knew I liked you,” Beckett nodded as we left the house. I wasn't going to miss my female beating up her brother. I could only imagine how funny it would be to watch.

Beckett and I jogged fast through the trees. We found where the two were sparring and came up to the crowd. Almost everyone was around. My family and Alison's family were watching the fight. Other people had joined to watch too.

Jax was in the dirt. He had a bloody face and looked pissed. Alison, however, looked more than happy and had a huge grin on her face. She looked damn good.

My beast licked his lips at the image of our female; sweaty and panting. He was being dirty.

"If I'd known that you would be this much of a pushover, I wouldn't have even bothered,” Alison teased her brother. He growled at her and got up fast. She smirked as he ran at her.

He hit her hard in the kidney, and then tried to drag her down. But she twisted her body elegantly and they both landed on the ground, Alison pinning Jax down. A wide grin spread across her face and Jax couldn't help but smirk too. He tried to hide it but failed miserably.

Beckett laughed from next to me and shook his head. "Let's go Ali!"

Jax freed himself and punched Alison in the side. She flew to the side of him, landing almost at my feet. I smiled down at her as she pushed herself up and wiped away the dirt.

Her eyes flickered to me and I felt myself being pulled to her all over again. She was so entrancing, and I was pulled her her literally. Being apart from her drove me insane.

The bond was getting harder to fight. I didn't care. I was ready to make her mine, but she wasn't. I was going to wait, as much as I hated it. But I could tell how much she struggled at times.

She had to fight herself every time she was around me. She had to learn control and how to stop herself. She knew she wasn't ready and I knew she wasn't either. I had to wait a little longer.

They lunged at each other again. Alison punched Jax in the clavicle and he hit her back in the jaw. Their bodies both flew the side and they both stumbled. Alison was quicker to regain her balance than Jax was and she went straight for him.

She had always been quick. She was small, and she could easily dodge around her opponents who were almost always taller than her.

She hit him hard in the mouth and then again in the nose. They both went down, punching and kicking at each other. They were laughing, and so was everyone else. This fight was too funny to be serious.

"There's trouble back at base. Get here now!" Mason's voice shouted into my head. I shuddered at the sudden noise as Alison tensed and then pushed herself up. She must've heard it too.

"There's trouble back at base,” Alison said hurriedly. She turned on her heel and sprinted off towards the base. My eyes widened at the fact that she was in front of everyone and I ran to keep up with her. If there was trouble, there was no way she was going to be the first one to reach it. Not without me to make sure she was safe.

My heart raced as I ran. The negative energy got stronger and stronger in the air until it turned to rot.

It was a smell I knew too well.

Rogues.

I looked at Alison. She had smelt it too. Her hair was stood up on the back of her neck and she looked partly terrified. I didn't blame her.

As we came to the scene, I frowned when I saw the commotion in front of me. We weren't directly at the pack base. All the cabins were about a five minute walk away. We were outside Alison's house. My eyes widened dramatically as I leaped forward and grabbed Alison. We both skidded to a stop in the dirt as I pulled her to me, keeping her from getting any closer.

Her father was being held by rogues, claws pressed to his neck.

I held my breath as I tugged Alison back. I held her tightly. She pulled and pulled at me, already crying. The tears fell so fast, I had barely any idea what to do.

My heart was beating so hard and fast that I could feel it in my throat. I swallowed hard, my mind desperately searching for a solution.

Blake didn't look stressed. He looked content. He knew he was going to die. It was the only option. "Let me go!" Alison shouted at me. I refused to do so and held her back as Alison's brothers came up next to me.

"Don't," Beckett said to them as they went to push forwards. His voice was shaky and there were tears in his eyes.

No, no, no. I didn't want to do this again. I didn't want to see another family member die. I didn't want to see Alison hurt.

"Beckett—" Rae argued, pushing forwards. Beckett grabbed his arm and tugged him back. Samaya grabbed him to ensure that he didn't move forwards. I felt the heat and energy rolling off everyone who was surrounding the scene.

The Alpha of Terialta was about to die and no one could do anything about it.

The rogues were on a suicide mission. They knew they were going to die after they did what they were about to do. I hoped they died slowly and painfully.

Alison's brothers stopped moving and they hung their heads. Alison, however, wouldn't stop fighting me. She pulled and tugged hard, but I kept her in my arms as she cried.

"That's my Dad! Someone fucking do something!" She cried out through tears and sobs. My beast whined and growled for her. I felt her sadness and her distress. She was going to be a wreck. "Alison, please," I begged her as I gently pulled her back. She didn't listen to me. She squirmed even more and cried louder.

"Take care of my baby," Blake told me. I nodded my head at him as he shut his eyes.

"Do it already. Just kill me," Blake told the rogues as he put his head back slightly.

I clenched my jaw and watched the rogue tear out Blake Grey's throat.

"No!" Alison's screams echoed through the trees. The moment her father's body hit the ground, her brothers all tore forwards, shifting into their beasts.

Then, they tore the rogues apart.
