The Return of the Disguised Princess

Chapter 101

Chapter 101 Encounter
Rex was not a punctilious person and just wanted to ask Jeff to order as he pleased. Rex had been out all year round, and he
didn’t care much about food.
On second thought, he could be unconcerned about the food, but Amelie was picky. So, Rex handed the menu to Amelie, and he
chatted with Jeff.
“How coincidental. I didn’t expect to meet you again with a different identity after so many years.”
Rex poured himself a glass of liquor and wanted to fill Jeff’s glass with it. Unexpectedly, Jeff took out the champagne he brought.
“Rex, different places have different customs. I’ll drink some champagne.”
Rex did not care. He waved his hand and continued to chat, “Where were you transferred after you were injured? I haven’t heard
any news.”
“Don’t mention it. I was transferred to the Information Gathering Department. Originally, with my light injuries, I could go back
after recovering. However, my family kept pressuring me to take good care of myself and not mess around anymore, so I stayed
in the Information Gathering Department.”
Jeff raised his head and gulped a glass of champagne. “It was probably the year before last. My father passed away. I had no
choice but to leave the organization and go back to help take care of the family business.”
“Help take care of the family business?”
Amelie raised her eyebrows and thought.
Although the Capet family was a big family and had many branches, it was strictly inherited. The branch family could not
participate in family management. Only the direct descendants were qualified.
In other words...
As if confirming her conjecture, Rex blurted out, “Are you a direct descendant of the Capet family?”
“Yes,” Jeff smiled. “However, in the past two years, the Capet family has declined a lot. It’s better not to mention those
meaningless titles.”

Amelie was shocked in her heart. When had the Capet family ever been in decline? Jeff
was too modest.
Since its establishment, it had always been famous in the investment industry and was always in prosperity.
After a few glasses of wine, Jeff and Rex were a little drunk.
Amelie silently picked up food and couldn’t help but sigh in her heart, they don’t even drink the same kind of wine. How could
they be chatting so fervently?
Tinkle...
Amelie glanced at her phone. It was a message from Lamont.
“Where are you? Come out for a drink. Let’s have a chat.”
It was so late, yet Lamont still asked Amelie out.
He didn’t have good intentions.
“I don’t have time for now. Let’s talk about work during the day.”
Looking at the short line of words on the screen, Lamont put his phone on the bar counter somewhat disappointedly. He said to
the bartender, “Another glass of gin fizz.”
Soon, a glass of cocktail was placed in front of Lamont.
Lamont gulped it. The cold liquid mixed with bubbles went straight into his stomach. It was as if he could still feel the pleasure of
small bubbles popping up in his stomach.
He should have been happy after taking down Macey. The invisible shackles that had bound him in the past were finally
removed.
However, when Lamont returned to the Byron’s house, he was not excited at all.
All of a sudden, he seemed to have nothing but money,
His loved ones left him one by one. In this world, there was no one that he could not rely

1. on.
Lamont finished his dinner casually.
He ate alone in the dining room and recalled that when Amelie was still by his side, he
never felt lonely when eating.
Amelie seemed to always have some strange thoughts in her mind. When she stayed alone with Lamont, she would tell them to
him, but Lamont never took it to heart. He was so busy handling the affairs in the company, and how could he be in the mood to
listen to her irrelevant nonsense?
At that time, Lamont did not know that the more “nonsense” a person said in a day, the happier he would be. Amelie only wanted
him to become happy, yet she was ruthlessly
refuted.
Now, Amelie became the capable and resourceful president of a company, and Lamont also received her help.
Unconsciously, Lamont’s vision became hazy, and the things in front of him overlapped. He was unable to see clearly.
Suddenly, a face appeared in front of him.
“Mr. Byron.
“Mr. Byron?
“Mr. Byron...”
Lamont thought in a daze. Because of the secret marriage, he often asked Amelie to call
him “Mr. Byron“.
Was Amelie there?
Lamont tried hard to open his eyes wide, yet he could only see a woman with wavy hair.
It should be Amelie, right?

Lamont fell forward and murmured, “Sorry. I’m sorry...”
Miriam was stunned to see Lamont who had taken the initiative to throw himself into
her arms. Her mind had long gone blank.
“Wake up, Mr. Byron.”
Miriam shook Lamont with all her might, and all her efforts were in vain.
Lamont, who had drunk more than a dozen glasses of wine, was drunk and unconscious.
“What... What should I do?” Miriam looked around helplessly.
Miriam came to the bar only to have a few drinks after work to relieve her fatigue from
working for a day. She didn’t expect to see Lamont at a glance.
She had no choice but to help Lamont up and walk out bit by bit.
After going through a lot of hardships, Miriam finally dragged him to the underground parking lot.
“Lamont?”
Miriam looked up. Not far away, there were two men and a woman. She recognized that the woman in the middle was Amelie,
the president of Starry Sea Entertainment.
Amelie and the others had just finished their dinner.
“Ms. Mullen.” Miriam nodded at Amelie unnaturally. Anyone who saw Miriam being with Lamont would be embarrassed, not to
mention that they were subordinates.
At that moment, Lamont was still half–drunk and kept muttering apologies to Miriam in a low voice.
Although Amelie was surprised, she did not ask more. She couldn’t bother to care about the relationship between Lamont and
Miriam. After nodding at Miriam slightly, she took Rex and Jeff away.

Rex had drunk liquor, and he was almost the same as Lamont. Rex was shouting “I am not drunk“, while Jeff was much better.
Jeff was looking at Lamont not far away with a playful look.
“Do you know each other?”
Amelie nodded. “Yes. He and I should be considered competitors.”
In a certain apartment.
“I’m exhausted.”
Miriam put Lamont on the sofa and sat on the sofa, panting heavily.
She did not know where Lamont’s house was. When she asked him, he did not respond.
So, she had no choice but to take him back to her home.
Miriam admitted that she had some selfish and fluke intentions.
She turned to look at Lamont. Then, she got up and helped him to the bed.
Miriam decided to resign herself to her fate. She wanted to see if Lamont would lose self–control when he was drunk.
Miriam lay next to Lamont carefully. Soon, a hand was placed on her waist.
