The Sovereign Heir (Book 1)

Chapter 19 Being Nosey

My meeting was starting sooner as requested. I orb to the study and started my zoom. Designs were finalized and a few contracts redrafted by the end of it all. I cross my arms with my finger on my chin, so what to do now, that’s it, let me be a snoop and ear hustle exploring the place. I found my way to the west corridor, finding a full-sized gym tucked away, swimming pool, basketball court and a sauna.

Another door next to the gym lead to a small partially enclosed infinity saltwater pool. The east wing had more period pieces. Exploring everything that there was to see I travel back to the foyer. The doorbell rings and the butler came from out of thin air to answer it. I believe his name is Charles, I’ll definitely ask to confirm.

“ Bryant!” I went straight in air hugging him as he caught me in his arms.

“You’re clearly glad to see me. I got everything you asked for and took the liberty to add a few things you didn’t request. The roadster is fully charged. I brought a few of our people to help set up. Where is everything going?”

“You’re the best brother ever! On the third floor in the main bedroom. There is an elevator since you will be making at least three trips to unload.” Everyone starts filing in with boxes and bags stacked in the foyer. The most important thing to set up was the computer equipment, my new desk and my encrypted external drives.

We remove the second love seat out of the front sitting room, putting it in the bedroom next door. Kicking off my heels I set up my new table as they got my devices together. Going into the bedroom I set up my clothes, shoes and accessories. Finding my favorite pair of dark blue ripped jeans for this evening, matching it with my off the shoulder tan asymmetrical top. I mind link Bryant the entire time. Once I finish up unpacking, I decide to put on my yoga shorts, sports bra and midriff hoodie.

“Why’d you change, Laina? That dress looks really good on you.”

“Too good in my opinion, not trying to give him anymore ideas than he already has.”

“It’s like that already? It’s only been less than fifteen hours.”

“This is the last thing to set up, Princess Elaina, where would you like your yoga trapeze to go?” Spencer was one of our most efficient techs and a jack of all trades. I point to one particular spot on the ceiling.

“So, besides trying to pop your cherry, did anything else happen?”

“Nope not yet and as you know I’ll keep you posted.”

Bryant hands me my spare tesla keycard, the keys to the Tahoe and my bike before departing. He gave me another hug, ”Love you, big sis.” I held him like a lifeline “Love you more, little brother. I’m sure Nolan’s spies are reporting on my home interior updates to him before he arrives home.” Bryant smirks, “He must really want this to work out.”

I walk him out, waving goodbye. Hopping in my tesla, I found an empty spot to use in the garage. I head through the garage door, navigating to the gym and start with some light weightlifting. 300 lb. squat presses will do the trick and some arm curls. After one hundred reps of each I was done, I might do some yoga tomorrow. I work out my core, legs, and then my back.

Lastly, I decide to do a light jog on the treadmill and set the controls to 25mph.

I am on my last ten minutes when a memory of a vision came to me. Bright ocean blue eyes piercing through me, a hand on my throat in an unthreatening way. “Tell me you want me; show me you want me.” My upper body arched, and mouth let out a moan. I was totally enveloped at this point; before I could stop it I was running past the capacity of the treadmill. It starts smoking and I snatch the emergency stop.

Oh shit, I think I killed the motor! Quickly grabbing my phone I scroll through amazon to find the exact same one I just destroyed. It should be here in two days. That is going to be really hard to explain. That was enough working out for today. I walk into the kitchen to get a bottle of water, there is a note stuck to the refrigerator door from Ms. Brown, ”Dear princess, everything you requested is here. The items for tonight are in the bottom drawer on the left. I took the liberty of placing a sweet red wine in there as well. If you need anything press the intercom button number one and I’ll be here immediately.”

She was so sweet, I really like her. After drinking about a liter of water. I wash my hands and pre-prep the food for tonight. Instead of the elevator I took the stairs to the third floor, stripping down and get in the shower giving my hair a good wash to get all the gel out from last night.

After I am out, I apply coconut oil throughout my tresses of curls, putting them in a high sloppy ponytail. My curls fell at random around my face. I put on my jeans and top with my open toe booties. Looking at my watch, it was about three; meaning he would be here soon.

I went back down the back stairs to get to work in the kitchen.

Cutting up some star fruit, mangos, quince, black apples and pineapple for a fruit salad. Setting the pan on the stove to come to my desired temperature, adding butter and fresh rosemary. I pan sear the fillet mignon, setting it to the side. Lobster tails cut at an angle were placed in freshly melted butter with shallots.

I then add a second pan to melt provolone and parmesan cheese, adding Italian loaf bread slices, flipping them until saturated and crispy brown. I pile on arugula, sliced fillet mignon and lobster tail slices. Setting up everything on the tray after my speedy clean up, I put my intentions into the food just as Aunt Brie taught me.

“Cher, if you are any good of a witch, you don’t need a spell or incantation to get the job done. Your intentions are all you need and some tasty food. Your magic will flow right through your hands and into every morsel, no? But be careful to not let your subconscious control your narrative.”

At that moment in time, I realized what she had done while kneading the dough for beignets. I really admire that woman just like my mother. I miss NOLA, wish I could be there for Halloween like I planned. Unfortunately, I have a mate to get rid of.

It was forty-five minutes until Nolan’s eta. Once upstairs I set the tray down on top of the coffee table and have my fill of my own meal. Just as I was going over the breach logs Bryant sent over, I was facetimed by Nicole.
