The Sorcerer and Storm Maker

Chapter 11

The battle waged on between the beast of the realm eternal night and the Buganbalian royal guards along with Afini and Alaelra.

The Dark Sorcerer, sitting on the back of the Black Death Beast with a smile on his face while watching his army of monsters kill guards that were trying to protect the Buganbal.

The battle was indeed one sided as the beast devoured guards as they fought against them.

Afini and Alaelra did not use their powers, as did not want to expose themselves yet as The Storm Maker and Sorceress but even without their powers they could still hold their own on the battle field.

Delamu had no problem slaying most the beast as that made their way to him.

He had skill and experience as a former adventure that had come face to face with some of the deadliest beasts in lands.

But the other fell to the beast, one by one until they were only a hand full of guards left.

Alaelra, seeing how one sided the battle was going was, understood that the only way for them to win this battle was for her and Afini to use their powers.

Alaelra then went to Afini and said, “We can’t continue like this Afini”.

Afini then looked around, seeing what Alaelra was trying to say.

They were losing; the beasts were too strong of the guards to face.

Afini then took a deep breath and turned to Alaelra nodding his.

Alaelra understood what he meant when he nodded his and knew exactly which action to take.

Afini then went to Delamu.

“Delamu, order all the guards to retreat” said Afini.

“What are you planning on doing” asked Delamu.

“Just do what I said” said Afini.

Delamu saw the serious look on Afini’s face and understood that it would be better he listened and obeyed his friend.

“RETREAT!!!” screamed Delamu, ordering the guards to retreat back the safety of Buganbal.

All the guards then left.

“Good luck old friend” said Delamu as he hugged Afini.

Delamu then left the battlefield along with what remained of his men, leaving Afini and Alaelra alone to continue the fight.

Alaelra and Afini were now the only two left to protect Buganbal.

The Dark Sorcerer smiled when he saw that they were the only two left.

Afini then turned to Alaelra and ask, “Are ready”.

Alaelra then nodded her head.

Alaelra then removed the spell she put on herself and Afini that changed their appearance, revealing their true forms as the Sorceress and Storm Maker.

The guards looked at them from afar, shock and unable to believe they were indeed the same Storm Maker and Sorceress that supposedly killed the former king all those years ago.

The Dark Sorcerer just smiled at them before say, “I was wondering how long it would take for you to finally reveal yourselves Storm Maker and Sorceress”.

“Why are you doing this Sorcerer, what wrong have the people of Buganbal done to you that you would wish to slay them all with monsters for the realm of eternal night” said Afini.

The Dark Sorcerer just smiled before saying, “alright then since you wish to know I’ll tell you, a long time I ago when I still young I lost everything and was denied my birth right. I simply want to reclaim what I was denied”.

The Dark Sorcerer then closed his eyes, remembering his painful past as a small tears fell down from eye.

The Dark Sorcerer then wiped away the tear away and sighed deeply.

“My fight is not with you or even the people of Buganbal, it’s with the ones that took everything away from me” said the Dark Sorcerer.

“And who might they be” asked Alaelra.

“The royalfamily” said the Dark Sorcerer.

Afini and Alaelra then looked each other as they wondered what the royal family might have done for the Dark Sorcerer to harbor so much hatred for them all.

“I will give you two a chance, leave this place and return back to your home. Let me have my revenge on the royal family and I will spare the both of you from my wrath” said the Dark Sorcerer.

Afini and Alaelra then looked at each once again, thinking about the Sorcerer’s offer.

If they took it, they would be spared and would be able to return home to their children but if they didn’t they risked stay losing their lives in the fight against the Dark Sorcerer and his army of monsters.

The guards looked at Afini and Alaelra worried and scared that they might choose to leave and allow the Dark Sorcerer attack Buganbal with his monsters without trying to stop him after all they had not reason what so ever to be loyal to Buganbal especially after that law passed down by the king.

Delamu had no need to worry as he had faith in his friends and knew they would make the right choice.

Alaelra looked at her husband seeing that he was in an internal conflict within as he struggled to make the decision to stay or to leave, he didn’t want to risk his and Alaelra’s life after all they had a home and a family to return to but at the same time he still saw Buganbal as his first true home, where he was born and raised and even though the king had forced him out of it he would hate to see it burn in the wicked hands of the Dark Sorcerer.

