The rebirth of a new Luna by Alexia Morgan

Chapter 33

Chapter 37

Vance cleared his throat. He coughed even when he lifted his face to look at the eager Nadia who was waiting for him to talk. Something was definitely wrong somewhere, he could tell. The old Iris would never agree to have this conversation and when she did, she would not be this smiley about it. He faked a smile as he looked at Iris who was seated before him. Did she hit her head on a rock while she went away? It must have really affected her for her to be a completely different person now. He liked it though.

“I think I want to hear everything you’re suppose to tell me. Don’t hesitate. Tell me everything. I’m waiting, and I promise, I won’t get upset. Be free he watched as Nadia’s l*ps moved. She said she would not be upset. This was definitely a new Iris. The old Iris would have started a war while they sat together and talked about this. He felt blessed. that she didn’t anything from that night.

“She started pouring out more and more to me. It looked like she needed someone to talk to and so, I listened patiently as I placed my hand on her back. I tried to comfort her for that night being. At some point, I think she even puked. She puked for a while and kept still trying to tell me what was pissing her off.” He said as interlocked his fingers. Nadia observed carefully. She could tell when people where lying, it was her gift

which could not use on her friend, Lyra and it seemed he wasn’t.

She cupped her chin in both hands as she gave him a raised eyebrow. It was annoying the way he always cut the story at the interesting parts.

“Continue. Stop cutting the story short when it gets to the part that is amusing” she said with a pretending frown. He coughed and cleared his throat again as he nodded, “After she had finished puking, I imagined she needed a shoulder to cry. I mean, I had to do something to help her feel relieved atleast, right? That was the right thing to do at that moment to me” he said so innocently. Maybe it was but it wasn’t wise.

“I stood

up

and told her to come in for a hug, which she did. She melted in my arms as she hugged me. I could feel her shivering as I hugged her. She looked like she needed a real friend and so I let her hug me for longer. At a point, I bent over to place my chin on her head. You know, the way friends do. To me, it had no meaning whatsoever. She was a young child who could pass on as my sister and my beta wolf was

like my

brother so I decided to fulfill that role temporarily. Nothing was attached” he said.

“I had hugged her for a while and soon asked her go home. When I released her from my embrace, I turned my face and saw you there. You were leaning on a tree staring at me. I immediately left her and ran to you as I wanted to explain to you what was happening but before I got to you, I saw you turn and leave me. I followed you, calling out your name but you never answered. You didn’t even turn, not even for a second. You acted like you were deaf but I didn’t stop, I followed you untill we got home.” He said with tears now building up in his eyes. Was he crying over that? Wow. Vance was really becoming emotional these days or was he always this way?

Chapter 37

Nadia shook her head. She had to get used to this. She was used to a man like Lucian who never showed emotions. She blinked severally and then returned her gaze to him.

“So. What did I do next?” She asked not wanting him to stop.

“You came into the house, without a word and started to pack your things. Before I could say anything to calm you down, you had already gotten everything outside. You didn’t even give me a chance to explain. I watched as you dragged your bag outside. I tried struggling them with you as 1 begged you to listen to me first but your mind was already fixed on it. You didn’t stop. Nothing I said made sense to you as I rolled on the floor, crying and begging. It all fell on deaf ears with you”

“Finally, you opened your mouth to talk and then said, I quote, get out of my sight. I need time to rest from all this. Those were your exact words, if I can remember correctly.

so angry and devasted that I decided I wasn’t going to go after you anymore. 1

You asked for time to rest from me. 7 shifted as I watched you walk

out the door and out of my life. It was never my intention please, believe me Vance said as he suddenly went on his knees. Nadia was confused. Why the sudden outburst?

“It’s alright. You can get up. Just get up and keep on talking” she said nicely. Vance rose as he took his seat to continue the story. “I didn’t know. I promise you, I didn’t.” He repeated severally,

“You didn’t know what exactly?” Nadia grew inquisitive. Was there more to say?

Her eyes widened at the thought of it.

“I didn’t know you were pregnant as a week later, I saw selene here at my door, she had come to tell me you were pregnant. She said you had been at her place since you left my house. She told me that you were already pregnant when you left the house that night” he said again with tears in his eyes.

“Maybe you had come to tell me about your pregnancy that night in the woods and you caught me hugging another woman deeply. It must have been very hurtful for you and I am deeply sorry. Please forgive me” he prostrated on the floor as he held her ankle. His wailing and screaming growing louder immediately.

“Stand up.

That’s not all” Someone said from the door.
