The Rebellious Omega

Chapter 165

King Braedon POV

"Who are they" Blair said, looking off into the distance, her arms folded across her chest, her breath catching slightly, her gaze blank and far away.

I sighed and leaned against the doorway, knowing exactly what she was asking. The hurt on her face pained me. I cleared my throat and looked directly at her even though she stared away from me. If I could avoid telling her for longer I would but no matter how badly I wanted to shield her from this pain, the moment had come and I couldn't protect her any longer, all I could do was be here for her. "We have reason to believe, provided Julia wasn't lying," I said with gritted teeth "that your parents are Luna Bianca and Alpha Johnathon."

A sharp intake of breath from Blair, before her eyes filled with tears. Anger, denial, rage, all emotions that took over the expressions on her face as she slowly turned towards me, before she looked at me in a state of disbelief. "No," she said, shaking her head and stating it firmly, not wanting to believe me "no, they couldn't be. It's not possible Braedon, it just isn't."

"Blair," I said quietly, wishing I could move closer, but her body language was tense and her body was stiff as she held up a hand, indicating she didn't want to be touched at that moment "I know that it's hard to believe but..."

She let out a bitter laugh "hard to believe" she said shrilly "try impossible. I grew up with Luna Bianca despising my very existence. I was put in that orphanage Braedon, forced to live in miserable conditions while the Alpha visited on occasion without so much as looking at me and you want me to believe he's my father?" she gave another scoff "Julia was lying." My heart ached for her. I took one step closer as she stared at me stony-faced. "Blair" I murmured "I don't think Julia was lying. Your heart condition, it scared them and they chose to abandon you rather than..." "Kill me" she supplied dully, "that's what you were going to say, wasn't it? My own parents wanted to kill me."

I winced. "All these years, I've been trying to imagine who my parents might have been," she said quietly, "why they left me in the forest and it turns out they were the Alpha and Luna of the pack that I grew up bullied and tortured in. I didn't have to look far at all" her voice broke slightly. I moved a little closer, and put my arms around her, as she let me embrace her, her expression forlorn. "Brynn is your twin sister" I confessed and her head raised, her eyes blazing, even as a look of resignation came across her face. She gave a snort.

"Figures that b***h is" she muttered "the golden child of the Alpha and Luna and my worst tormentor. Why did the moon goddess grant me such a horrible family" She gave a sob and my heart broke.

"You wouldn't be here now if it wasn't for them." I reminded her "And you have us as your family now."

"How can a mother or father hate their own child so much that they are willing to beat them or t*****e them like that? They laid their hands on me, knowing who I was" Blair said incredulously "and it didn't bother them in the slightest, although" she said a little thoughtfully "my father was a little soft considering and I knew that made Luna Bianca angry. Maybe he didn't like hurting me as much as she did."

She was grasping for anything positive. I stroked her hair "Maybe" I allowed "but there's no excuse for what he did. He could have informed you of who he was. Instead, he allowed you to grow up as an omega, and your wolf was weakened by their actions instead of strengthened." She held onto me as though I was her lifeline. "I'm not going to forgive them for what they've done," she said, sounding heartbroken "But what do we do now? This complicates things doesn't it?" she added.

"Well legally, you're just as entitled to Dark Rising Pack as Brynn is" I pointed out, pulling back and examining her face closely "Would you be interested in fighting Brynn for that right?"

She bit her lip "I wouldn't be able to run it though" she said "The pack would have to be dispersed and brought back here and acclimated to this pack."

"It could be done, love. You've spent a lifetime watching Brynn being given things that you were just as entitled to. I happen to know she's running that pack but I know little else about what's happening over there. You can make any decision you want, I don't want to pressure you, but I want you to know that you have my support whatever decision you make" I said gently.

She smiled, but it was empty of its usual warmth and her eyes were troubled. "Do you think Brynn knows that we are sisters?" she asked suddenly "Would that explain why she treats me the way she does?"

I hesitated. I had my suspicions that Brynn had also been left in the dark and I chose to voice them carefully "I believe that your mother and father wouldn't have divulged anything to your sister, in case she let it slip. I believe that Brynn is in the dark as much as you are."

"So her personality is just rotten then" Blair concluded "and her attitude towards me had nothing to do with who I was but her general dislike of me."

Silence. I held her tighter. She breathed in deeply. "I'm sorry" I whispered "I wanted to spare you from this pain as much as possible."

She gave me a shaky smile "Braedon it's not your job to hide things from me because they might bring me pain. I'm a big girl I can handle it. All I want from you is your support and your love. I appreciate your concern, but please, from now on, don't keep any more secrets from me." "I'm sorry" I apologized again and she just shook her head at me.

"What exactly is the punishment for what my parents have done?" she asked suddenly out of nowhere.
