Chapter 17: Gave birth to twins
“Rose..” Zordan was about to run after her to calm her down but not before giving the answer to the question that Ethlyn asked Roselet in a sarcastic way. “I won't ask you whether your mother taught you to sleep with another man when you already had a mate like a slut...
“Zordan!!” Reva gasped.
“I'm sorry, mate. I didn't want to say anything to her, but she crossed her limit by saying something to Rose, and I don't prioritize my new relationship, leaving the old one.” He said and looked at Ethlyn, “And yes, the answer to your question is that no, her mother didn't teach her anything because she was never there for her.” Saying this, he left from there.
Reva looked between her sister and her mate.
“You should follow him,” Ethlyn said and started leaving when Reva grabbed her wrist.
“I know, my sister. She can never be so rude with a pup. Then why did you treat Rose like this, Ethlyn? You, too, know that you shouldn't have called Rose a thief still; you did. Why?" Reva asked, but Ethlyn pulled her hand away from her grip and left from there.
“What the fuck!!” Reva muttered and started leaving from there as well to follow Zordan.
"Stay here. I will bring them and will apologize on behalf of Ethlyn.” Christian said, stopping Reva "Okay, dad.” Reva nodded her head and looked at her mother, who was quiet the whole time; once Christian left, Reva expected her to speak, but she didnt. “Don’t you want to say anything? Ethlyn has been changed from the day she woke up. Someone said it right that pain changes people. It makes them trust less, overthink more, and shut people out. She is not able to accept the fact that her pups are no more.”
“She will be fine soon,” Abigail muttered.
“I haven't become a mother, so I don't know about it but if you are saying so, then... let's see.” “We're leaving,” Zordan said, entering the guest house, carrying a really sad Roselet.
"Why? What happened?” Lemieux asked, looking at the sad face of Roselet. “We were going to leave from the pack tomorrow, weren't we?
"Rose wanted to meet her mother and she met her. I don't think there is any need to stay a day longer here.” Zordan said. “Let's pack her bag.” He ordered him to pack just her bag because no one of them had brought a lot of things like her.
"Zordy, I want to stay out,” Roselet muttered, not denying his plan to leave.
"Okay!!” he agreed and put her down, giving the nod to Lemieux. Roselet had barely left when Christian reached there to talk with them.
“I want to talk with you, Zordan,” Christian said, on which he just glared at him.
“Damian, go and pack Rose's belongings. Make sure that we don't leave any single clips of her.” Zordan said and looked at Asher and Astin. “And you both, go and inform the Alpha that we are leaving today itself.”
"Zordan, I apologize on behalf of Ethlyn. She shouldn't have talked like that with Rose.” Christian
said. “Please don't take Rose from here just after this incident, or she will always have bitter
memories in her mind related to her,” Christian said, to which Zordan ignored him. Asher and Austin
left from there to inform Nathan, just like Zordan ordered. “Zordan, please ask them to stop. I
request you.” Christian said again.
“I'm neither going to stop them nor going to stay an hour more here,” Zordan said in determination. He wouldn't let Roselet stay anywhere where someone would misbehave with her or make her cry.
“I wouldn't have asked you to say after the words you used for Ethlyn either, but I know you didn't want to say those things. In the same way, my Ethlyn didn't behave normally and had not behaved like herself from the time she woke up from the coma, and she has been told that her pup is not alive.”
"What?" Zordan looked at him in surprise.
“Yes!! That's what she thinks about her pup. That's why she is kind of going through a difficult phase, trying to handle this news.” Christian muttered, feeling ashamed
"And she believed this lie? Didn't she smell your lies?” Zordan asked, unable to believe this. “Actually, she didn't. Because... because she gave birth to twins.” Saying this, Christian told him everything. Everything that he knew, everything that happened with Ethlyn until now.
"People don't need any enemies in their life if they are blessed with parents like you both,” Zordan said, shaking his head. He was thinking that Ethlyn was characterless, just like Calvin told about her, and a part of his human was doubting Reva after all; she was Ethlyn’s sister, but now, listening to Ethlyn's side of the story, he felt pity for her and sorry as well that he said all those meaningless things to her in anger.