Alaelra then held his hand.

“Whatever you choose Afini, I will be right by your side” said Alaelra.

Afini then smiled at his wife, glad to know that she would always be there to support him, that simple fact alone was enough for him to finally make a decision.

“We are not going anywhere” said Afini pointing his axe to Dark Sorcerer and his monster army.

The Dark Sorcerer just sighed in disappointment upon hearing he heard what Afini said.

“You disappoint me Storm Maker” said the Dark Sorceress before he commanded his monster army to attack.

Afini readied his axe for battle with lightning beginning to flow out of it.

Alaelra threw away the sword she held, to free her hands and enable her magic to flow out freely.

Afini and Alaelra looked at each other one last before charging towards the army of monsters.

Afini then fired powerful bolts of lightning out of his axe, striking down the monsters as they approached the both of them.

Alaelra then fired blast after blast of magic at the monster, blasting away before they could attack them.

The guards watched as the battle waged on, it was truly a sight to behold as Afini and Alaelra fought hard with everything they had to protect the kingdom from the Dark Sorcerer.

Afini and Alaelra fought as hard as they could but the battle was getting too intense for them continue.

If they took one of monsters down ten bigger and stronger monsters would come to take its place.

Alaelra and Afini knew that if the battle continued like this they would not last long.

Afini, in a desperate bid to end the battle took to the sky, flying high up and reaching the clouds above.

He then raised his axe above his head before summoning powerful cold winds along with ice and snow.

Afini had summoned a great snow storm and as the icy winds continued to blow around the army of monsters, they began to slowly freeze until theirentire bodies were frozen solid in cased ice and snow.

Afini eyes then began glow like lightning before the clouds above the sky became darker with flashes of lightning and roars thunder escaping from within them.

Afini then screamed high to clouds as they echoed ferociously with thunder and lightning.

Then all the lightning flowed out from the clouds into Afini’s axe.

Afini then used the lightning in his axe to strike the frozen monster down below.

Afini, after striking came down all the monster with lightning clouds above him, flew down to the ground and landed next to Alaelra.

The Dark Sorcerer then began to clap slowly with sinister smile on his.

“Well done Storm Maker Sorceress, you’ve managed to defeat every single one of my monsters” said the Dark Sorcerer.

“We’ve won this battle sorcerer now leave this place before we end you once and for all” said Afini.

The Dark Sorcerer then busted into laughter upon hearing what Afini said.

“You actually think you’vewon” said the Dark Sorcerer.

“Look around you Sorcerer, your army of monsters are defeated, struck down by my lightning” said Afini pointing at the monsters that lied on the ground, beaten and defeated.

The Dark Sorcerer then smiled before saying, “the illusion of victory is what blinds many warriors and makes them believe the battle is over and they’ve won when its only just began”.

The Dark Sorcerer then snapped his finger, and then the ground began to shake and rumble.

“What’s happening” asked Afini.

“It’s the sorcerer, he is using his dark magic” said Alaelra, sensing the dark magic from the Dark Sorcerer surround them.

The Dark Sorcerer just smiled as his eyes began to glow red and then slowly the monsters, who lay down on the ground rose up with the inflicted upon them by Alaelra and Afini completely healed.

“Do you understand now Storm Maker, your victory was just an illusion, you can’t win this battle” said the Dark Sorcerer as he straight out his to Afini and Alaelra.

“It’s time you two understood what true pain feels like” said the Dark Sorcerer before a wave of dark magic followed out of his hand straight for Afini and Alaelra.

Afini, wanting to protect Alaelra at all costs, pushed her out of the wave and allowed the wave to hit him.

“AFINI!!!!!!!” screamed Alaelra as she watched the wave hit him.

Afini screamed in tremendous pain as the dark magic hit him.

He then fell down to the ground feeling nothing but pain flow through his entire body.

Alaelra then rushed to him.

“Oh Afini” said Alaelra with tears falling down from her eyes.

She held tightly, not wanting to let go him.

“A-Alaelra” said Afini weakly.

“I love…” Afini could not even complete his sentence before he closed his.

“Afini, wake up, please, wake up” said Alaelra trying to wake him up with tears falling down from her eyes.

