Chapter 47: The Crystal at the North Pole.
“Yes!”
Thorax Zelinkom shone with glee when he realised that his prediction was correct. Xenora had a stable climate in the polar regions of the planet.
“What are you so excited about? It’s freezing cold here. We will freeze to death when the sun sets.”
Thorax looked at Dijana, who was petite compared to most Xenos. Measuring two metres, she had been the shortest adult in her tribe. Impressed by Thorax’s superior intelligence, Dijana had fallen for him, and here they were, at the world’s edge.
“Ahhh…. My beautiful Dijana. You are missing the point. The sun will not set while we are here. We will live in tranquil twilight without the need to keep moving.” Thorax replied.
“But the sun moves in the sky. How would you make it stop?” Dijana asked.
Thorax bit his lip and looked at Dijana. While he enjoyed the sex, her beauty, and her infatuation with him, her lack of intelligence annoyed him. Such was the curse of being a hybrid. Among the Xenos, he was a genius, so he had to suffer the idiocy of his peers.
“My dear Dijana. We have discussed this already. The sun is not moving in the sky. Instead, Xenora is rotating around its axis, creating the illusion that the sun is moving. Since Xenora doesn’t have an angular tilt and seasons, the polar regions are always in the twilight zone.” Thorax replied.
“This place is cold and barren. How can the North Pole be the future of our people?” Dijana asked.
“The cold is manageable. The Zetans have colonised many places like this in the past. We need to gather the sun’s rays and use them for heating and farming. This is the only place without the searing midday heat. This is where we will create Xeno Civilization.” Thorax stated.
Having said this, Thorax noticed how Dijana showed signs of wanting to mate. He was about to mount her when something more important caught his senses. He sensed that Xenora’s Zeto Crystal was nearby. The presence of the Zeto Crystal at the North Pole made sense. Destiny had taken him to the only place where a permanent settlement was possible, so the crystal had to be close.
“Growl…… Copulation will have to wait, my lovely. There is something far more important to do.” Thorax stated.
Dijana gave him a confused look and replied, “What is more important than sex?”
“The Zeto Crystal is nearby. Once it is mine, nothing will stop me from ruling this planet.” Thorax exclaimed.
As Dijana poked her lizard-like tongue and licked her shiny claws, Thorax added, “Rahhawhaw! Once WE have the Zeto Crystal, nothing will stop US from ruling this planet together.”
Dijana scratched Thorax’s arm with her claw, licked the blood from the superficial cut, and replied flirtatiously, “That’s better, my love. Never forget that we are a team.”
“I would never forget that, my dear Dijana,” Thorax replied, although his inner thoughts were less cordial. ‘I better get rid of her when I have the Zeto Crystal. I will not co-rule with that stupid bitch. She is only good for a fuck.’
After their conversation, Thorax got up, and he let his intuition lead him in the direction of the Xenora Zeto Crystal. Immense powers would soon be his!

“Why are you staring at that rock? What is so special about it?”
Dijana’s words awakened Thorax from his mesmerised trance. How long had he been standing here? Once they had found the Xenora Zeto Crystal, he was stunned by its beauty and potential to change the fundaments of the universe.
“What do you mean? Can’t you see the beautiful light that irradiates from the crystal? Can’t you feel the immense power it has over the universe?” Thorax exclaimed.
“It’s just a gemstone. I have seen similar stones in the past. How is this sapphire going to make us the masters of this planet?” Dijana asked confusedly.
Thorax looked at Dijana and then turned his eyes to the crystal. It was still as magnificent as it had been moments earlier. There were only two explanations. Either Dijana was blind to the crystal’s magnificent powers, or he had lost his mind.
There was only one way to find out. He needed to grab the crystal and use its powers against Dijana. That approach would prove him right!
Thorax ran up to the altar where the crystal was placed. As he grabbed it, he tried blasting Dijana with a psionic blast. She gave him a confused look and said, “Grrmm… What are you doing? Why are you waving your hands like that…?”
‘Ah, so the Xenos have immunity against psionic powers.’ Thorax realised. While the revelation didn’t shock him, it amazed him that Dijana didn’t even flinch while he was holding the Zeto Crystal. Yet, if the Zeto Crystal’s powers didn’t work against the Xenos, he would never be able to use it to dominate the planet.
“This is pathetic. I can’t believe I followed you to this desolate place. I am returning to Grichuk’s harem. I need a real man!” Dijana hissed, turned around, and crept towards the exit.
Hearing Dijana’s taunt in his moment of defeat made Thorax see red. If he couldn’t use the Zeto Crystal’s powers to control her, he would use it to bludgeon her. Thorax grabbed the crystal, sprinted towards Dijana, and slammed her in the back of the head. As she slumped to the ground, he kept bashing her with the Zeto Crystal until he heard a cracking noise and Dijana’s greenish brain substance splashed on the ground.
Thorax collapsed next to Dijana’s lifeless body. He had lost everything. The Xenora Zeto Crystal was useless, and he had murdered his fuck buddy out of an impulse. The only thing left to do was jumping off a cliff to end it all. But, before moving on with his suicidal plans, Thorax looked at the Zeto Crystal. It had changed. Being used to bludgeon Dijana, it had absorbed the colour of her greenish-red blood, and it shone with a crimson red light. His destiny was to obtain the Xenoran Zeto crystal and turn it into a dark crystal. Thorax instinctively knew that an era of dominion and terror had begun.
