Chapter 901-920
Chapter 901
“Later, you’re going to need to escort them to the airport. As for the old man they
mentioned, I’ll need to get in touch with him. This might warrant a trip on my
part, so just cool your jets, Clark. It’s not like half a day is going to make a
difference.”
But Clark was itching to find Carol.
However, remembering the danger of the Triangular Zone, Clark said, “I’ll fly
there myself tonight. Tomorrow, I’ll meet up with Romeo directly, and you should
stay out of it. The Triangular Zone is lawless, and I don’t want you to get hurt.”

“You sure I’m the one in danger here?” Arabella couldn’t help but smile. “Alright,
I’ll call the old man. You go and comfort the couple. They need someone to talk
to.”
Arabella called the old man several times without success and decided to go
there herself.
Sending the money over with her crew didn’t seem respectful. She checked the
address – it was a mere 20-minute drive. Personally delivering the money would
also get this weight off Taylor’s shoulders.
On the way, as Jerry was driving, Arabella saw someone by the road asking for
help.
A city bus had collided with a luxury car. The young woman from the car, no
more than in her early twenties, was standing by the road shouting for help.
She was asking if any passing car could help transport the old woman in her car
to the hospital. The collision had triggered her heart disease, and she was short
of breath. Their car had broken down and couldn’t start.
Bypassers only suggested she call the ambulance. Some stopped to watch, but
no one actually stepped forward to help.
Traffic was slow due to the accident.
The girl was so desperate that she was almost in tears. If necessary, she
planned to take turns with the driver to carry the woman to the hospital.
Seeing that the girl was a Solterran, Arabella asked Jerry to stop the car and
went to see what was going on.
“Do you need help?”
At her words, the young woman got excited and hurriedly asked, “Are you a
doctor? Can you help? My old lady was going for a medical check-up, and we
were rear-ended by that city bus. She can’t move and says she’s having trouble
breathing. We’re scared”
Arabella went to the car and saw the old lady sitting in the back seat, her face
red from lack of oxygen.
“Open the car doors, windows, and sunroof to let in fresh air.”
After saying this, Arabella took out an acupuncture kit from her bag and quickly
began inserting needles into the old woman.
The driver was anxious and asked the young woman, “You’re letting her use
acupuncture on the old lady? What if something goes wrong?”
Arabella heard their conversation and calmly said, “There’s no time to get her to
a hospital now. She’ll be out of breath in less than three minutes. Don’t worry, I
know what I’m doing.”
The young woman, being a Solterran herself and seeing Arabella’s calm
demeanor, believed her. She even defended Arabella to the driver, saying, “Let
her try. She carries an acupuncture kit with her, so she must know medicine.”
Who would carry an acupuncture kit around unless they were a doctor?
Especially few in the country would be proficient in the mysterious oriental
medicine, She trusted Solterran traditional medicine.
After a while, the old lady gradually began to breathe, and her eyes started to
open slightly. Due to lack of oxygen, she felt dizzy and had a headache. In her
daze, she saw a beautiful girl treating her, who oddly resembled her daughter.
She must be hallucinating.
After finishing the acupuncture, Arabella said, “This old lady is very weak. She
needs to take more care in her daily life. Moreover, Crestor is not helping her
current condition. Also, Gilenya and Anluo tablets are suggested to be replaced
by other medicines. Otherwise they will increase her physical burden, making
her feel tired and drowsy every day, and have chest tightness and bitter taste in
her mouth.”
The young woman with short hair was stunned. She didn’t expect Arabella to
describe the old lady’s symptoms accurately. Chapter 902
Moreover, the medicine that the elderly lady ingested included the three types
she mentioned.
How on earth did the girl know about them? And how did she pinpoint them?
It was mind-boggling!
The driver was also wide-eyed, although he didn’t usually assist the elderly lady
with her medication. But hearing the girl talk so authoritatively, he couldn’t help
but feel impressed.
She knew even this.

“Uhm, are you perhaps a medical professional? If these three drugs are not
used, what other alternatives are there?” The short-haired woman latched onto
her, bombarding her with questions, “Could you possibly leave us your contact
information? If you can help our lady with her illness, our master will surely
reward you handsomely.”
“The lady’s health can’t be restored in a day or two.”
When Arabella had taken the old lady’s pulse earlier, she had discovered many
issues. If they were to treat her, they would need to constantly adjust her
prescription and even monitor the old lady’s reaction to the medication, which
could be time-consuming.
“Miss, it’s time to get in the car.”
At this point, Jerry saw that Arabella had been delayed for too long and couldn’t
help but remind her.
With the constant flow of cars, if someone with ill intentions were to spot her,
Ms. Bella would be trailed by unshakable trouble.
“Could you leave us your contact information?” The short-haired woman was
somewhat reluctant to part with the beautiful young girl who appeared to be in
her teens and yet had such a deep understanding of medicine.
But Arabella thought that if a villain spotted this scene, and they couldn’t find
her, they would surely trace their way to the old lady’s family. She didn’t want to
implicate the innocent.
To avoid causing them trouble, Arabella gently declined, “Anyone with a basic
understanding of medicine could solve this problem.”
She wasn’t lying.
Although the old lady’s condition required time and energy, it wasn’t difficult to
manage. It could even be said that it was much easier than treating Grandma
Shirley’s illness.
The short-haired woman watched her get in the car, seeing their vehicle
disappear into the distance, only then realizing she hadn’t thanked the girl.
“That girl’s got a stunning look and aura.” The driver, watching the direction
Arabella had left in, couldn’t help but praise, “Young, beautiful, and proficient in
medicine, that’s a first for me.”
“Stop staring, and she’s got a chauffeur. She must be a young lady from a welloff family.” The short-haired woman added, “Such a pity, I forgot to thank her.
Let’s get the lady to the hospital first.”
They’d noticed the girl’s license plate was local. If their master wanted to find
her, it should be a piece of cake.
Inside the car.
As Jerry drove, he glanced at the girl in the rearview mirror, “Ms. Bella.”
“There’s no need to report this, and it’s a trivial matter.” Arabella seemed to
know what he was going to say and immediately provided an answer.
Jerry was taken aback, not expecting Ms. Bella to have prophetic abilities.
“I’ll handle it”
Jerry secretly heaved a sigh of relief. With Ms. Bella’s words, he could breathe
easier.
The car soon arrived in front of a mansion on the outskirts.
The mansion seemed to carry a sense of age, exuding a faint historical and
nostalgic ambiance.
Surrounding it were similarly old mansions. At a glance, there seemed to be
twenty or thirty standing proudly in this area.Chapter 903
Every mansion had five or six steps leading straight up, a design style that
harked back to days of old.
“Just wait for me in the car.”
Arabella stepped out of the vehicle, ascended the steps, and rang the doorbell.
After a moment, with no response, Arabella rang the bell twice more, thinking
that the old man probably wasn’t home.
She noticed a gap under the front door and thought of writing a letter and
slipping the money through the gap.
Enter title…
Just as she was about to get paper and pen, an elderly man appeared, shuffling
up the stairs. One hand held onto the railing for support, while the other carried
groceries from the supermarket. He squinted at the young woman standing in
front of his house.
Hearing the noise, Arabella turned around, “Excuse me, are you Grandpa
Arno?”
