Chapter 100
Chapter 100 Fragments
“Let go of me!”
Macey struggled hard. Finally, she managed to break free and rushed forward with a large stride.
“I have evidence! Willard is the mastermind!”
“Mrs. Byron, if there is evidence, please show it to us. Otherwise, please don’t make a ruckus in a majestic place like the court!”
The judge rushed over after hearing the news and pointed at Macey angrily.
“Alright, I’ll find it for you right now!” Macey took out her phone from her handbag with a face full of resentment, trying to find the
chat record between Willard and her.
Unfortunately, because of Willard’s intentional evasiveness, the chat records were completely untraceable. Other than the
ambiguous conversation from before, there was no other evidence.
“This... This is the record of Willard asking my lover to send me the poison that day!”
Macey had no choice but to show the chat record to the person in front of her.
Willard took a closer look calmly and explained seriously, “Didn’t you ask me to send you some medical herbs a few days ago?
You haven’t slept well recently, so your spleen. and stomach are weak. Macey, how can you forget it?”
“You’re lying!”
Macey’s eyes were red. “Willard, what are you trying to do?”
“What did I do? I’m helping you analyze the so–called evidence. If you can’t remember anything, just leave it to the police and
the court. I think you are not in a good state to continue talking about it.”
Willard waved his hand and asked the bailiffs to pull Macey away, and he left with them.
Soon, the room that had just been crowded instantly quieted down, leaving only a few
people.
“Have you seen enough?”
Lamont had long noticed Amelie at the door and waved at her.
“Do you think Willard is innocent?”
Amelie asked and did not answer Lamont’s question.
“If he was innocent, I wouldn’t have to go through so much trouble now.” Lamont tidied up the documents slowly and put them
into his briefcase. “It’s just that I don’t want to deal with him now. I’ll investigate further.”
Amelie made way and allowed Lamont to walk out of the room.
Willard cooperated with the bailiffs‘ investigation. After that, he returned to his villa on the outskirts of the city.
Apart from the housekeepers who occasionally came to clean the house, he was the only one who lived there.
Willard went to the study and sat on the swivel chair in relief, quietly staring at the
door.
He liked the feeling of sitting in the dark and thinking alone. This way, he could truly
relax.
After a while, Willard opened the drawer and took out an exquisite velvet box.
He opened it, and there was a pile of ceramic fragments inside.
It was the fragments of the enameled teapot that Macey had accidentally broken that
day.
Willard picked up one of the fragments and placed it in his palm. The uneven patterns
made him feel especially at ease.
It was at the bottom of the teapot. There was Leila’s handprint and a small “Leila”
character on it.
Leila had lost the teapot once when she was a child. Willard treasured everything about his daughter, including the teapot with
the handprint of the newly born Leila.
Ever since Leila was forced to go abroad for shelter, Willard took out the teapot from the cabinet and held it all day long.
In fact, Willard did not like Macey’s usual arrogant style. It was fine if she lost her temper occasionally, and he could endure it.
However, she broke his most precious thing!
Moreover, she apologized to him with such an indifferent tone!
Macey could be so cruel as to scheme against her son, but Willard couldn’t.
Even a tiger wouldn’t hurt its child. So, Willard wouldn’t let Macey off.
Now, it seemed that his plan was quite successful. Fortunately, he had been well–prepared. Even if Macey had a silver tongue,
she wouldn’t be able to explain it.
Just as Willard was lost in his thoughts, the huge floor–to–ceiling window behind him was hit by something.
“Who is it?”
Willard turned his head and suddenly tensed up.
“Tsk, tsk, tsk. Your sister has been detained, yet you are still in the mood to stare at a pile of fragments here.”
The person was turning his back to light, so Willard could not see his appearance and could only vaguely recognize that it was a
man.
“Who are you?”
Willard felt a chill in his heart. He turned on the table lamp on the book table, trying to see what the person looked like. However,
the light in the room made him even more
unable to see the situation outside.
He walked to the window hurriedly and struggled to open the window. A cold wind blew straight to his collar.
There was no shadow outside the window.
Willard could not help but shiver. He locked the window and returned to the bedroom quickly.
“Did you see the news? Macey...”
In the Mullen’s house, Celia browsed the trending topic on the phone with a surprised
expression. “The incident happening in the interview two days ago took a new turn. Macey is so unscrupulous.”
“It is retribution for evil. Don’t think much about it.”
Eden sipped his coffee as he looked at the stock index on the whiteboard. “Now, Amelie’s Starry Sea Entertainment benefits the
most. It is said that a person who is in a high position will be conceited. If you have nothing to do, remember to remind Amelie
of it.”
“Got it.”
“Who are you talking about?”

Amelie came out of the bedroom and was carrying a bag of bread, asking with a smile.
Because of the less pressure on her work, she looked much better recently.
“You. Don’t be conceited at this time.” Celia looked at Eden unhappily and said, “Amelie, you have grown up and should have
understood these principles. Just be at ease and do whatever you want steadily. Your father and I will always be your backers.”
“Okay.”
Amelie trotted forward and held Celia. “By the way, I may not come back for dinner tonight. Jeff wants to treat Rex and me to a
meal.”
Celia and Eden were both stunned. After exchanging a casual glance, they put on a knowing smile.
After Amelie left, Celia covered her mouth and smiled, “Do you know much about Jeff? I
think he is interested in Amelie.”
“I can tell it. We still have to see if he is upright. Be more patient.”
That night, Amelie and Rex arrived at the restaurant that Jeff had booked early.
The sky restaurant was on the top floor of the shopping mall adjacent to the Byron Group building. It was famous for its excellent
location and its exquisite luxury dishes.
“You’re here.”
Jeff had sat in the private room and was flipping through the menu. Seeing Rex and
Amelie enter, he hurriedly moved aside and let Amelie sit next to Rex.
“Rex, I don’t know what you and Amelie like to eat. I only ordered a few side dishes.”
