The She-Wolf Alpha (Book 1 She-Wolf Series)

Chapter 24

I saw Emerick nod out of the corner of my eye before getting out of the car and slamming the door. I thought he would just stomp inside the house, but instead he flung open my door. He held out his hand. When I took it, he pulled me to him. I put my hands on his chest to keep from crashing against him as he grabbed my chin and took my mouth in his.

Our kiss was desperate and deep. All the emotions of the last couple days seeped in and each of us fought for control. Emerick finally picked me up and wrapped my legs around him, pushing the pencil skirt I was wearing up to my waist. He unlocked the front door with one hand while the other he wrapped under me to keep me aloft. I felt my panties moisten at the thought that he was strong enough to support me easily with one arm. He must’ve felt it because I heard him growl low.

As soon as we were inside, he pushed me against the closed door. Kissing down my neck and using one hand to fondle my breast. I moaned and felt his erection thrust against my core.

“Em… please,” I begged, reaching for his belt.

He pulled away enough that I was able to free his cock. Then he pinned me against the wall again and I felt him guide himself to my entrance. He pushed my panties to the side. In one quick movement he was buried inside me. I gasped and heard him growl again.

I opened my eyes to find I was staring at a seriously pissed off male. For a moment, I wondered if I should be afraid, but then he started to move and I lost all thought. His pace that of a man on a mission. I felt my release building as he slammed into me repeatedly. He began tweaking my nipple, and I threw my head back as an orgasm ripped through me and I cried out his name.

As I came down, panting and resting my forehead on his shoulder, I felt him start walking and realized he was carrying me to the bedroom. Once there, he set me down and spun me around so that my back was to his front. He bent me forward so that I was over the edge of the bed before he, again, pushed his way inside me.

I was so wet and ready for him. All but incoherent, as he started pounding into me again. I knew that this was about more than making love. He was marking his territory, showing me who I was dealing with. But at that moment I didn’t care. I was lost in the ecstasy of his touch, at how erotic I found his dominant control.

He pulled me back against him so that my head rested against his chest, pulling my face towards him as he kissed me deep. His hand found its way between my legs. As his finger played with my clit, I murmured against his lips, but his iron grip held me in place. As a man and woman, I was no match for his strength. Ayisha would’ve been able to put up a fight against Zef, but she was enjoying this moment as much as I was.

I gripped his forearms, holding on as he continued his onslaught.

“I will never let another man near you, Sam,” he growled.

I opened my eyes to meet his, just as I felt another orgasm rip through me. I screamed his name as he continued stroking and thrusting into me, prolonging my pleasure until I felt him stiffen behind me. He roared as I felt him find his own release.

I sank into his arms, my head resting back against his shoulder. He buried his face in the crook of my neck, breathing deep. We stayed like that. The only sounds were our ragged breathing and racing hearts.

Finally, I started to pull away. Emerick sighed but let me go. Instead of leaving, I stripped off my now rumpled clothes before climbing into his bed. Emerick did the same, joining me. He pulled me against him tightly as we laid on our sides facing each other. I snuggled my cheek against his chest, listening to his heartbeat.

“I love you, Sam,” he whispered.

“I love you, too,” I replied, honestly.

I felt his body finally relax as his chin rested on the top of my head. Despite the truly awful couple of days we had had, my feelings for him were never gone. I wasn’t willing to lose Emerick because of what Celeste had tried to put between us.

“I was serious about mating you,” he said after a moment.

I pushed away to look into his face.

“Emerick, I’m not going let you make a rash offer after an emotional day and great makeup sex,” I told him.

“Hmm,” he grunted, untangling himself from me.

I sighed when he got out of bed. I thought he was going to stomp out of the room. Instead, he reached down and picked up his pants off the floor. I watched as he pulled a small box out of the pocket.

“Oh my god,” I said, “Where did you get that?”

“I went to see my parents earlier today,” he said and he made his way back to the bed, “This was my grandmother’s.”

He opened the box and the most beautiful ring I had ever seen glittered back at me. It was a vintage setting with a large sapphire in the center. Small diamonds made up an intricate pattern around it. I brought my trembling right hand to my mouth as he took my left one. To my surprise, the ring slid on, a perfect fit.

“Samantha Paulson, please make me the luckiest man in the world and marry me?” he said earnestly, “I’ve only known you a few days and already I know you have changed me for the better. Please give me the opportunity to show you every day how much you mean to me.”

“Oh, Emerick…” I trailed off.

Stephen’s words rang in the back of my mind. Mating Emerick guaranteed no other man would feel like he could take over my pack through the mating bond. Despite everything, I didn’t doubt the sincerity of his feelings for me. I knew there could be something spectacular between us.

I looked from the ring to his face, searching for the right words. How could I say yes? We barely knew each other, and yet... I wasn’t sure I wanted to say no.

“I need to talk to Luke,” I said finally.

Emerick nodded.

“And the Alpha Ceremony is in eight days. I don’t want to make any announcements before then,” I added.

Emerick frowned but said, “Okay, Sam.”

“Are you sure?” I asked.

“More than sure,” he said, his tone serious.

I sighed, “Okay.”

“Yeah?” He looked hopeful.

“Yes, Emerick. I will be your mate.”

He picked me up and stood, spinning us around.

“Hell yeah!” he whooped.

I giggled and slapped his chest lightly.

“You’re too much,” I chided.

He grinned down at me and then took my lips in his. I kissed him back, still feeling somewhat anxious. As we parted, he looked around thoughtfully.

“You know this is not how I planned to propose. I had a whole thing in the works,” he said.

“Oh really? Better than in our underwear, on your bed, after some makeup sex?” I teased.

He laughed, “I don’t know about better, but maybe a little more romantic.”

“Are we the romantic type?” I asked, still teasing, but Emerick’s smile fell.

“I’m sorry,” I said quickly. “I didn’t mean that as an insult or anything.”

“No you’re right. I haven’t even taken you on a proper date,” he realized and I could see his wheels turning. “That changes now. Get your coat dear. We’re going out.”

He dramatically gestured to the door.

I laughed, “Em, what are you doing?”

“I’m taking you on a date,” he said matter-of-factly. “Get dressed. I’m calling for reservations. The romance starts now.”

I giggled and rolled my eyes, but moved to do as he directed. The thought of a real date had me a little excited. It had been literal years.

In the other room, I heard Emerick arguing on the phone about whether there was a table available. I dug through my duffel bag and was disappointed at my options. Since I hadn’t necessarily planned for anything other than getting settled as the alpha, the only dress I brought was more business than date, but it would have to do.

I got to work on my makeup and quickly curled my hair. By the time Emerick made it back to his room, I was slipping on my heels. When I stood, I felt his eyes on me.

I did a quick turn and asked, “Does this look okay? Too office-y?”

“If you plan on looking like that in the office, I’m definitely not leaving your side at the pack house,” he said, stalking towards me.

I stopped his pursuit with a hand on his chest.

“Whoa there tiger,” I giggled. “None of that or we’ll never get out of here.”

“Fine,” he grumbled, but still leaned down to brush his lips softly against mine. God, he tasted good.

Too soon, he followed my request and pulled away, smirking when he saw my disappointment. Then we made our way down the driveway, hand in hand.
