Chapter 10
“You’re telling me you can’t fix this virus, Alaric? I didn’t bring you here to be a mascot! Randall towered over Alaric, squinting his eyes, his voice deepened.
Alaric felt the overwhelming pressure, and nervously replied, “Mr. Reeves, this virus is too cunning and brutal. Judging from its techniques, it’s the work of Skyy, the second–ranked hacker on the global hacker list.
“Skyy is a top–tier hacker who emerged just two years ago. Nobody knows their real identity, and they say there’s no system defense in the world they can’t breach.”
Randall could not believe that they dared to hack into the Reeves Group system. He wanted to make sure they would get severe punishment.
The scrolling message on the screen taunted him with the words, “The scumbag dad enjoys the sex, but shirks the responsibility.”
Randall’s mind suddenly recalled Oliver and Milo he had seen at the company’s entrance earlier.
His frown deepened. He wondered if they were behind this.
But he quickly dismissed the idea. After all, they were just six years old.
They could not be Skyy, the top–tier global hacker.
There must be someone pulling the strings behind the scenes.
Randall exuded a chilling aura, his gaze coldly fixed on Derick as he said, “Get me all the information on a woman named ‘Christine Paul.‘ I want everything on her right now.”
Derick didn’t understand why Randall suddenly wanted to investigate Christine, but her name sounded vaguely familiar to him.
After Derick left, Randall made a call to their family’s chauffeur.
“Take Lindsay to Reeves Group.
“Yes, Mr. Reeves.”
In the Scenic Bay villa, Christine woke up, pulled back the curtains, and was greeted by the bright but slightly blinding sunlight. She had not expected to sleep in so late. It was already 9:30 am. As she stretched lazily, she made her way downstairs.
She noticed sandwiches and milk on the table, but today’s sandwiches seemed a bit cold. Normally, Milo’s sandwiches were always warm.
“Milo? Oliver?”
It was then that Christine realized both Oliver and Milo were missing. She searched the villa inside and out but could not find them. This was their first time in Archiland, and she had no idea where they could have gone.
Quickly checking their location, she discovered they were at Reeves Group.
This left her bewildered. She could not fathom why Oliver and Milo would go to Reeves Group. With no time to ponder, she hurriedly drove there.
“Excuse me, have you seen these two kids?” Christine showed the security guard a picture of Oliver and Milo.
At the same time, in Randall’s office on the twenty–ninth floor, someone was reporting this news to Randall.
“Mr. Reeves, there’s a woman downstairs looking for the two kids from earlier.”
Randall’s fingers, with prominent knuckles, held the phone as his eyes narrowed slightly. “Bring her up.”
Accompanied by the receptionist, Christine took the elevator to the twenty–ninth floor and entered the office alone.
“I’m sorry, my two sons are missing. The receptionist said they were here.”
As Christine finished speaking, the boss’s chair turned around.
She could not help but catch her breath when she saw the man seated there. She did not expect that man to be Randall.
Christine was now feeling perplexed. She couldn’t understand why the receptionist had brought her to the CEO’s office. She had clearly told the receptionist that she was here to find her sons. Doubts started creeping in as she questioned whether Randall had so much free time on his hands that he would even concern himself with finding children, such a trivial matter.
With a sharp gaze, Randall scrutinized Christine. When he heard her voice earlier, he had already suspected it might be her. And as he turned around, his intuition proved correct. It was indeed Christine standing before him.
Now, Randall was under the impression that Christine was Skyy, the lacker ranked second on the global hacker list. This revelation surprised him, as he had initially dismissed her as a scheming woman with no real technical skills.
Chapter 1010
Approaching Christine with heavy and powerful steps, Randall exuded an undeniable air of authority.
I had thought you were just another brainless woman trying to get my attention. But it seems you actually have some skills up your sleeve.”
The overwhelming aura made Christine feel uneasy. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. Where are my sons?”
Christine had not forgotten that she was here to find Oliver and Milo.
“Your two little mischief–makers hacked our company’s computers.”
Christine was taken aback when she found out that Oliver had hacked someone’s computer again. She was at a loss for words. This was no surprise. It had to be Oliver’s doing.
At this moment, Christine really wanted to grab Oliver and question him loudly, “Why on earth did you mess with this annoying guy?”
“Where are my boys? And… why do you call my sons ‘little mischief–makers?”
As a mother, she would not let anyone insult her children, no matter how intimidating Randall looked. She would not allow him to disrespect her kids.
Randall observed Christine before him, closing in on her, whispering in her car with a teasing tone, “The little mischief–maker claimed he can foresee the future, that having him in my life would bring me endless prosperity. He even said he’s my son.”
Christine froze. These words were beyond shocking to her.
Randall raised Christine’s chin with a raised eyebrow, his voice gentle and subtle, “But I don’t remember having two sons.”
Without warning, Randall embraced Christine’s waist, pressing her against the wall, and lifted her right leg, placing it around his waist. He spoke provocatively, “Seems like you need to help me remember how I ended up with two sons, Christine.”
The impact on her back jolted Christine back to her senses. She was stunned, unable to comprehend how Randall knew her name. They had no history together, no memories to recall. She could not fathom what he meant by helping him
remember.
“It’s a misunderstanding, really. Let me go.” Christine struggled, but Randall’s grip tightened.
“A misunderstanding? That’s quite a flimsy excuse,” Randall replied coldly.
Christine’s mind was in turmoil. She could not believe Oliver and Milo came to Randall to claim him as their father. She suddenly remembered when Oliver and Milo first saw Randall at the airport, they thought he resembled them and believed he was their dad.
But kinship was not determined solely by looks. There were kids on the internet who resembled celebrities, yet that did not. make them related. It was merely a coincidence. She could not believe that Oliver and Milo took it seriously.
“Miss, you’re distracted.”
Christine, with her leg around Randall’s waist, felt extremely embarrassed.
“Mr. Reeves, kids say anything. I’m sure you wouldn’t bother with two little children, Christine tried to reason.
“Not bother? Look at this.” Randall’s eyebrows arched, his eyes cold and proud.
Suddenly, he forcefully dragged Christine to the computer table, restraining her hands behind her, and forced her to look at
the screen.
On the computer screen were scrolling green words.
The scumbag dad enjoys the sex, but shirks the responsibility!”
Christine felt like she was about to explode.
Although Oliver and Milo often caused trouble for her, she never expected them to create such a mess this time. She could not fathom what was going on in Oliver and Milo’s minds. Their actions left her puzzled, unable to fathom their motives. Claiming him as their father and causing such a scene was beyond her comprehension.
She could not believe how simplistic Oliver and Milo’s thought process was. They seemed to believe that merely resembling someone meant they were fathers and sons without any further consideration.
There was nothing more embarrassing than this.
