Chapter 37

Chapter 37 What the Hell Happened Last Night

Liam gently laid Gwyneth on the bed and switched on the bedside lamp with care. The effects of alcohol and the plush mattress caused Gwyneth to release a few restless murmurs. Her voice, to Liam, sounded like a kitten playfully scratching at his desires

While in the car, Liam had managed to keep his emotions in check. But now, they resurfaced even stronger than before. Leaning forward. he rested his hands on either side of Gwyneth’s head. However, as he observed her furrowed brows, a twinge of guilt washed over him. He chuckled selfdeprecatingly at the thoughts that crossed his mind. When did I start becoming someone I hardly recognized?”

After a brief hesitation, Liam decided to undo Gwyneth’s shirt and pants one by one. If a servant were to witness this scene, they would undoubtedly be shocked. Liam was known for his cleanliness, and yet he didn’t seem to mind Gwyneth’s soiled clothes, allowing her to lie on his bed. It was truly an unprecedented occurrence

As Gwyneth’s pants and shirt gradually slipped off, a faint chill enveloped her as her clothes vanished. Instinctively, she rolled over and cocooned herself in the blanket

Liam gazed at the sight of the vulnerable young woman, his expression involuntarily softening. However, he remained oblivious to the changes stirring within him

The master bedroom’s bed was large. But after a brief hesitation, Liam grabbed his fresh clothes and opted to sleep in the guest room instead. His first priority was ensuring Gwyneth had a restful night. Additionally, he feared losing control. Before departing, he leaned down and planted a gentle kiss on her forehead, then turned away and departed

The next morning. Gwyneth was roused by the sunlight streaming in through the window. Ugh, damn itShe struggled to roll over, and a sharp pain throbbed in her head. After a moment of recovery, she slowly opened her eyes, surveying the vaguely familiar ceiling and the room around her, and she was momentarily taken aback

Wait a minuteIsn’t this the Luther residence? Liam’s bedroom? What the hell happened last night? Her brows furrowed as she tried to piece together the events of the previous night. With a delayed realization, she hastily pulled the blanket and inspected her body

Gwyneth noticed that her clothes were nowhere to be found. However, she felt no unusual sensations in her body, which offered some relief. Still, the fact that she had no memory of what had transpired the night before puzzled her. How did I return and end up lying in

Liam’s bed?”

Gwyneth nervously bit her lip. Finding herself in such a drunken state was a rarity for her, and now she realized the importance of avoiding such situations altogether. Just as frustration welled up within her, she caught the sound of the bedroom door opening

Liam entered the room, his steps deliberate, carrying a tray adorned with a dainty soup bowl. You’re awake,he remarked

Gwyneth’s heart skipped a beat the moment Liam’s voice reached her ears, solidifying her conviction that she wasn’t trapped in a dream.Hold on a second, wasn’t I completely wasted last night?she exclaimed inwardly. What on earth happened? Did a meteor strike

Liam continued, I had the servant prepare hangover soup. The temperature is just right now. Drink it, or you might regret it later. As he spoke, he extended the bowl directly to her

Gwyneth slowly raised herself into a seated position, clutching the blanket lightly up to her neck, a desperate wish to shield her entire face. She stole a fleeting glance at Liam before quickly averting her eyes. Um, thank you,she murmured, accepting the soup bowl from his outstretched hand. The moment her fingertips brushed against Liam’s skin, her heart leaped within her chest. Head bowed, she forgot to retrieve the spoon and instead clutched the bowl, sipping from it directly

From Liam’s perspective, he could see Gwyneth’s slightly flushed ears. A warm feeling stirred in his heart. He had never cared for someone in this manner before, nor did he possess any expertise in doing so. But if the circumstances demanded it, he was willing to give it a try. There was, however, one significant prerequisite: it had to be this woman

As Gwyneth finished the warm bowl of soup, she felt as if she had been revived

A comforting warmth spread through Gwyneth’s stomach, and even her headache began to relent. As she handed the bowl back to Liam, she took the opportunity to ask, her tone filled with curiosity and a hint of uncertainty. Could you please tell me what happened last night? *Her voice carried a soft whisper, tinged with a touch of coquetry

Do you remember anything at all?Liam spoke softly, his eyes glimmering with a hint of cunning

I only recall being at the bar and thennothing.Gwyneth replied with frustration, her voice carrying a tinge of exasperation. If she could. she would have lamented, My reputation is in shambles. However, in her vexation, she failed to notice the slightly peculiar expression on

Liam’s face

Liam continued, Last night, I tried to reach you, but your phone suddenly disconnected.”

Upon hearing his account, Gwyneth had some vague recollection

Worried that something might have happened, I immediately asked Henry to help me to locate you. Thankfully, you’re safe,Liam added. As he spoke, he couldn’t help but recall the emotions he had experienced the previous night, his brows knitting together slightly. He had no desire to relive that same sense of worry and fear