“Love, what a silly emotion” said the Dark Sorcerer.

Alaelra then kept quite upon hearing what the Sorcerer had said.

“Silence, have you stopped mourning your beloved so soon. What wrong, don’t you love him anymore” said the Dark Sorcerer mocking Alaelra with as wicked smile.

“How dare you” Alaelra said softly with tears still sipping out of her eyes.

“What did say, I sorry I didn’t hear that” said the Dark Sorcerer, continuing to mock her just to rub salt on her freshly opened wound.

“HOW DARE YOU!!!!!!!!” said Alaelra as her power began to rise up, driven by her rage for the Dark Sorcerer and what he did to Afini.

The ground around her began to shake and crack with pieces of rock and stone floating around her.

The Dark Sorcerer then smile upon seeing that Alaelra’s power had began to grow.

The Dark Sorcerer then came down from the beast he rode upon.

He then ordered the monsters to clear away, wanting to face Alaelra alone.

Alaelra then stretched out hand towards the Dark Sorcerer.

A tear then fell down from her eyes before whispering softly “E chi”.

Then powerful wave of raw destructive magic flowed out of her hand hit the Dark Sorcerer.

The power from the wave was so raw and intense that it shook and broke the ground around them apart, forming a massive crater and completely engulfed the Dark Sorcerer as it hit him.

It seemed like Alaelra’s attack was enough to put the Dark Sorcerer down, destroying him completely without leaving single trace of him behind as he was no were to found with the light, dust and smoke produced by her attack clear away.

Alaelra then fell down to the ground on her knees, immensely drained and weakened.

“A-Alaelra” said Afini weakly as he was still unconscious, lying down on the ground.

Alaelra upon hearing his voice rushed to him with tears of joy falling down from her eyes, happy that he was alive.

She hugged him tightly and kissed him passionately.

“It’s going to be alright my love” said Alaelra as she began to use her magic to heal Afini.

Afini then regained his consciousness for moment, opening his eyes and gave a warm smiled to her before losing consciousness once again as he tremendously drained and weak.

Alaelra then kissed him lightly, with small droplet of tears falling down from her eyes.

Then a strange wind began to blow around her and as the wind blew she sensed the presence of the Dark Sorcerer.

Then laughter began echo through the wind.

“Did you think it would that easy to defeat me” said the voice of the Dark Sorcerer echoing through the wind.

“It can’t be” said Alaelra, shocked and horrified as she wondered how the Dark Sorcerer could still be alive.

The Dark Sorcerer then appeared before her and then grabbed her by her neck and lifted off the ground.

“Why do you waste all this power protecting the one that rejected you, your husband and all mystical creatures all those years ago” said the Dark Sorcerer as he used his dark magic to inflict Alaelra with tremendous pain.

Alaelra then began to scream and shout from the inflicted upon her by the Dark Sorcerer’s dark magic.

“Even though I was trapped in realm of eternal night I still kept an eye on this place. I’ve seen everything that happened to you, your husband and all those poor mystical creatures that once lived in Buganbal. I know how the foolish prince became king, I know that he blamed you and your husband for the death of the former, he also forced the other mystical creatures to leave and still you continue to fight to protect him” said the Dark Sorcerer as he looked at Alaelra who was still screaming from the pain, wondering why she and Afini still choose to fight to protect Buganbal after what the king had done to them and the rest of the mystic creatures.

“You’re pathetic” said the Dark Sorcerer as he threw Alaelra away, sending her down to ground next to Afini.

“If you two are willing to die for that coward wearing a crown that doesn’t even belong to him then so be it” said the Dark Sorcerer as stretched his hand towards then to deliver the final life ending blow.

“Goodbye Sorceress and Storm Maker, may your souls never find peace because you two don’t deserve peace of any kind after fighting to protect that sorry excuse for a king” said the Dark Sorcerer as he a massive wave of dark magic flowed out of his hands straight for them.

Before the wave could hit them Alaelra used her to take both her and Afini away to the safety of Buganbal.

Once there Alaelra using whatever little magic she had left she used her magic to create a protective dome around the kingdom to keep the Dark Sorcerer and his army of monsters away.

“This is delaying the inevitable. This barrier will fall and when it does I will have my revenge” said Dark Sorcerer.