At the sound of his native language, Arno dropped his guard and asked warmly,
“Which family are you from?
Why are you standing at my doorstep?”
“Professor Earwood sent me, Arabella offered, seeing him struggling with the
heavy groceries and moving to help. “May I carry that for you?”
“Logan sent you?” Arno clung onto his grocery bags, “No, no, you’re a young
lady, you can’t carry this.”
Arabella’s hand brushed against his, and she pulled back, taking a moment to
look at the elderly man in front of her.
He seemed to be in his seventies, with a head full of white hair and a hunched
back. It appeared as if the few steps had drained all his energy.
But something about him struck Arabella as odd.
“Let’s, let’s talk inside.” The old man was panting slightly, leading the way inside
with his grocery bags.
Arabella followed him in, closing the door behind her.
“No need to take off your shoes, you’ll laugh, but I haven’t swept the floor in
days.” The old man laughed heartily, “Make yourself comfortable. I’ll put the
groceries away. You’re Logan’s daughter, right?”
“No, I’m not.” Arabella took control of the conversation, asking casually, “I heard
you live alone?”
“Only this old geezer left. My son and daughter-in-law live far away. Logan is
such a good tutor, and I found him through my son, you know. Logan must’ve
told you that my grandkids only speak foreign language, and I can’t
communicate with them.”
Arabella smiled slightly, “It’s quite good for your age.”
Arno put the groceries away, washed his hands, and poured a glass of water for
Arabella.
“I don’t have much to offer, but you can have some water.” His movements were
slow and clumsy. After placing the glass on the coffee table in front of Arabella,
he sat down and asked, “Logan sent you because?”
“He and his wife have to leave unexpectedly and can’t tutor you anymore.”
Arabella took out the note written by Taylor and the remaining money from her
bag, “They wanted to apologize personally, but they couldn’t make it. They tried
calling you, but you didn’t pick up, so they asked me to come.
This is the remaining tuition fee, Mr. and Mrs. Earwood insisted that I hand it to
you.”
“They’re leaving?” Arno’s eyes showed a hint of sadness. Seeing Arabella place
the money on the table, he waved his hand and said, “Tell them there’s no need.
It’s not much. They should keep it for their journey. I’m glad to have known
them.”
Perhaps the thought of being alone again saddened the old man.
Arabella replied calmly, “I’m sure you’ll find an even better tutor.”
“Thank you for your comfort.”
Arabella picked up the glass and looked around the house, “You keep your
home very clean.”
“It’s okay, hahaha. I used to farm for decades. My son finally made it, and I
followed him abroad, but I just can’t sit idle. The flowers and plants outside are
all grown by me.”Chapter 904
At first glance, Arabella was taken aback by the profusion of flowers and plants
outside. It was nothing short of a charming little garden.
“I feel terrible for making you travel all this way. Would you like some water? Oh,
I also bought some bagels from the supermarket. Let me get them for you.” The
elderly man rose shakily.
“No need to trouble yourself.“ Arabella picked up the glass and immediately
detected the faint scent of chamomile.
She looked up at the man’s retreating figure, bending down to retrieve the
bagels from the bag, a task that seemed to require some effort. “I buy these

bagels often. They have a decent taste.”
He shuffled back towards Arabella, extending the bagels towards her with a
warm smile. “Try them.”
Ignoring the water, Arabella set down the glass and responded with a smile,
“Chamomile and opium poppy, is this how you typically welcome guests,
Grandpa Arno?”
The old man was surprised that she had identified the scents. Moreover, the
woman’s clear and bright eyes showed no fear of her current situation, a
testament to her strong psychological quality.
“What are you talking about?” Arno feigned ignorance.
“Besides these two, you also have incense burning.”
“Hahahaha.” The elderly man put down the bagels, laughing heartily. “When did
you notice?”
“At the door,’ Arabella replied calmly. “You mentioned that you’ve been
gardening for decades and often do household chores, yet your hands don’t
seem like they’ve seen much work.”
So, Arabella hadn’t offered to help him with his groceries and deliberately
followed him inside the house, curious to see his next move.
“When you entered the house and put down your things, you acted tired and
leaned on the side table. At which point you switched on the incense burner?”
The elderly man seemed even more intrigued. “And then?”
“And then, when you went to pour the water, you first fetched an empty glass,
filled it with water, and dawdled before coming out. By then, you had already
spiked the drink, right?”
The old man’s smile grew even more benevolent. “Since you knew something
was off, why did you dare to enter alone? You’re quite bold.”
“If I didn’t come in, wouldn’t I have missed the show?”
“Hahaha. You’re a remarkable young lady. Why not join me? I could use an
apprentice like you.”
“So, what do you do for a living?”
“With your intelligence, you must have some idea?” The old man suddenly
made a move, swiftly and not at all like a man in his seventies.
Arabella retaliated, and a fight broke out in the living room.
After a few exchanges, the old man asked, “What is your relationship with the
leader of the Triangular Zone’s Mafia Flame?”
He looked at her warily and suspiciously.
Arabella raised an eyebrow, “You know him?”
“Answer my question first.’ The old man scrutinized the woman in front of him.
Aside from her long hair, which he hadn’t seen before, her physique, posture,
and even her moves were strikingly similar to the Mafia Flame’s leader…
But wasn’t the Mafia Flame’s leader a man?
Could this young woman be his lover?
Or perhaps his direct disciple?
But the Mafia Flame leader’s moves weren’t that easy to learn!
Who was this young woman exactly?
Did the Mafia Flame send her to meddle in his affairs?Chapter 905
“What’s the deal between Mafia Flame and Carol?” the old man pressed on, “Is
Carol with Mafia Flame now?”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.” Arabella quickly retorted.
She racked her brain but couldn’t place who this old man could possibly be. She
hadn’t crossed paths with anyone this aged before, so how could he have
guessed her connection with the head of Mafia Flame?
“No matter who you are, you’re coming with me today.”
Enter title…
He had to bring this young miss back to his superiors. She was suspiciously
skilled, her moves eerily similar to the Mafia Flame’s boss, and she remained
calm under pressure. Clearly, she had been specially trained!
If she was indeed sent by Mafia Flame to meddle in their affairs, then it was
perfect timing to strike back at Mafia Flame!
It was time to settle old scores!
Arno unleashed his fiercest moves against the young miss but found her to be
an excellent fighter with quick reflexes. The fragrance of the narcotic in the air
seerned to have no effect on her!
“Who the hell are you?” Arno was beginning to feel outmatched. Arabella had
the upper hand with every move, and he felt more and more powerless to turn
the tide.
This girl was too formidable.
Arabella planned to take him down with a few swift moves but was caught off
guard when Arno hit a switch, causing the ceiling to drop a dozen iron balls,
each about the size of a burger. If they landed on her head, she’d be a goner.
After effortlessly dodging the iron balls, she found the old man had triggered
another switch and escaped through a hidden passage in the wall.
To avoid being led on a wild goose chase, Arabella decided not to pursue him.
She pulled out her phone and called Clark.
“Clark, I’ve met this Grandpa Arno. If I’m not mistaken, he’s likely part of an
organization and deliberately got close to them.”
On hearing this, Clark instinctively asked, “Are you hurt?”
