Chapter 21
Anja and Braiba quietly roamed through the streets of the kingdom not wanting to get the attention of any of the wild monsters that were too busy attacking the people of Buganbal to notice them.
As they made their way deeper in to the kingdom Anja began to wonder and fear that his parents truly were in Buganbal, he didn’t believe it completely though but still feared about the possibility about them being there with the current state the kingdom was now in his mind.
Braiba noticed the worried look on her brother’s face.
“Are you okay Anja?” asked Braiba.
“I’m fine, let’s just get out of here before one of these monsters see us” said Anja.
They then continued to wonder deep in to the kingdom and carefully avoided the many monsters that roamed around.
They then heard the screams of a child being attacked by one of the beasts.
Anja upon seeing how scared and defenseless the she was couldn’t stop himself from charging and strike the beast down with a lightning bolt.
The child then rushed to Anja and hugged him.
“Thank you” said the child softly with small tears falling down from his eyes.
Anja then looked at the child.
He was a young boy who looked like he was about five to six years old; he looked so innocent, helpless and afraid.
Anja knew he was a Buganbalian but yet he could bring himself to hate him, he was only a child and Anja, no matter how bitter or hateful his heart was to the Buganbalians he couldn’t bring himself to hate that child.
“Dubran” screamed the voice of a woman.
Anja and the boy then turned around and saw a woman looking around, almost as though she was searching for someone.
The boy then let go of Anja and rushed to the woman screaming, “Mother, mother, mother” with tears flowing down from his eyes.
The boy reached the woman and hugged him tightly.
Anja couldn’t help but smile knowing the woman was probably the boy’s mother.
“I thought I lost you Dubran” said the boy’s mother.
“I was almost eaten by a monster but he saved me” said the boy pointing at Anja.
The boy’s mother then went to Anja and said, “thank you, whoever you are for save my son’s life”.
Anja just nodded his head unsure of what to say as the fact just thanked him greatly shocked and surprised him.
They then heard the roars of the other beast that roamed around in the kingdom.
“Leave now before the monster come for you” said Anja.
The woman did not think twice before she grabbed and ran away as fast as she could.
As they ran the boy turned back and looked at Anja which made Anja smile a little.
Braiba who watched what Anja did from a distant went to her brother and smiled at him.
“What?” said Anja noticing the way Braiba was smiling at him?
“You do realize you just save a Buganbalian right” said Braiba.
“So, he was a child. I couldn’t just stand back and let that monster eat him” said Anja.
Braiba then smiled at her brother once again, happy to know that his heart was not so cold and bitter with anger towards the Buganbalians that he would let them die under the hands of a beast.
Anja then sensed something strange in the wind as it blew past him.
It felt familiar but something seemed wrong, it felt corrupted by something dark and twisted.
Braiba could also sense something similar, it was magic and like what Anja felt it felt familiar but she could also sense that it was dark and corrupted.
What they sense was too strong for Braiba and Anja to ignore so they decided followed it, letting it lead to the source of this corrupt, dark but yet familiar thing they sensed.
Their senses took them to the source and once there they both gasped in shock and disbelieve.
They saw before them, Amasu, Delamu and king Atoni, who were surrounded by none other than their parents, Afini and Alaelra.
