Chapter I belong to her
There comes a moment in one’s life when its good against the bad, insecurities against the strength and doubts against the faith. Some come out on the other side, taking a re-birth while others give in to their demons. Their is no judgemental theory involved, its just a factual phase that everyone goes through.
It came in my life too, quite literally for that matter.
While I stood, this close to the evil side of the nature, growing weaker in its clutches, its pure form, the good side became even more hard to believe into. I was not sure about her presence. How could I be? When until few minutes ago, all of this was supposed to be over with us ending up into our graves, with no funerals served. My hope was beyond broken to believe that Creador or Celene, she came, and all it took was a message from her mate himself.
She looked absolutely majestic, standing tall in all her glory. She was wearing a velvet gown flowing down her body like a waterfall, while her hair were tied in a hairdo. She looked so delicate, her skin beyond flawless and paper thin yet there was a strong sense of an eternal young age which was reflecting in her unearthly features. Sharp jawline and high cheek bones, she looked cruelly beautiful. What stood out the most were her eyes. There was an intimidating glam in them, almost as transparent as snowflakes. They showed just how pure she was, how innocently divine she was to all of us, especially to her mate. Nothing compared to her presence. One can almost feel the shift in the nature, which was bowing down calmly at her feet as well.
It was insane, how heavenly she looked standing under the moonlight which all of a sudden was shining down on her, lightening up her stature.
I could now understand why Lucien acted the way he did. They both were quiet, I guess realising the presence of their souls’ mate was finally settling in the environment, in them.
None of us mattered as the two godly figures stood confronting each other and none of us dared to interrupt either.
“Its been ages...”
I was not sure to be in awe of the effect that Celene had on Lucien or laugh at how speechless he was at seeing her. After all its been ages since he last saw her.
“Indeed.” Her voice was a raw melody, finest even at the rough ends as she spoke minimal but nothing less than pure enchantments.
“Tell her Shye, tell her what I told you.” I frowned in confusion but then his message which he had told me to give Celene, came into my remembrance. I noticed how his voice was now almost a whisper of urgent request as he asked me to tell Celene.
“He still of-offers you his prayers everyday and means th-them.” I said fumbling, trying to keep up with the little consciousness I was left with.
“I am very well aware of them, Lucien.” She said.
“Then why did you not answer them?” His voice sounded lost, like he was left in the middle of nowhere and nobody could help him out.
“Answer to whom? My mate? Or you? Who has an innocent girl overwhelmed with the poison in your clutches, fighting for her sisters as she kept up with the balance which you almost ruined?” She questioned calmly. “Put an end to it.”
“Certainly.” Lucien said gaining back his composure. “If you must give me your word, that you will accompany me after all of this.”
I looked at Celene who was looking at Lucien passively, with no expression left loose for Lucien to use it against her. She truly was an intelligent figure.
“I give my word on the condition that you and your Diablers will leave rest of them in peace, never to return.” She said and for fleeting moment, her eyes met mine and I smiled gratefully at what she just did.
“Consider it fulfilled.”
Chao would never haunt me again. Ever.
On the cue, Lucien let me go. I coughed loudly as my throat was almost choked by the dagger he held at my neck for so long. He did not even look at me but I understood why. He was afraid that if he looked away, Celene may be gone again and all of this would be for nothing.
He walked upto her and it all looked so animated as he neared her while she stood her ground firmly. He went beside her and gestured something, I looked behind me to find Chao and Death fading away and the magical hold on me loosened, so did everyone else’s. I looked at the front again and they were gone, like nobody was there in the first place.
“All that and he did not even bother to say a thank you, that ungrateful creature.” Everyone chuckled at Sloth’s comment. It all felt surreal as I stood looking at everyone.
Everything was fine now, my sisters were back.
We made it.
I smiled as small chatters broke out and everyone laughed and clapped at the victory, while starting to make their way inside the cabin.
I was about to join them when my knees gave out and I collapsed, sharp pain shot out throughout my body, my mark was burning and I could feel all my organs churning in a sick motion.
“K-Kian....”
I shut my eyes as the mark started burning with much more intensity than before. I could not figure out anything because of my clouded vision. It was all coming and going out like a glitch. The poison was still there.
“SHYE?!”
I heard footsteps rushing towards me and frantic screams accompanied with murmurs but I could not see anyone. I was lying on the floor, completely and utterly exhausted as my consciousness started to slip away.
Someone came beside me and picked me up. I wished for them to be Kian, maybe it was him for even in my weakest state his touch was giving me sparks which was making me even more dizzy.