“I don't regret Rose keeping away from us because I know that she has been raised with a lot of love in these past years. Love that she couldn't have received among this pack members and my mate. But... But I'm thinking of telling the truth about her pups soon. It's just that I'm not able to gather the courage to tell her the truth because I know the moment she will get to know what I did with her daughter. I'm going to lose my daughter forever.”
Hearing Christian's heavy voice, Zordan felt bad for him. Maybe what he did with Rose came out to be the best for her, but what if Calvin wouldn't have accepted her or, like a cruel Alpha, would have treated his daughter like a slave, or there was a lot of chance that could have happened?
“We won't leave today, and I will try that Rose won't leave from here with a bad image of her mommy,” Zordan said.
“Thank you so much, Zordan.”
"By the way, do you have any idea how Ethlyn landed in Calvin's room that night?” Zordan asked, trying to solve the mystery of that night.
“No. Even though Ethlyn went into Alpha’s room on her own. Why did he... I mean, why did he take advantage of Ethlyn when she wasn't in her senses?” Christian asked, not sure that Zordan would have the answer to this question, but then again, Beta stayed with his Alpha almost all the time, so there could be a chance that he might know something about it.
"She wasn't in her senses? Even Calvin wasn't in his sense that night. Also, he was supposed to spend the night with someone else. He realized that the woman swapped the next day, so without checking her face, he left thinking that woman would be someone who sleeps with everyone. And he has the same thinking about Ethlyn.”
Christian's jaw clenched, hearing it, but he asked something else, “So, he never asked the other woman with whom he was going to spend that night where she was that night? And why did she inform him before disappearing or anything like that?”
“No. Calvin didn't get a chance to meet her again. And she wasn't that important to him either.” Zordan responded.
“But is it possible that Ethlyn reached Calvin's room because of that woman? Maybe Calvin didn't know that woman, but somehow Ethlyn knows her? Or she knows Ethlyn, and that's why she laid that trap on Ethlyn.” Christian tried to think about all the possibilities.
But at the same time, he too realized that only Calvin could tell what that other woman looked like and the chances of helping those people who left his daughter, and because of this, he spent years in search of his daughter's mommy as they had wiped all the evidence that could have led Calvin to Ethlyn.
On the other side,
Roselet wanted to spend some time alone, which was why Lemieux shifted and took her to the area where she pointed with her tiny finger. From afar, Roselet saw a lot of little stones, but when they reached there, she realized that it was a cemetery. Lemieux already knew that it was a cemetery, not a place of white stone, because of his superhuman eyesight.
“This is a graveyard, Lemi,” Roselet said, still sitting on his back and looking around. “We should go from here. I don't want to disturb the sleep of the people resting here.” She added.
But Lemieux didn't leave from there immediately because he sensed someone else's presence there, so instead of leaving from there, he walked slowly, following the scent.
“That's her,” Roselet said, looking at Ethlyn, who was sitting near her son's grave, holding it near her chest. By looking at her, it looked like that she had no idea of anything around her. Roselet waited for a while to get noticed by her mother, but it didn’t happen. But she did realize that Ethlyn was crying because she was bringing her hand near her face to wipe the tears.
“Lemi, crouch, please,” Roselet said and then jumped from his back. She walked toward Ethlyn, hoping she would not shout at her again.
Cinder was mad at Ethlyn for talking like that with Roselet; that was why she blocked her human. She couldn't behave that her human believed rudely with a pup just because she was getting attracted to her. But that wasn't in Cinder’s control.
Just like a mate bond, she could feel connected to Roselet. Also, when Roselet called her “Mommy,’ she felt that Roselet said that to her after looking at her, not because Roselet was scared. Her human's word was that she was getting desperate because they recently came to know about the loss of their pup.
“Mommy?” Ethlyn heard out of nowhere and looked at the source of the voice, lifting her head. She found Roselet looking at her in concern.
