The Rogue Alpha

Chapter Discovering Gifts

We decided to go to town, together, in human form, in my bro's car. We found a black bandana for Alpha Nolan to wear, he put it just above his eyebrows so it fully covered the Silver Kiss.

"It's a good thing I'm never seen in my human form." Alpha Nolan stated.

I asked, "Then how do they have a picture of you for my folder?"

He looked at me weirdly, so I showed him the red page from my folder. He looked at it and said, "That's got to be at least 15 years old." He informed us.

"Well, you haven't changed much since then." My bro pointed out.

"Only the Lunas even have this picture to go by. If we avoid them we should be alright." I said, hoping I was right.

My bro picked up the envelope the invitation came in, and placed the invitation back inside. "When we get there I'll find Sammy Sam, she's hanging out with some of her friends at the hotel tonight, and we'll get this returned to pre-opened condition. DoJo find Alpha Erik and get him to lead you to Alpha Zech. He instructed.

I looked at Alpha Nolan. "Do your best to stay unseen until I find him. If need be I'll open his patio doors or something, so you can join us."

We were agreed, we had a plan, now we just had to execute it.

We arrived and parked in a dark corner of the side lot, fairly close to where I sensed Alpha Erik. My bro rushed off to find Sammy Sam. I gave Alpha Nolan a hug before slipping off to find Alpha Erik.

I had to concentrate on searching for him, ignoring Alpha Nolan, and avoiding as many people as possible. When I was finally standing outside the door I was certain was his, my heart was racing. I knocked and waited anxiously for the door to open. I heard some commotion inside.

The door opened to a shirtless Alpha Erik. His eyes radiated his surprise as I asked, "Can I come in?"

He nodded his head and stepped back.

I stepped in and closed the door.

He put his hand on my shoulder and asked, "Is everything okay?"

I saw an image of Luna Shelly the moment he touched me. I smiled. "Please tell me that Luna Shelly is the person you're hiding in here."

She stepped out of the bathroom. "How did you know?"

"I didn't." I replied, "I hoped."

I went over and hugged her. Instantly an image of Alpha Erik appeared in my head. I turned to him and motioned for him to come over. He obeyed. I grabbed his hand, while holding hers, and saw them bathed in a silver light. "Have the two of you chosen each other?" I asked cautiously.

"Nothing official." Alpha Erik answered.

Luna Shelly admitted, "I snuck over here because I was leaning towards him, and wanted to be certain."

I shook my head. I was getting distracted. I turned to Alpha Erik, letting go of both of their hands. "Do you know where Alpha Zech is?"

He replied, "I thought he released you."

I rolled my eyes. "Which is why I need your help finding him."

"You're not going to refuse the release, are you?"

I gave him a puzzled look. "Is that even possible?"

"If protocol wasn't followed precisely." He answered.

"I need his help." I told Alpha Erik, "I'll explain everything once we find him."

He walked to a door I hadn't paid any attention to, opened it to reveal another door and knocked on it. "Adjoining rooms." He explained as if it wasn't obvious.

I turned to Luna Shelly. "Has Luna Elise decided who she wants to be with?"

"Not to the best of my knowledge." Luna Shelly answered, "She's worried about who will be left to choose between, she's last pick."

I grimaced. "See if you can find her, and bring her back here. I need to test something out."

Luna Shelly nodded her head and left the room, moving swiftly and quietly.

Alpha Zech answered his adjoining door, "What's up cuz?"

Alpha Erik stepped aside, while raising his arm towards me. "Someone wants to talk to you."

Alpha Zech looked at me. "How can I help you, Luna DoJo?"

I looked out the balcony window. "Does this by chance face the side lot?"

"It does." Alpha Erik said, "Will you tell us what is going on?"

"Mind if someone else joins us? He really shouldn't be out in the open."

"By all means." Alpha Zech replied with a smile.

I opened the curtains, and slid the door open. Alpha Nolan leapt to the balcony before I could say his name.

I pulled him inside and closed the door and curtains as fast as I could.