“No, but he got away. I didn’t feel like chasing him.” Arabella added, “He
approached them under the guise of a pitiful old man, probably trying to dig out
information about Carol from them. This could mean that Carol has something
they want.”
Clark had an idea of what those things might be and was determined to find out.
“Be careful on your end, and get them on a plane soon,’ Arabella instructed.
“Okay; Clark’s eyes were on the dozens of men in black suits approaching him
as he stood in front of the ranch house. He said softly, “Bella, I’m feeling a bit
peckish. Could you grab me something to eat on your way back?”
Hungry?
Arabella found this strange.
After all, a doting brother like Clark wouldn’t send his little sister running errands
for him.
The only reason he asked her to buy food was likely to buy time, to prevent her
from returning too soon.
So, there must be danger at Clark’s end.
“Okay-” Arabella hung up the call promptly. She turned to Jerry, who was waiting
outside and said, “On your way back, get some food for Clark. Try to get there
before I do.”
Huh?
Jerry was confused. She asked him to buy food and also to get there before she
did.
“I’ll take the car first.” Arabella grabbed the car keys from his hand, hopped in,
and sped off toward the ranch.
“Ms. Bella.” Jerry finally caught on and started to panic, “At least give me a ride.
There are no cabs here.”
Looking at the tranquil countryside, Jerry felt like crying. He pulled out his phone
to call his subordinates. Chapter 906
Out on the ranch, Romeo’s men formed a straight line, vowing to protect the
folks inside the house at all costs.
Dozens of men clad in black approached them rapidly like bolts of lightning.
Some of them slipped through the gaps, heading straight for the door. Clark was
there, standing firm, not allowing them to cross the threshold.
“What do we do? Is Clark in danger?”
Taylor hid by the window, peeping out. He was worried but also impressed by
the kid’s loyalty. He’d risked his life again and again to protect them.
Enter title…
Given his character, Taylor secretly vowed that if they could find Carol
unharmed, he’d be all for this match.
“We’re causing trouble for them again,’ Logan said, his worry apparent. The fight
outside was fierce. Clark’s arm had already been slashed. Blood was gushing
out.
“Clark.” Taylor’s heart ached at the sight of all that blood. The kid must be in so
much pain.
But Clark didn’t stop. Two of the men in black tried to take advantage of his
injury to break in, but he deterred them once again.
Things were looking grim.
Just then, the sound of rotor blades came from above.
Both Taylor and Logan noticed the helicopter. Their rescue was here!
Some of the men in black fired at the helicopter, but it didn’t prevent it from
landing smoothly.
The sound startled the cattle, causing them to scatter.
“We have to take Clark and Arabella with us.” Taylor started to say but then
remembered that Arabella hadn’t returned yet. She quickly pulled out her phone,
hands shaking as she dialed the number she remembered.
“Auntie,” Arabella’s voice came from the other end of the phone.
For some reason, hearing Arabella’s voice caused Taylor to break down in tears.
All the worry, fear, and anxiety seemed to lessen at the sound of her voice.
“Arabella, come back quickly. The helicopter is here,’ Taylor said, her voice
choked with tears. “The situation has changed. We all have to leave together.
Hurry up.”
“I’m on my way; Arabella said, her voice calm and comforting. “Don’t worry.”
Although it was just two words, Taylor broke down crying again, “Okay, be
careful on your way back. We are surrounded. When you get here, get on the
helicopter first. Don’t foolishly try to rescue us. Remember.”
“Is Clark okay?” Arabella asked gently.
As soon as Clark was mentioned, Taylor looked outside again. Clark had been
wounded by another man in black. It seemed like he was a bit outnumbered.
Romeo’s men were tough, but they were outnumbered, and some had already
fallen.
Taylor’s voice broke even more, “He’s hurt.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll be there soon.” Arabella had already floored the gas pedal.
Speeding was a small matter that Romeo’s men would handle.
After a while, Clark managed to take down seven or eight of the men in black
outside. Panting heavily, he opened the door, “Quick, I’ll cover you. Get on the
helicopter.”
Seeing the blood-soaked figure before her, Taylor’s tears flowed freely, “Clark,
forget about us. You go first.”
More men in black were appearing wave after wave. There was no way to hold
them off.Chapter 907
They were, in all likelihood, not going to make it to the plane. “Come on.” Clark
had no time for lengthy discussions. Grabbing each other by the arm, they had
barely made it out the door when a knife came slashing down. With a swift kick,
he sent the knife-wielding assailant sprawling and urged them towards the
plane.
Blood stained his arm, and his clothes were already soaked in crimson.
Taylor was in tears, and Logan found a bitter taste in his mouth. If it weren’t for
Carol, this young man wouldn’t be risking his life to protect them.
Enter title…
He was indeed in love with Carol, so deeply that it extended to those she cared
about.
The goons from Romeo were badly injured, but seeing Clark trying to escort the
elderly couple to the plane, they gritted their teeth, rose from the ground, and
fought to protect them.
Taylor looked at the carnage, unable to comprehend who her daughter had
crossed. It was terrifying.
They were still some distance from the plane, and Romeo’s men, already
injured, were dropping like flies. Soon, a dozen or so attackers were rushing
towards Clark.
One of them drew a knife on Taylor.
They didn’t want to kill them but to trap them so they could be taken back to face
their fate.
Seeing the threat to Taylor, Clark pulled her to his side. A knife came down on
his shoulder, making him gasp in pain.
“Clark.” Taylor was terrified. The young man was clearly in agony but was still
hanging on.
Logan saw another attacker aiming for Clark and pushed him away with all his
strength, oblivious to the danger behind him. He was kicked to the ground.
“Logan. Taylor wanted to help him, but more attackers were coming. She closed
her eyes in fear.
Clark pulled Taylor aside, evading several knives, kicked away the attacker
going for Mr. Earwood, and then shoved both Taylor and Mr. Earwood behind
him. “Run!” he shouted.
Left alone to face the two dozen attackers, Clark knew he might not make it out
alive.
Thankfully, his sister had yet to return. Otherwise, he would be filled with guilt for
the rest of his life.
He wondered what treats she might bring him and whether he’d have the
chance to enjoy them.
Taylor was frozen in place. Clark was clearly no match for the attackers,
especially injured as he was. His blood stained the grass beneath him, making
him look like a tragic hero.
“Go!” Logan knew that they would only hinder Clark if they stayed. With a tug,
he got Taylor moving. “Clark will find a way. He loves Carol. He will find a way to
survive.”
“Clark.” Taylor cried out in pain, tears blurring her vision. “You have to protect
yourself. We’re waiting for you to celebrate your wedding. You have to live!”
Hearing this, Clark broke into a smile, both charming and enigmatic.
Did this mean he had the approval of his future in-laws?
If so, he could die without any regrets.
“Run!” Logan urged, pulling Taylor along.
Glancing back, Taylor saw a dozen attackers rushing at Clark. A silver flash and
a knife sliced open Clark’s back, leaving a stark trail of blood.
As Clark staggered under the pain, more fists and blades were aimed at him.
“Clark.” Taylor could run no further. She couldn’t let Clark sacrifice himself for
them. How could she live with that for the rest of her life?Chapter 908
Just then, the urgent roar of an engine was heard closing in.
The girl behind the wheel was as cool as ice, her delicate face betraying no sign
of panic.
The car circled the mob of men in black at an alarming speed, picking off all but
one.
