Seeing that her uncle’s position as the hospital director was about to be lost, Chloe begged for mercy in fear. 

“Mrs. Reeves, I’m sorry. It’s my fault. Please don’t blame my uncle. He’s innocent. I’m sorry. It’s all my fault.” 

The Reeves family was the largest shareholder of Healthstone Hospital, and it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that the hospital belonged to the Reeves family. Therefore, Elizabeth had the authority to remove her uncle from his position with just a word. 

Elizabeth’s gaze turned cold as she stared at Chloe. She said, “Now you know how to beg for mercy? It’s too late. Nancy is a member of our Reeves family. You don’t understand that keeping someone as brainless as you in the hospital is pointless. Go away with your uncle” 

Chloe pleaded nervously, ‘Mrs. Reeves, it was my foolishness that offended Nancy. I’ll leave, but my uncle is innocent. It wouldn’t be fair to dismiss him, would it?” 

Elizabeth sneered. “I’m not here to reason with you. I’m just supporting my granddaughter-in-law!”

She replied, “Alright, what you said is not wrong. Since she doesn’t qualify as Director Schuman’s direct relative, I won’t hold him responsible for his niece’s actions. Let him continue as the director.” 

Christine said, “Mrs. Reeves, it’s windy here. Let me support you back” 

Christine supported Elizabeth back to the ward. 

Elizabeth touched Christine’s hand, devoid of the previous sternness, and lovingly said, “Yesterday, you and my grandson left the hospital and never returned. Where did you go?” 

Elizabeth was an elegant old lady, but there was a glimmer of childlike curiosity in her eyes. 

Christine replied. “Mrs. Reeves, Lindsay had a fever, so I went to take care of her yesterday.” 

Elizabeth’s face changed instantly upon hearing this. “Lindsay had a fever? How is she now? Why didn’t anyone tell me?” Elizabeth’s face became stern. Those people didn’t do their job properly, causing my precious Lindsay to have a fever! No, I have to change the people taking care of her.” 

Christine quickly said, “Mrs. Reeves, please don’t worry. Lindsay just had a slight fever, and it can promote the body’s metabolism. Moreover, Lindsay is already fine now and has gone to kindergarten.” 

“Thank you for taking care of her. She has always been wary of strangers, but she became close to you.” 

Elizabeth and Daisy were happy to see Lindsay’s fondness for Dr. Nancy.