I explained, "Luna Eleanor has some kind of game she's playing. She gave my Beta an invitation to the mating game ritual for me to deliver to Alpha Nolan. No one knows we've read it. Since he's a rogue he doesn't have Wolf Wear clothes, and would be at a disadvantage. Because you're the closest in size I was hoping he could tell you what he wants, you could put in an order tomorrow, and we could alter anything that was still too big."

Alpha Zech raised his hands up. "While that sounds like a great, but complicated plan, I have a simpler solution."

Alpha Nolan stated, "We'd love to hear it."

"I went through a growth spurt last week, just a couple days before arriving. I literally went to the tailor first thing when I got here. I didn't bother unpacking the clothes I had originally planned to wear, and have been trying to figure out what to do with them. I was a lot closer to his size before my growth spurt. He's welcome to as much as he wants of my old wardrobe. He can even try them on in my bathroom, if they're too small we can always fall back on your plan."

Alpha Nolan smiled and followed Alpha Zech into his room.

Just before the door closed I heard Alpha Zech say, "Gotta warn you, there's not much color selection, I was going through a black phase."

A few minutes later there was a soft knock on Alpha Erik's door. Without thinking I rushed to open it. Lunas Elise and Shelly slipped in quietly.

Each gave me a hug as they entered. When Luna Elise hugged me I saw an image of Alpha Vince. I smiled. Until that moment I wouldn't have pictured the five foot Luna and the six two Alpha together, but my wolf seemed to know these things now. Then I thought about how her spitfire and his calm humor probably compliment each other.

"What's going on?" Luna Shelly inquired.

So I explained what I originally came for, and how I had gotten distracted by this ability that appears to have developed after my wolf chose her mate, and branded him. "I don't want word of any of this getting to the elders, or worse yet, Luna Eleanor." I warned.

"We won't say anything." The Lunas and Alpha Erik said in unison.

"So, who's my mate?" Luna Elise asked anxiously.

I grinned and told her, "Alpha Vince."

"I definitely approve." She said with a mischievous smile.

"You can't go running off and picking him." I reminded her, "They'll get suspicious of their games aren't followed. But if we work together with the other potential mates, even without Luna Therese or Derik, we can get everyone their perfect mate, as long as they're here."

"Too bad you couldn't do that for me, before I released all the Lunas." Alpha Zech whispered.

I hadn't realized he'd returned, but I quickly crossed the room and gave him a hug. As I released him I declared, "I don't think your mate has come of age yet. All I can see is beautiful green eyes that will capture your heart."

Alpha Zech smiled. "Sounds like something worth waiting for."

"She is." I replied.

Alpha Erik asked, "Can you only tell Alphas and Lunas, or does this gift work with everyone?"

I shrugged my shoulders. "I've only just discovered it, and only tried on the people in this room."

"There's nothing official planned for the next few days." Luna Shelly pointed out, "We could do a meet the Silver Luna event, say day after tomorrow, without telling anyone why, and see if we can make some truly happy couples."

"First we need to find out if it works on other ranks." Luna Elise stated.

Alpha Zech mentioned, "If we have the event for Luna DoJo only it will raise suspicions."

Alpha Nolan sat in a corner watching the rest of us. I was aware of his presence, but he seemed more comfortable watching than participating, and I didn't see any reason to drag him into the conversation, so I left him be.

"So, it's a simple solution." I prodded, "Just bring me some lower ranked wolves that you can trust, and have them bring their packet with them."

Alpha Zech smiled. "I'm known for spontaneous parties. I'll have my room semi-filled in ten minutes, fifteen at the most."

I turned to Alpha Nolan. "That gives me at least ten minutes to get you out of here, and explain everything to my bro."

"My leaving is the easy part." He exclaimed as he went to the curtains and opened the door while carrying a small suitcase, presumably filled with the clothes he'd picked out. He then slipped through the curtains and leapt off the balcony.

I declared, "The rest of you get to figure out how to convince people to bring their packets to a party, while I find my bro."

I then left without waiting for anyone to respond.
