gentle night breeze carried a hint of intoxication while the crescent moon hung in the sky like a wound
Two girls were talking in room 1805, Royalyork Hotel.
Sis, I’m pregnant. Dad will definitely kill me. I’m so scared,” said Blanche Paul, her voice trembling.
Christine Paul’s breath caught, and she stared at her sister Blanche in disbelief.
Christine could not understand how Blanche got pregnant when she did not have a boyfriend.
Trying to remain composed. Christine swiftly grabbed the wine glass from Blanche’s hand and said sternly, “You’re pregnant. You can’t drink!”
Tm unmarried and pregnant. Dad will kill me if he finds out. I might as well drink myself to death,” Blanche replied.
Christine furrowed her brow. “Don’t drink.
“No, I want to. It’s a shame to waste such good wine,” Blanche insisted.
Seeing her determination, Christine snatched the wine and downed it in one gulp.
Tell me, who’s the father of your child?” Christine asked, her eyes fixed on the empty glass.
Blanche looked at Christine with a slightly intoxicated expression and said, “Sis, what do you think of Mr. Erickson from the Erickson Group
Christine’s heart skipped a beat.
“Blanche, are you joking? Hanley Erickson from the Erickson Group is already sixty years old.”
“Sis. Mr. Erickson is actually quite impressive. He’s the CEO of a publicly traded company. Even though he’s sixty years old, he has been investing in medical research and regularly takes the most advanced drugs and supplements. His health is exceptional. In bed, he’s just as potent as a young man.” Blanche insisted.
Christine, frustrated, could not help but say, “Blanche, have you lost your mind? No matter how potent he may be, he’s still
not a young man‘”
“Sis. you haven’t tried being with him. How would you know?” Blanche’s eyes suddenly turned cold, resembling the eyes of a snake, sending shivers down Christine’s spine.
Christine instantly realized something was wrong.
Suddenly, dizziness overwhelmed her, and her limbs grew weak while her heart raced.
She had drunk something she should not have
“Blanche, what did you put in the drink?”
“Sis, you’re so smart. You figured it out. But don’t worry. It’s a drug that will give you and Mr. Erickson a happy time.” Blanche laughed, covering her mouth. Christine’s forehead dripped with sweat, and her consciousness started to fade.
Christine fought to stay upright, her eyes filled with a chilling gleam.
“Why would you do this to me?”
Blanche innocently replied. “Sis, didn’t you want to know who the father of my child is? I’ll tell you. It’s Duncan.”
Christine’s eyes narrowed. Duncan was her fiancé,
They had betrayed her.
Christine was filled with disbelief and anger, but she suppressed the fury within her.
She looked at the smug Blanche and sneered. “You like Duncan? He’s all yours. After all, I throw away so much trash every day. One more won’t make a difference!”
Christine tried to gather herself and leave, but Blanche blocked her way, shamelessly saying, “Sis, I feel guilty for stealing your fiancé. So, I’ll give you a man in return. Mr. Erickson is coming right away.”
“If you want Duncan, I won’t fight you for him. He’s just trash anyway.”
Christine pressed her lips into a hard line, and her eyes narrowed with an innate sense of aloofness and indifference. “You don’t have to scheme against me.”
“Sis, Duncan chose me because I’m prettier, hotter, and better than you in every way. But since you are his fiancée, if I were to simply steal him away, people would accuse me of betraying you. So, I had to find a way to make others believe that it was you who betrayed Duncan Blanche explained with a smirk.
Christine furrowed her brow, shouting in anger. “Blanche, have you lost your conscience? I’m your
sister!“.

A hint of cunning flashed in Blanche’s eyes, and she chuckled wickedly. “My dear sister, have you forgotten? We don’t share the same mother. You can’t outsmart me, just like your mother couldn’t outsmart mine.
At that moment, Christine finally understood that Blanche, though seemingly obedient and docile, had been pretending all along Christine had initially been reluctant to pay attention to Blanche. Still, Blanche constantly put on a pitiful and innocent facade, always trying to please Christine and even apologizing on behalf of her mother.
Everything had been a facade.
Christine realized that Blanche was a heartless manipulator.
Slap!
Christine slapped Blanche across the face.
You have no right to mention my mother.”
Christine’s eyes were filled with chilling intensity, her voice deep and laden with a strong sense of murderous intent.
Blanche, despite being slapped, did not seem upset. Instead, she wore a look of enjoyment and said, “I doubled the dosage, yet you still have the strength to hit me. Well, perhaps it’s for the best. If you lie motionless in bed, unresponsive, it won’t please Mr. Erickson.”
Christine approached, wanting to strangle Blanche, but she was pushed to the ground by Blanche.
“Thinking of strangling me? Hmph, this drug could knock down an elephant. Don’t waste your energy. Enjoy the scent of an old man. Haha.”
Christine furrowed her brow. She wanted to escape, but the effects of the drug became even more overpowering.
Her world spun in an instant, and she collapsed to the ground, her vision increasingly blurry.
In the haze, she sensed Blanche leaving, and the lights went out.
All that remained was endless darkness, accompanied by her labored gasps.
Suddenly, the door burst open.
A shadowy figure barged in, and her gasps, filled with fear, only intensified.
Little did she know how tempting her gasps were to the man who had suddenly appeared.
He pounced on her without hesitation, enveloping her with a surge of man’s scent.
She felt an unprecedented sense of oppression. She lowered her eyelashes, a wave of panic surging within her, instinctively struggling desperately.
The man’s cold fingers gripped her chin, forcefully lifting her face to meet his gaze. In the dimly lit room, Christine’s blurred vision caught a pair of mesmerizing eyes that could captivate anyone for eternity. They were eyes filled with allure as if from a dreamy tale.
She suddenly noticed that this man did not seem to be an old man.
Under the overwhelming power differential, Christine’s clothes were removed, exposing her delicate shoulders to the seductive air, allowing the man to feast upon her beauty.
The next day, sunlight streamed through the window, and Christine finally regained consciousness. The man was nowhere to be seen, leaving only a gold pendant in her hand, engraved with a wolf’s head. And there was a vivid red stain on the bedsheets, glaringly obvious.
Christine involuntarily tightened her grip on the wolf–head gold pendant. Those eyes last night did not seem to belong to an old man.
She tried hard to recall the details of the previous night but was interrupted by an urgent knocking on the door.
In a fluster, she quickly got dressed, slipping the pendant into her pocket. Opening the door, she was greeted by two police officers in uniforms with serious expressions.
“Are you Christine Paul?”
“Yes,” she replied.
1The police officers presented their badges and spoke sternly, “Hanley Erickson from the Erickson Group suffered a heart
attack on his way home this morning and passed away despite resuscitation efforts. We received a report Mr. Erickson last night, allegedly coaxing him into consuming a large quantity of enhancing drugs. We need you to come with us to assist in the investigation.”

Christine could not believe that the man she was with last night was truly that old man called Hanley. She started to wonder if the effects of the drugs were so potent that she was seeing things last night.
Christine tried to stay calm.
And now, to make matters worse, the old man was dead.
Christine’s brows furrowed tightly.
Blanche had gone to great lengths to scheme against her last night, and now she had even reported the incident to the police. Blanche’s cruelty had surpassed Christine’s imagination,