Arabella, having emptied her firearm, discarded it and exited the car, helping
Clark to his feet. “You alright?”
Enter title…
Clark glanced at his sister, suddenly alarmed. “Didn’t I tell you to come back
later?”
No sooner had he spoken, a fleet of cars was seen approaching – a fresh wave
of black-clad men.
“You take care of Logan and Taylor. Get out of here.”
Did they dare to harm Clark?
Arabella lifted her gaze towards the approaching vehicles, her eyes cold as ice.
None of these men would be leaving!
Without another word, Clark guided Logan and Taylor up a flight of stairs.
Meanwhile, Romeo had sent additional reinforcements, tipping the balance in
their favor.
Clark saw the elderly couple onto a plane. Taylor, clinging onto his hand,
implored, “Let’s go together.”
“I need to find Carol first, and you go on ahead.” Clark knew Taylor was worried
about him and his sister. He flashed a charming smile, reassuring her, “We’ll be
fine, don’t worry.”
“But your injuries.”
“I’ll get them bandaged up in a bit. I need to help Bella first. I’ll be in touch.”
Clark signaled for the people inside to close the door.
Taylor pounded on the door, watching Clark’s retreating figure, once again
crying out, “Be careful, Clark, always be careful.”
Ten minutes later.
Arabella and Romeo’s men had finally dealt with this wave of enemies. Looking
at the dozens of bodies strewn around, Arabella felt a sense of relief. It was
lucky she had returned. Otherwise, who knew what would have happened if she
continued to run after Grandpa Arno.
Just then, a plane descended from the sky.
“Ms. Bella, Mr. McMillian has prepared another plane for you, heading directly
for the triangular zone.” A bodyguard respectfully informed, “Please follow me.
We also have a first aid kit on board to assist Clark”
Arabella, supporting the bloody figure beside her, asked, “Can you walk?”
“I’m fine, it’s just a scratch.”
Clark winced as he accidentally pulled at his wound.
Arabella smirked, “Too bad Carol didn’t get to see that.”
“We couldn’t let her see that, and it would upset her.” Clark winced again as the
cold wind whipped at his wound.
The pain was excruciating.
It reminded him of what Jack had once said. How much pain must Arabella have
endured when she faced those dangers alone?
How did she bear it?
Arabella helped Clark onto the elevator.
“Ms. Bella, here are the snacks you asked me to get.” Jerry arrived, panting
heavily, carrying an assortment of treats.
Arabella took them, thanked him, and guided Clark onto the plane.
“You had someone get food for me?” Clark was surprised.
“Weren’t you hungry, Clark?”
Clark was at a loss for words. He had wanted to delay Arabella’s return, but she
had sent someone else to fetch food.
It made sense.
What could he say to his sister?
On the plane.
Arabella tended to Clark’s wounds. Each gash was a shocking sight.
Who knew Clark could endure so much? Any other person would have been
immobilized with pain after a couple of these wounds.Chapter 909
Clark’s patience was commendable. Thank heavens his wounds were not too
deep. Those thugs weren’t out to kill him.
“What’s on your mind?” Clark couldn’t help but ask.
“Those guys were likely trying to bring us back alive, hence the non-fatal
wounds.” Arabella concluded, then added, “If it hurts, let me know.
“No way.” Clark started, but as the medicinal powder hit his wounds, he
clenched his teeth against the pain.
Enter title…
Even though Arabella tried to be as gentle as possible, the stinging pain from
the medicine was enough to break him out in a cold sweat.
It was excruciating.
Arabella, seeing his face, had to stifle a laugh, “Just let it out. I won’t laugh.”
“It doesn’t hurt at all.” Clark managed to say, and his face contorted in pain.
“We’ll be in the Triangular Zone soon. Follow my lead when we get there,’
Arabella smiled, continuing her treatment. “It’s a bit chaotic; don’t go wandering
off on your own”
Clark was speechless.
Why did it sound like she was well-versed in the Triangular Zone?
Just then, Clark’s phone buzzed. It was a message from Serena.
Private jets had satellite communication, meaning they could access the internet
and make calls at any time.
Clark, struggling due to his injuries, took out his phone and saw multiple
messages from Serena.
[Clark, Mom told me you and Bella are in Iridia. I have the weekend off, can I
come and join you guys? ]
[I really want to take pictures at the Art Palace and feel the sea breeze at Mac
Beach. ]
[Please let me come. I promise I will be back after two days. ]
(Excited. jpg]
[Begging.jpg]
Clark knew that Serena must have heard about him and Bella being in Iridia and
assumed they were on vacation. Hence the plead.
He responded, [Bella and I aren’t here for fun. We have some work to do. Next
time, I promise we’ll take you with us.]
[What are you and Bella up to? I want to join.]
[Take me with you. I promise I won’t be a nuisance.]
(Sad.jpg]
[Disappointed.jpg]
Clark responded again, [It’s important, stay home this weekend, keep mom and
dad company. I have to go, talk later]
His arm and shoulder were injured, and even typing caused him pain. Yet he
managed to respond to his little sister with utmost gentleness and patience.
But Serena, on the other end of the phone, felt his indifference, her heart sinking
further.
So, Clark didn’t even want to pretend to comfort her anymore?
He didn’t even want to chat a little?
“Clark, put the phone down, have something to eat, then rest on the bed.”
Arabella, packing up her medical kit, advised gently, “I’ll have someone assist
you later.’
“Okay:
“You, help Clark eat.’ Arabella glanced at one of her men.
“Right away.” He hurriedly picked up the food, feeding Clark bite by bite.
Arabella’s phone had been vibrating for a while. It was Jack, so she swiped to
answer.
Jack hadn’t expected to arrive a step too late. When he had followed the leads
to the ranch, he found that the
boss had already left on a plane.
He had no choice but to call, “Boss, are you still in Lidaria?”
“I’m en route to the Triangular Zone on the plane.” Arabella replied, then asked,
“What’s up?”
“The orphanage you asked me to investigate, we’ve made some progress.” Jack
reported, “It’s more
complicated than we thought. You won’t believe the whole orphanage.”Chapter 910
Jack paused, then continued, “It’s one of the experimental bases of T3
Research Institute, not just a living laboratory but also a terrifying breeding
ground”
T3 Research Institute is a terrifying medical organization that loves to research
a variety of viruses and conduct experiments on children.
The children who can endure these experiments are recruited by their
headquarters to become part of their organization.
In their growth trajectory, they often need to carry out various tasks.
Enter title…
They need a normal identity to cover up their private actions. Therefore, the
orphanage director will arrange them into normal families, allowing them to have
a seemingly everyday life on the surface.
“All foster parents have no idea how terrifying these adopted children are.” Jack
sighed, “On the surface, they are like other children, going to school, have
excellent grades, and are popular, but in reality, they need to report back to the
organization regularly, completing various tasks assigned by the organization.”
At this point, Jack added, “These people have never experienced the warmth of
a family since they were young.
After being adopted, they usually develop feelings for their foster parents, which
becomes a weapon for the organization to restrain them.”
The glimmer in Arabella’s eyes darkened, “You mean Carol might be a part of
T3 Research Institute?”
“Very likely!” Jack affirmed, “And I suspect she must have some leverage
against the orphanage, which is why the research institute is desperate to catch
her.”