“Hey hey hey, stay with me! Its going to be fine just keep your eyes open okay?!”
A memory of him and me in his apartment surfaced in my mind, I smiled weakly at him.
“You...lost...the b-bet.”

I did not think twice before shouting orders at everyone, my mind buzzing with worried thoughts as Shye remained cold and unconscious in my arms. I carried her inside while everyone followed me.
I walked into through the back door and made my way into the drawing room and lay her on one of the couches.
“We’ll have to get the poison out of her system, now.” One of her sister, I think Diligence said and I asked her as well everyone to do what is to be needed as soon as possible or I’ll have everyone’s head, earning collective glares from everyone.
Ignis and Silva hurried towards Shye with what looked like medical stuff and herbs for the ghastly looking burn on her fragile neck and for the poison that was coursing through her right now.
“Everyone wait outside.” Ignis told everyone to leave but I stayed back. No way I was going to leave her right now. Thankfully she did not argue either. Smart choice.
I took shye’s one hand in mine, her cold skin meeting with my warm hands, eliciting sparks throughout my body and I am sure hers too. It pained me to look at her as she laid there motionless, pale and tortured inside her own body. The dagger was laced with wisteria and even a drop of it is enough to leave us immortals to suffer in immense pain, I say that because I know how it feels. I had once experienced that when I was facing the Moon’s wrath.
I could not help but feel guilty at how I treated her. She had been nothing but good to me and I let her down. I acted out when I figured out that she went through my diary and it freaked me out because the person in those pages was someone I never wanted her to know like that. The thought of her believing into a version of me like I used to be would have made her think low of me and I did not want that. Of course I would have told her at some point but I wanted her to know me from me and nothing else.
I was not angry at her for reading my personal stuff, whatever is mine belongs to her, I, belong to her but I was angry at myself that I let her know something that I was not proud of even though I am Pride.
She is the little good that I want in my cursed life and knowing that she could have been gone after knowing who I was scared the hell out of me.
I did not want to lose her just like, I do not want to lose her now.
“Is she going to be okay?” I asked worriedly.
“Ssh.”
“Don’t you dare shush me. Answer me.” I snapped. Ignis really is a pain in ass.
“She will be if you shut the hell up!” She glared at me, and for once I kept quiet. I do not want her to burn the place down. That stupid fire inside her.
It took couple of hours before they completely got the poison out of her and once it was out, her wounds started to heal up.
Ignis and Silva both left the room leaving me with my mate. I asked her to not let anyone come in, making her leave the room with a smirk.
I smiled as I sat near Shye, her soft features looking even more beautiful than ever. She was still unconscious but her face looked more peaceful now. I kissed the back of her and caressed her cheek, waiting for her wound to heal up. Considering she is an immortal, that would happen soon.
I recalled all the times I had been with her. Now that I think of it seriously, her presence is all I want in my life, I do not want her to leave me ever like Celene did to Lucien.
I smiled and shook my head at her words.
You...lost...the b-bet.
I lost it a long time ago, Shye. A long time ago.
I remembered the day we made the bet and she went to sleep afterwards. I had been restless all night, thinking about our mate bond. I was worried that she would never accept me and I had been looking for my mate for centuries. So I slipped into her bedroom and had sat near her for hours, watching her as she slept oblivious to my presence and thats when I kissed the back of her hand. Just like now.
I just never admitted that to her.
I turned around as I heard someone knocking and footsteps coming in. It was Aurdon.
“How are you feeling?” He asked coming to sit opposite to me. I sighed.
“I am fine.”
“One hell of a night huh?” He said more to himself as I nodded, couldn’t able to agree more.
“Congratulations brother.”
I looked at him as he smiled honestly and it occurred to me that they all know now. I returned the smile gratefully. It was a huge burden lifted off me.
“How are others?” I asked changing the subject. I never thought everyone would agree to be a part of this but I guess crisis like these force everyone to keep their differences aside and walk together.
“Everyone is a bit shaken. They’ll be fine eventually.” Aurdon said shrugging. “You on the other hands should be worried.”
I frowned.
“Just one more day left for her to go back and trace the mark and frankly I don’t want anymore trouble.” He said reminding me. I nodded. On the cue, all the Virtues came in and checked on their sisters. We exchanged a few details before agreeing to take back Shye to Santo where other Virtues will help her trace back the mark.
“Keep her safe for me.” I kissed her on the forehead and let them vanish away with Shye.
I’ll see her soon.
