Chapter 122
Chapter 122 Don’t Underestimate Your Enemy
After Gwyneth went back to her office, Wanda talked with her about some work–related issues.
Gwyneth did not discuss her position or relationship with Hayden clearly, and Wanda did not pry further. Perhaps it was a tacit understanding between adults.
They had some shared understandings, but if they discussed them, things would be different. Wanda had risked her life to save Gwyneth when they were being kidnapped, that alone was more than enough.
Gwyneth gently patted Wanda’s shoulder, and her eyes were clouded with worry. She urged. “The project hasn’t started yet. You can take a few more days off if you’re not feeling well.”
Wanda shook her head and placed last week’s report on the desk. She stated, “Ms. Glen, I’ll get back to my work right away.”
Gwyneth skimmed the report. It was visually pleasing and well organized. She cast an appreciative glance at Wanda before allowing her to
leave.
Wanda quickly pulled out her phone and messaged Hayden after leaving the office. She wrote. “Mr. Hut, I just saw Mr. Luther when I went into Ms. Glen’s office. You need to be wary of your love rival.”
Wanda felt guilty when she sent out the message. Despite her belief that she should not meddle in Gwyneth’s private matters, she secretly wished for her happiness.
Hayden had told her a few things about Liam and Gwyneth. If the two had feelings for each other, how could nothing have happened after three years of being together? How much more time would it take? Another three years or more?
Wanda bit her lower lip and held onto her phone firmly. She received a message from Hayden a split second later, saying, “Leave it to me.”
Hayden was very confident. Liam, in his opinion, was no match for him. His confidence was likely a result of his superior qualities or his
long–term professional successes.
He was sitting on the villa’s couch and fiddled with his phone. He sneered coldly when he recalled the last time he saw Liam at the fishing
port. Since that was the case, he could not sit back and watch passively.
The look in his eyes gradually grew colder while he was contemplating something. Then, suddenly, he sprung from the couch.
A servant promptly handed him his coat, and he quickly left the mansion.
Two hours later, Hayden pulled up in front of Glen Corporation’s entrance. He exited the vehicle with a large bouquet of colorful flowers.
“Sir, how may I assist you?” The receptionist in Glen Corporation’s lobby asked him politely as she stopped him from entering the building.
Hayden was a singer. When he went outside, he frequently wore a mask and a hat. Today was no exception. He wasted no time in trying to persuade the receptionist when he heard the question. He hesitated for a while before removing his hat and mask.
Hayden responded, “Miss, I’m looking for your president, Ms. Glen.”
Hayden stood upright. He rarely relied on his good looks, but when he did, it worked wonders. Not just because he was attractive, but because he had a unique charm that he had cultivated over the years as he performed on stage.
When she saw him, the young woman was unsure of how to react. She stammered, “You, you are. Do you have an appointment with Ms. Glen or…”
Evidently, the receptionist knew who Hayden was, but she made an effort to remain professional.
Hayden drew closer to the receptionist and narrowed the distance between them. He curved his eyes slightly and spoke in a low voice,” I’m an old friend of hers, and we need to talk about some things. Can you make an exception?”
Few people were able to resist his charm. Obviously, the receptionist was not one of them.
“Ms. Glen should be in her office. You can take the elevator all the way to the top floor.”
The receptionist was on the verge of fainting. She swallowed and gave Hayden a series of directions, stopping short of leading the way herself.
Hayden smirked and nodded at the receptionist before he went upstairs with the flowers. He did not have a specific reason for seeing Gwyneth, but he had a good one after giving up the Glacier Lake project.
Consequently, Hayden started dropping by Glen Corporation more frequently. He frequently paid Gwyneth a visit, and each time he would give her a bouquet of flowers. Although Gwyneth found this annoying, she lacked a good reason to turn him down.