“But I’ve fought with those guys, and their methods are not the institute’s.”
Hearing Arabella say this, Jack also found it strange.
“However, the last time the people from T3 Research Institute targeted you, they
caused us quite a bit of trouble. We lost one man, and another got injured, so
we have a score to settle with them!”
Arabella knew that once she was targeted by the people from this research
institute, she either obediently served them, or there was only one outcome, a
dead end.
Over the years, no one who was targeted by them ever escaped.
Could Carol also be one of them?
“You said earlier that T3 Research Institute has a headquarters?” Arabella
asked again, “Where is it located? Is the headquarters also called T3 Research
Institute?”
“I’m not sure.”
Jack always felt this matter was like a huge net, trapping many people. What
they had discovered was only the tip of the iceberg.
“Continue investigating, and I want results as soon as possible.”
“Yes, boss.”
Over ten hours later.
The plane landed on the mountaintop of Mafia Flame’s territory.
Clark was awakened by the sound of landing. He endured the pain from his
wounds and got up to look out the window, only to find dozens of people with
weapons waiting for them.
This was bad.
Had their whereabouts been exposed?
Were the people hunting Carol already lying in wait?
Knock, knock, knock.
There was a knock on the door.
“Clark, we’ve arrived”
Hearing his sister’s voice, Clark managed to get to the door, opened it, and said
somewhat heavily, “Bella, we’re surrounded. While the plane door hasn’t opened
yet, shall we fly somewhere else to land?”
A few question marks popped up in Arabella’s mind. Surrounded? Who would
dare to surround them at their own base?
“Look, those people have chased us here.” Clark’s gaze indicated outside the
window.
Arabella was even more confused. This was Mafia Flame’s territory. Even if
those people were audacious, they wouldn’t possibly show up on the mountain
top.
Not to mention the mountain top, they probably wouldn’t even make it past the
front door of Mafia Flame without being taken care of. Chapter 911
Seeing the earnest look on Clark’s face, she moved towards the window and
peeked out. There was no sign of anyone pursuing Carol, only her loyal crew
waiting at the base of the plane’s stairs, ready to welcome her!
Ever since she’d found her roots, she rarely came back, and the guys were
ecstatic to see her. They all looked expectantly towards the plane, like kids
waiting for candies from their teacher.
Arabella curled her lips in amusement, “Quite the welcome party.”
Seeing his sister moving to open the plane’s door, Clark quickly intervened,
“Knowing the potential danger, you still want to proceed?”
Enter title…
“I’m talking about the welcoming committee.”
Arabella hit the switch, and the plane door slowly opened. Before Clark’s
concerned caution could leave his lips, a group of about fifty people standing by
the stairs shouted in perfect unison, “Boss, welcome home!”
Their boss hadn’t been home in quite a while. Seeing her standing at the top of
the plane’s stairs, everyone couldn’t help but get excited!
Their boss had become even cooler!
But who was the guy behind her? Who was he?
Even Clark was taken aback by the unified greeting. He turned to his sister in
disbelief, “This is?”
“Mafia Flame,’ Arabella was the first to descend the plane stairs, “Clark, we are
home.”
Home?
Mafia Flame was her home?
She was the boss of Mafia Flame?
It took Clark a full three seconds to process this..
He followed his sister’s steps, “As far as I know, Mafia Flame was founded three
years ago. How old were you then? Why did you come to the triangular zone
and become the boss here?”
His mind was filled with questions.
“It’s a long story.”
Arabella briefly explained that three years ago, her grandmother Grace had
fallen seriously ill and urgently needed a certain herbal cure. This herb only
grew on the medicine mountain in the triangular zone. At that time, several
factions were fighting over the mountain. Arabella had shown upright in the
middle of this intense conflict.
Because Grace’s illness required long-term treatment with the herb, and the
herb could only grow in the soil of the medicine mountain, Arabella, by a stroke
of luck, not only managed to establish Mafia Flame and seize the hill, but also
expand her power.
Although she had come close to dying in the triangular zone several times.
“But later on, Granny Grace no longer needed the herb.”
Whenever she thought of Granny Grace, Arabella’s heart would ache as if being
torn apart. The day Granny Grace closed her eyes forever on the operating
table, Arabella, as Dr. Bell, felt helplessly futile.
This regret was something no one could understand.
“Boss!”
Seeing their boss descend the plane stairs, everyone cheerfully called out and
then turned their eyes toward Clark, unsure how to greet him.
“This is my brother, Clark.’ Arabella introduced him and then added, “Bloodrelated.”
Everyone was stunned. The boss always managed to surprise them.
Just like the last time, she had inexplicably formed an alliance with the boss of
Mafia C, then cleaned out Mafia Wolf, shocking the entire triangular zone.
Mafia Flame and Mafia C had never had any contact before.
Many couldn’t understand why they suddenly allied. What was the reason?
Even those within their own circles were unclear about the boss’s moves.
Later, both factions issued stern warnings, stating that if anyone dared to harm
one of them, the other would definitely not let them off.Chapter 912
So, they had been living peacefully in the area for some time, but recently, new
factions had risen, along with old gangs, all wanting to meet with their leader.
Snapping back to reality, everyone, in unison greeted, “Cheers to Clark!”
Clark merely nodded, greeting them back, yet inside, he was utterly stunned.
How much hardship had the girl gone through to be sitting in that chair as the
boss everyone referred to?
No wonder she always came off as aloof, forever wearing that indifferent
expression, seemingly uninterested in anything.
Enter title…
Having grown up in the Murphy household with foster parents who didn’t care
for her and even used her as a scapegoat, she never knew the warmth of a
family.
Other than Grannie Grace, it seemed no one truly cared for her or nurtured her.
She had to fight for everything herself, which was why she became so
independent and self-reliant.
Her cold demeanor, her coolness, her exceptionalness, all were bought with her
blood and tears.
Like Serena, who had never been knocked down by life, always pampered by
the family, had everything she wanted, did everything she wanted, unaware of
how many sweet deals she enjoyed, how much fortune she had.
But his own younger sister, due to a mix-up, had to scratch and claw her way
here, truly experiencing endless darkness and hardship to achieve what she
had now.
Thinking of this, he felt admiration, and his eyes unknowingly welled up with
warmth.
He silently vowed to himself that he would doubly make up for everything his
sister hadn’t experienced, hadn’t received. He would give her double.
“Boss, some new gangs have been asking for you lately.” one of his underlings
reported, trailing behind Arabella, “And people from Hell Base, they want you to
visit their turf alone within three days to discuss something. If not, they
threatened to make trouble for us.”
Arabella responded coldly, “What gives them the nerve to ask for this?”
Just the mention of Hell Base was enough to ignite her rage.
Hell Base was a terrifying overseas organization that had later established a
foothold here, often clashing with the Mafia Flame.
It was one thing for small disputes, but a year ago, they had tried to kill Myrna
Gellar. Arabella had unintentionally witnessed it and jumped in to help,
considering their common enemy.
Myrna had been seriously injured and fled while Arabella intervened. Not only
was she on a covert mission and worried about blowing her cover, but she was
also afraid of falling into enemy hands again, and she needed to detoxify the
lethal poison in her body.
Though they formed a bond as sisters-in-law, it only made Hell Base despise
them more.
