Chapter 167
Blair POV
I thought I was prepared for what I might see, but nothing could have prepared me for the stench of the dungeon or the utter horror as I took in the sight of old blood splatters on the walls and floor. I stared at Stella who was restrained with her arms above her head, cuffs encircling her wrists, and then placed onto a bolt from the ceiling, causing her arms to be suspended. It looked painful, but she was unconcerned, her eyes wild and a smirk on her face. Either she thought that we would be merciful or she was unconcerned her death would be painful. I felt sickened, but Sierra was unfazed. My mate was angry and he wasted no time in opening the cell door and motioning to the guards to pull Stella down. She staggered slightly and I knew that she had been pumped full of wolfsbane to prevent her from shifting into her wolf form. "Hold her against the wall" Braedon instructed grimly.
They held her, by the arms, turning her so that she faced the wall and one of the guards ripped her shirt, exposing her bare back. I inhaled sharply, but Sierra merely gazed at the t*****e implements on a trolley nearby, as Braedon grabbed it and shoved it over, beginning to put gloves on so he wouldn't be burnt.
"Blair, perhaps you should leave" Braedon instructed me as I stood there, "this isn't going to be pretty sweetheart."
"What a coward" Stella sneered, looking over her shoulder, her eyes gleaming "Can't you stomach another person being tortured Blair?" she mocked. Please visit Job nib.com and search the book title to read the entire book for free. I met her eyes and felt rage consume me. She was being so nonchalant about all this and before I could stop myself I found myself striding forward, punching her in the face as she blinked at me, her nose breaking with a large cracking sound and blood pouring down her nose. "Why did you poison me?" I snarled "Who gave you the orders? Julia or someone else?"
She giggled. "Oh you stupid girl, you still haven't put the pieces together, have you."
I clenched my fists and let out a roar, causing the guards to jump, Stella turned to face me, her wrists still restrained as the guards let go unintentionally.
"Speak" I ordered, my alpha tone coming out, my aura pushing as hard as I could as she panted, trying to resist it.
I gave a smile "Did you forget I was an Alpha wolf, Stella? You can fight against the Alpha tone, but your wolf is far weaker than mine and you're no match for it. Braedon would rather t*****e you, but I'm impatient." "Screw you" she gasped.
"Wrong answer" I growled, grabbing her hair and yanking her head back, before slamming it into the nearby wall.
She gave a low cry of pain. I used my tone again. "Who gave you the orders?"
"Luna Bianca" she whispered, sinking to her knees.
I raised an eyebrow, unsurprised. "Was it in retaliation to what happened to Brynn that night at the summit?" I demanded, grabbing her wrists and twisting her arms in an unnatural position, while Braedon wordlessly stared and Sierra watched, looking slightly disappointed. Sierra glared. I pushed even more of my aura out and she groaned. "Yes," she snapped "she was pissed about you humiliating Brynn like that. So she took her revenge."
"Did Luna Bianca send you here?" I demanded and Sierra glanced away, biting hard on her lip, blood welling to the surface, her mouth twisting as she was forced to answer.
"Yes."
I let go and stepped back, breathing heavily. My eyes met Braedon's "I thought it was her" I said tightly "It all makes sense. This b***h can die now" I added bitterly "but something has to be done about Luna Bianca's involvement as well."
Braedon stepped forward, a whip in his hands. He nodded to the guards. "Do you know who is trafficking the rogues and omega women? Who is behind all the packs who are disobeying my laws in abolishing the breeding program?" he asked icily and I could have kicked myself for not thinking to ask such a question.
This time Stella looked confused. Her answer was swift and dripping with honesty. "No," she said bewildered "I have no knowledge of who is in charge."
At the time that answer didn't seem too suspicious. It never occurred to either of us that she had managed to dodge the question by using such a vague answer. Braedon waited as the guards put her back in position again, before letting loose with the whip, Stella's back arching as she let out a little hiss.
"Not so tough are you Stella" Sierra said rudely as Stella turned her head, blood still pouring from her nose and lip.
"You'll be the first to die when I get free" Stella breathed.
Sierra laughed and flipped her off "j***t. You're not getting free, this is where you die," she told the girl, rolling her eyes. I stepped back. Braedon's muscles bulged as he raised and brought the whip down again and again, the whip leaving marks against the creamy smoothness of Stella's back until that too was bleeding and shredded. I winced. Braedon stepped back. Stella hadn't made a sound except for the occasional hiss or small cry. She didn't sob, she didn't plead for mercy. She was a pillar of strength and I wondered what brought on such loyalty. She stared steadfastly at the wall, as Braedon clenched his jaw, staring at the other implements.
"Didn't take her long to sing like a canary" Sierra muttered next to me, looking irritable "She took the fun right out of it."
I stared at her incredulously. Sierra had a sadistic streak in her, I thought with a sidelong glance at her, I wouldn't like to get on her bad side.
The guards looked like they were used to this and it occurred to me that they probably were, considering the blood on the walls and floor. This was the norm for them. I breathed in and out, feeling sick, the walls beginning to feel like they were closing in on me. I could feel my chest tightening and I fought to keep myself upright, as my body began to feel heated.
