Chapter 101 I Can Explain 

Her instincts told her that this was not the response she was hoping to hear. Gwyneth said with her arms crossed, “Wanda, don’t beat 

around the bush.” 

Wanda spoke softly while lowering her head. Everyone could see how upsel and uncomfortable she was. She admitted, “Mr. Hut hired me to get close to you when I joined Hut Corporation.” 

Not earth–shattering, but still a surprising discovery. Gwyneth was a little stunned because, given the circumstances, she had not anticipated Wanda admitting it. 

Her gaze fell on Wanda’s swollen wrist. She pursed her lips, recalling how Wanda had screamed at the top of her lungs and fought 

ferociously for her sake. Gwyneth instructed, “You should get some rest.” 

Wanda’s head suddenly rose in response to Gwyneth’s command. She was visibly upset. She had the impression that Gwyneth had 

abruptly let go of her hand and abandoned her. The tears she had been holding back when she faced the kidnappers finally started to 

show themselves. 

Although she technically worked for Hayden, Wanda had been attracted to Gwyneth ever since she started working for Glen Corporation. It was an indescribable feeling akin to dependence and admiration. 

Just a few minutes ago, Gwyneth had saved her life. She had never encountered anyone like her. How could she accept Gwyneth who was 

about to abandon her? 

Wanda pleaded, “Ms. Glen, II’m begging you. Can you let me stay by your side? I really want to work with you.” 

Her sobs choked her. Wanda’s already–unkempt and upset appearance looked even more pitiful at this point. 

Liam stood aside and silently examined Gwyneth. He could not help but think back to the message concerning revenge and repayment. 

What would his wife do at this time? 

Suddenly, the room went silent. 

And in the next instant, Hayden spoke up out of nowhere. His voice sounded devoid of warmth. However, Liam noticed the strong feelings 

in Hayden’s eyes when he looked at Gwyneth. 

‘Gwyneth, don’t blame Wanda for this. I can explain.” Hayden stated. 

Gwyneth looked at Hayden when she heard this. She arched her eyebrows just a little, wanting him to continue. 

Hayden continued, “Gwyneth, you know me. I won’t do anything to hurt you.” 

Liam tilted his head to one side, and Hayden’s words sounded harsh to his ears. 

Hayden explained, “I stumbled across Wanda and discovered her capacity for work. I think she can help you.” 

A chill ran down Gwyneth’s body as she heard this. 

‘Hayden admitted that he has looked into me. This man is aware that I’ll take over as Glen Corporation’s president. This man has kept an eye on all of my movements and is well aware of them given the events that occurred at the auction. 

‘Wanda also mentioned a mysterious bidder in the auction parking lot. She had been looking at her phone constantly throughout the 

auction, and it was now obvious that she had been messaging Hayden.‘ 

Gwyneth felt uneasy as soon as she made the connection. 

Why has the situation gotten so complicated?‘ 

Hayden read Gwyneth’s expression. He remained silent, hesitated, and felt a little uneasy. He feared that Gwyneth might misunderstand the situation or misinterpret his motives. Hayden swallowed before speaking again. “Fine, I admit that I was the one who bought Glacier Lake. Do you want to return the favor?” 

Gwyneth thought to herself, ‘Hayden looks as charming as ever, so why do I feel that the man in front of me was different?” 

Hayden demanded, “Keep Wanda if you want to return the favor.” 

‘Gosh! He finally makes his intentions known.‘ 

Gwyneth was amused by Hayden at this point. Frankly speaking, she had no intention of getting rid of Wanda. 

Wanda’s willingness to put her life in danger to save her was the reason she would keep her. She just wanted Wanda to go home early and to have a serious conversation. Somehow, things had turned out this way. If she did not make the most out of the situation, it would appear strange. 

Gwyneth’s gaze shifted from Hayden to Wanda. She noticed that Wanda was tearful and hoping for an answer. 

Gwyneth’s heart began to soften, and she eventually nodded despite acting solemn and angry. 

Wanda was about to cover her mouth and start crying when Gwyneth pointed a finger and glared at her. Clearly, she forbade Wanda from crying. 

Wanda shuddered. She quickly covered her mouth in an attempt to contain her crying, which led to a coughing fit.