“Lately, those foreigners seem to have a stronger backing, and their arrogance
is off the charts. If you didn’t know any better, you’d think they were something
special.” the underling sneered.
“Didn’t you give them a lesson?” Arabella retorted.
“We did. When they swaggered into our territory with threats, we blew up their
car. But they didn’t retaliate, not sure what they’re plotting.”
“Don’t bother with them.” Arabella said flatly, “If they’re in a hurry to meet their
maker, we’ll be happy to oblige.”
Saying this, she had descended from the drug hill and returned to her castle.
The grandeur of the entire castle once again took Clark by surprise, and he
hadn’t expected his sister to have so many secret bases.
Their family probably thought she was just a bookworm.
If they knew about her many identities, they might be shocked.
“Clark, give me the chip.” Arabella planned to take it in and examine it.
“Sure.” Clark handed over the chip, then joined her in her private base with a
laptop, ready to crack the clues Carol had left behind.
Their underlings were stunned, not knowing what the boss and Clark were busy
with, from day till night, still busy after half a day without any plans to open the
door.
Two underlings waited outside the door, left waiting, right waiting, eventually
pushing each other.
“The boss didn’t eat lunch, and now it’s evening. You go tell her to eat
something and continue later.” Chapter 913
“I wouldn’t dare. You’re a veteran. Even if you interrupt the boss, she won’t
blame you.”
“Who says so? You’re a newbie, and you won’t be faulted for your ignorance. It’s
best if you go.”
“No, no, no. Even if I had a hundred guts, I wouldn’t dare.”
Two underlings were passing the buck to each other outside the door when
suddenly, the door swung open.
Enter title…
Startled by the icy aura of the girl standing in front of them, the pair quickly
declared in unison, “Boss, dinner’s ready”
Arabella glanced at the darkening sky and couldn’t help but ask, “Any news from
Mafia C?”
“Eh? News? What news?”
The two underlings were stumped. What news could there possibly be from
Mafia C? Wait, was there supposed to be any news?
Arabella was somewhat puzzled. By all means, Romeo should have reached
the triangular zone by now and would have contacted her immediately. Why
hadn’t he arrived yet? Should she call and check? What if he was just held up
by work, and she would be interrupting him?
With these thoughts in mind, Arabella dismissed the idea, “We’ll eat later.”
She closed the door once again.
The two underlings exchanged glances. Why was the boss increasingly
interested in the affairs of Mafia C?
Ever since the alliance was formed, anyone who disrespected Mafia C was
crushed under the boss’s orders.
“Clark, how is it going?”
After entering the study, Arabella turned her gaze to Clark, who was busy
checking the templates.
She had just decrypted the chip hidden in the pendant that Carol had given to
Mr. Earwood. There were ten templates in total, each filled with different
combinations of letters.
Clark had matched the odd code inscribed on the heart-shaped pendant that
Carol had given to Mrs. Earwood with the templates, and the result was 21.1
degrees north latitude, 99.2 degrees east longitude, and one word – dangerous.
“Where’s this?” Clark was somewhat surprised, and he hadn’t expected to get
such a location.
Was Carol trying to tell him that this place was dangerous?
“This place is in the triangular zone, but no one operates there.”
It could be said to be a very remote place.
“Could Carol have left something there? I have to go.” Clark stood up, ready to
leave.
“You’re injured like this, better not. I’ll go instead,” Arabella offered.
She glanced at the silver key in her hand. This was found by Mrs. Earwood in
the scarf that Carol had gifted her.
Could it be a key to something?
She would bring it along just in case.
“No.” Clark refused, “Your underlings said it too. There are several forces
looking for you lately. It’s safer for you to stay here.”
He couldn’t let his sister take the risk!
“I’ll be quick. There won’t be any trouble, Arabella didn’t give him a chance to
refuse, “Let’s eat first. I’m hungry.”
Only then did Clark realized that they hadn’t eaten for half a day while
investigating the clues Carol had left behind.
She must be starving.
Thinking this, he felt guilty again.Chapter 914
“Alright, let’s get some grub.” Clark descended the staircase with her, but before
they could even reach the dining table, the sound of an airplane landing outside
the mansion echoed through the air.
One of her associates sprinted in. His face was as pale as a ghost. “Boss, the
head of Group S is here! It looks like he’s landing on our airstrip. Should we stop
him?”
Even though their two gangs had already formed an alliance, the mansion was
still their boss’s personal territory. To brazenly land his plane on her airstrip
without so much as a heads-up… wasn’t that a tad…
Enter title…
overbearing?
“Let him land.” Arabella’s eyes softened a fraction. “Send someone to greet
him.”
“Huh?” The associate thought he had misheard her, but under the weight of her
gaze, he quickly complied.
Oh, how the mighty have fallen!
The Arabella of old feared nothing and nobody, not even the God. Why was she
being so courteous to Group S now?
Sure, Group S had a formidable reputation, but there was no need to kowtow to
them so!
The associate was a tad confused. It seemed as though Arabella had gone soft,
but he dared not voice his thoughts. Instead, he just led the welcome party.
Clark noticed that though Arabella had originally planned to eat, upon hearing of
Romeo’s arrival, she turned on her heel and headed towards the airstrip, not
bothering to hide her anticipation.
Love really does conquer all.
Clark could only follow his sister’s lead and join her in welcoming his future
brother-in-law.
Once the plane had landed and the doors opened, a tall, austere man appeared
before them.
His icy gaze and regal demeanor made him seem like a mountain, so imposing
that those below him dared not breathe too loudly.
His right-hand man, Carl, trailed behind him.
Carl thought, “Boss, you’re the one who wanted to see Ms. Bella. Why did you
have to drag me along.? I want to go home, and I want a vacation!”
Arabella’s men were rightfully wary of this new visitor. After all, he’d led Group S
in many groundbreaking operations back in the triangular zone.
As the man descended the stairs, they nervously greeted him. “Mr. McMillian.”
This was Mr. McMillian’s first visit to their mansion, and his assertive entry left
them unsure of his intentions.
“Where’s your boss?” Carl asked, worried that Ms. Bella was off investigating
something on her own again.
“Our boss…” The associate began but then spotted Arabella approaching.
She had a cool, aloof air about her, and the wind whipping through her hair gave
her a certain feminine charm.
Romeo’s gaze softened when he saw her, and he walked over to wrap her in his
arms.
They hadn’t seen each other in days, and Romeo’s hug was noticeably tighter.
The seven or eight associates were flabbergasted, their eyes nearly popping out
of their skulls. What was going on?
The head of Group S was making a move on their bass, right in front of them.
More importantly, why wasn’t Arabella kicking him where it hurt?
Instead…
She wrapped her arms around his waist, looking up at him with bright eyes.
“Weren’t you supposed to arrive at noon?”
The associates’ jaws dropped.
Was their boss… in a relationship?Chapter 915
And her boyfriend was the boss of Group S?
That’s downright bone-chilling.
If word got out, it would cause quite a stir.
“Sorry, I was held up with something.” Romeo gently stroked the girl’s soft hair,
“Have you been eating properly lately?”
“Yes”
Just as she answered, a rumble came from her stomach.
Enter title…
Arabella was speechless.
“Lying?” Romeo chuckled indulgently, his eyes full of happiness and
satisfaction, “Waiting for me?”
Carl couldn’t help but chime in, “The boss was about to leave after finishing up
in Dawnstar, but hearing that a local fairy-tale-thermed amusement park was
struggling financially, he decided to buy and gift it to you.”
The amusement park was a dreamy place, with a large venue and beautiful
decorations. However, due to the high entry fee, it didn’t attract many customers
and eventually struggled to stay open.
The minions around them were taken aback. A whole amusement park as a
present? Not just some jewelry or clothes?
The boss of Group S was quite a big spender when it came to romance, wasn’t
he?
“Have you thought of a name for the new park yet? You can name it when
you’re ready.’ Romeo’s fingers gently traced the girl’s soft, delicate cheek. Her
beautiful face, every inch of her skin, was etched into his memory.
Arabella, with her bright, clear eyes, nodded, “Sure.”
“Let’s grab something to eat first.” Romeo supported her waist and noticed Clark
beside them, “How’s your injury, Clark?”
He’d heard from his men in Florida that Clark was injured while helping two old
folks.
“It’s nothing, just a scratch.” Clark walked alongside them, “I heard from Bella
that you’ve been secretly looking into Carol’s whereabouts for me and found that
she was in the Triangular Zone a month ago.”
Without this crucial information from Romeo, he would never have found the
Triangular Zone.
At first, he was a bit hostile towards his brother-in-law because it took him much
effort to reconnect with his sister, and he didn’t want her to be taken away by
someone else so soon. He was also worried that Romeo was just fooling
around, not genuinely in love with his sister.
But after a few interactions, he saw that in Romeo’s eyes, there was only her.
He was cold and ruthless in front of others, but in front of his sister, he was as
obedient as a puppy.
“But I couldn’t find any more useful clues for you.” Romeo’s men had only
managed to find out this much.
“It’s already very helpful.’ Clark patted him on the shoulder in return, trying to
comfort him, “Even though we don’t know where Carol is hiding, the Triangular
Zone isn’t big. As long as we keep looking, we’re bound to find her one day. I
feel guilty for dragging you two into this.”
“You’re wrong to think that way. Your problems are our problems. Besides, we’re
familiar with this place. It’s safer for you here than anywhere else.”
After Romeo finished, Arabella added, “If you were to go to the Triangular Zone
alone, that would be truly dangerous.”
It was a confirmed case of a lamb walking into a lion’s den.
The Triangular Zone was filled with gangs. An outsider would quickly attract
attention and likely be bullied.
But with the backing of Group S and Mafia Flame, things would be different.
“Boss, should we bring up the other gift for Ms. Bella?” Carl suddenly
suggested.
Arabella and Clark were both surprised. Another gift?
Romeo looked at the girl, his tone full of indulgence, “The guys from Hell Base
were looking for you, weren’t they? I heard from my men that they’ve had quite a
few run-ins with Mafia Flame. Recently, they even came knocking, asking you to
come to their turf within three days?Chapter 916
With such a provocation, Arabella didn’t bat an eye, but Romeo couldn’t stand it.
Arabella lifted her gaze and asked, “So, you’ve nabbed their guys?”
“The plan is to string their boss up outside the Mafia Flame joint for three days
and nights. A lesson to the rest; Romeo replied.
Arabella thought, “wouldn’t that be a bit too ostentatious? Inviting trouble?”
“At this point, none of them are a match for either of our gangs.”
Romeo didn’t consider the other small gangs and factions at all, especially in the
Triangular Zone. He could do anything without worrying about them.

“Just strip them and send them back,’ Arabella suggested. She wanted to find
Carol next and didn’t want any further complications.
Carl was a bit surprised. Was that all? Wasn’t that letting them off easy?
If it hadn’t been for his reckless orders, so many people wouldn’t have been
doggedly pursuing Ms. Bella in the past.
“Alright, as you wish, Romeo said, his eyes twinkling with gentle affection. It was
her call on how to handle it since the person was already sent over.
“I’ll have them put him in a coffin and carried over, Arabella instructed her
subordinates.
Her henchmen didn’t know what to say. They felt that their boss was just as
cunning as the head of Group S.
They were like peas in a pod.
They wondered how the base would react when they saw their boss being sent
back in such a manner. Would they feel humiliated?
After entering the castle, Arabella had someone set a place for Romeo at the
table.
The subordinates inside were also stunned. They had never expected the head
of Group S to show up here, let alone share a meal with their boss.
In the unseen corners, what kind of history did their boss and the head of Group
S have to be so friendly all of a sudden?
Why did they seem like a family? The atmosphere was oddly harmonious.
And Clark, acting like a gracious host, said, “Romeo, have more. You and Bella
have been working too hard those days.”
Everyone looked at each other as if asking: What’s happening? Were they
seeing things, or were their boss and the head of Group § really dating with the
family’s approval?
The two seemed inseparable, like a couple.
If this news were true, it would rock the entire Triangular Zone.
As Arabella was eating, she brought up recent events one by one to share with
Romeo.
The subordinates were stunned again. They never thought their usually quiet
boss could say so much in one go.
Romeo listened with a smile, his gaze on her both indulgent and gentle. When
she talked about the dangers she’d faced, he gently cleaned some ketchup fram
the corner of her mouth, “Next time something like this happens, you have to
take me with you.”
Even though he knew she was capable, he couldn’t help worrying. She had
managed to dodge a bullet this time, but what about next time? Or the time after
that?
Even a one in a one-in-a-million chance.
He couldn’t bear it.
Arabella then shared the secrets she had cracked. Clark, at her side, suddenly
felt like a third wheel.
When he had been with Carol, he never felt their relationship was particularly
sweet. But now, tasting the sweetness of their interaction, he felt like it was
overkill.
After a while, Arabella’s phone vibrated. She checked it and saw that it was a
call from Taylor. Chapter 916

“Bella, have you two managed to escape the danger? Did Clark seek medical
attention? Is his injury serious? Is he alright?”
She had been worried sick, and as she hadn’t received a call from the siblings
confirming their safety, she decided to call them herself.
“Clark is fine. None of his injuries are critical. As for the package Carol sent you
guys, we’ve managed to decode a part of it. We should be able to locate her
soon.”
Upon hearing this, Taylor was relieved. “Good, good, as long as you guys are
safe, that’s all that matters.”

After dinner, Romeo wanted to take Arabella to Group S. She knew he wanted
everyone to be aware of her identity.
Just then, one of his men came to report, “Boss, Dennis has arrived.”
Hearing a man’s name, Romeo’s eyes darkened slightly. Who was Dennis? He
seemed to be someone of great importance.
“Where was he?” Arabella seemed to take a keen interest in that man.
“He’s outside the castle, at the northwest gate. He seemed to be trying to avoid
being seen.”
“Invite him to the drawing room.” Arabella let go of Romec’s hand and gently
said, “I need to take care of some business first. You and Clark stay put and wait
for me to join you.”
“Alright, be careful.” Romeo just patted her head, his eyes full of indulgence and
tenderness, not giving any thought to anything else.
The girl was just going to handle some business.
The castle had a secluded drawing room on the first floor. As soon as Arabella
appeared, she saw a tall figure standing with his back to the window.
“You’re here?” Arabella closed the door.
Dennis turned around, a black mask covering his face, revealing only a pair of
clear eyes.
Just by looking at his eyes, one could tell he was in his early twenties, about the
same age as Arabella.
“I heard you’ve returned to Mafia Flame. I came as soon as I could, hoping you
could do me a favor.” Dennis paused before making his request, “I need
something.”
Arabella smirked, “What was that?”
“A Starflower from the Medicinal Mountain, just one would do”
It was said that the most valuable plant in the entire Medicinal Mountain was the
Starflower. There were only two left, and they could cure all kinds of diseases.
Even the healthy would benefit from consuming it. It’s extremely valuable.
Many people had tried to get their hands on this precious plant before.
Arabella gave a faint smile, “Do you know? Granny Grace has passed away.
Upon hearing the news, Dennis’ eyes widened in disbelief, evidently shocked.
While shocked, his eyes also turned dull, “I’m sorry to have reminded you of
such painful memories. It seems the Starflower really is just a rumor”
He knew how much Arabella cared for Granny Grace. If Arabella had the
Starflower, there was no way she couldn’t save Granny Grace…
There was only one possibility, that is, there was no such thing as Starflower in
the Medicinal Mountain. It was just a rumor spread by other gangs, hoping to
find an excuse to trouble Mafia Flame.
Dennis’ gaze was as dark as a stormy sky, “In that case, I’m sorry for the
disturbance.”
Just as he was about to leave, Arabella called out to hirn, “What kind of illness is
it? Maybe I can help.”
Hearing her say that, Dennis stopped, giving a bitter smile, “It’s complicated. No
one in this world can cure it.”
“Are you sure?” Arabella raised her eyes, intrigued by this supposedly incurable
disease.
“It’s extremely complicated, and… we’re running out of time.” Dennis’ eyes, like a
pending rainstorm, were filled with pain. He added, “Perhaps this is just the will
of destiny.Chapter 918
The sight of Dennis’ crestfallen face stirred something within Arabella. “Seems
like that person means a lot to you.”
“More than my own life,’ Dennis replied, lifting his gaze to meet Arabella’s. He
smiled, “I’m glad I met you in this life. Hopefully, in the next one, we can meet
under different circumstances.”
“Dennis, don’t do anything foolish,’ Arabella implored, sensing his despair. “You
once told me that we should never give up as long as there’s a glimmer of
hope.”
Enter title…
“But there’s no hope left’ Dennis’ voice was steeped in desolation. His eyes
mirrored his words. “Arabella, there’s no hope left. We have less than 24
hours… I thought the starflower could save her.”
He had hoped against hope that the rumored miraculous herb was real and had
even swallowed his pride to seek Arabella’s help. But when she confirmed there
was no such plant on the herb mountain, his last shred of hope was obliterated.
He felt like he had plunged into an abyss.
Despite everything he had done, he couldn’t save her.
His shoulders trembled ever so slightly, a clear indication that he was crying. His
sorrow was palpable, ensnaring the two individuals in the room.
“Let me see her,’ Arabella proposed, hoping to offer some assistance.
“She wanted to leave this world in peace, Dennis choked out. Gratitude was
evident in his voice. “Thank you for your kindness. I’ll thank you on her behalf. It
was worth meeting you in this lifetime.”
Given the victim’s identity, it wasn’t appropriate to make a big deal out of this. It
was best to let her leave quietly.
And he, he would accompany her to another world, ensuring she wouldn’t be
alone.
As she watched him walk away, Arabella softly said, “If you need any help, don’t
hesitate to reach out to me”
Dennis paused but didn’t turn around. It took him a moment before he could
utter a simple acknowledgment.
He then quickly exited the room, the tear at the corner of his eye unnoticed by
Arabella.
Leaving the reception room, Arabella felt a bit down.
Romeo, who had just seen Dennis leave with reddened eyes, now noticed
Arabella’s low spirits. He couldn’t help but ask, “What happened?”
“I might not have a chance to repay my debt in this life,” Arabella paused before
looking up at Romeo. “Let’s go. I need you to accompany me somewhere,”
Carol had left geographical coordinates. If she went there alone, someone
would likely report back to Romeo.
So, it was better to invite him along.
“What about Clark?” Romeo asked, seeing through her intentions. “You want us
to team up?”
Arabella nodded, appreciating his understanding.
Clark was sitting on the living room couch, his fingers tapping away at the laptop
keyboard. Despite comparing the strange symbol Carol had left him with a
global image database, he couldn’t find anything useful.
What on earth did Carol’s mysterious symbol mean?
“Clark, we should check out the location Caral left us tomorrow. It’s too late now,
and we can’t arrange for backup. You’re injured, so you should rest up tonight.
I’m heading to bed too,” Arabella suggested, making sure to add, “We all should
get some rest.”
Clark paused his work, replying gently, “Okay.”
Turning to Romeo, he asked, “What about you?”
“I’m heading back to my place. I’ll come over in the morning.”
“Alright, Clark closed his laptop and slowly got up, wincing in pain. “We agreed
to act together tomorrow. No one gets left behind.”
“Agreed” Arabella responded readily.
Half an hour later…Chapter 919
Clark couldn’t find any leads on the strange symbol in his room. Standing by the
window, he noticed that the light in his sister’s room next door had dimmed.
Could she be up to something without telling him?
As he pondered over this, he walked next door and knocked on the door.
Arabella, in her pajamas, rubbing her eyes, showed signs of slight fatigue.
“Clark? What’s up?”
“Did you go to bed?” Clark was surprised. “I’m sorry, I saw your light dimmed
and thought you.”

“Thought what?” Arabella yawned lazily, seemingly not understanding Clark’s
implication.
Clark felt sorry for his suspicion and was also charmed by his sister’s adorable
appearance.
She had dealt with so many people today and accomplished so much, and she
must be worn out!
And he, as her brother, had suspected that she would act alone without telling
him. He was too suspicious, too distrustful of his adorable sister!
He could suspect anyone, but how could he suspect his own sister?
Especially such a good, such a cute sister!
“Clark, whatever it is, just tell me.” Arabella’s eyes still showed sleepiness, with
a hint of redness at the corners, indicating that she was trying hard to stay
awake to talk to him.
“No worries, I just wanted to see if you were asleep. If not, I was going to tell
you to get some rest.’ Clark extended his uninjured right hand, gently stroking
her head, “Go to bed, good night. Have a sweet dream.”
Arabella, still a bit drowsy, said, “You should go to bed early too, Clark. We’ll act
together tomorrow… You need a good rest tonight.’
“Okay, I promise, I’ll go to bed right now.”
Clark stroked her head again, and after she went into her room, he returned to
his own.
To avoid slowing his sister down, he quickly turned off the light and went to bed,
ready to recharge his energy and check the location where Carol had left clues
tomorrow.
On the other hand.
Arabella had changed out of her pajamas and put on casual clothes. Seeing that
Clark’s light had dimmed, she directly came out of the castle through the secret
passage in her room. Romeo was already waiting for her in his car.
“Did Clark go to bed?” Romeo opened the car door for her, smilingly asked.
“Yeah.” Arabella had guessed that Clark would definitely come to her, so she set
him aside, “Clark was seriously injured today. It’s better for him to take a good
rest. We’ll park the car a bit further and walk over later.”
“Okay: Twenty minutes later.
They arrived in a jungle. Passing through here, they would reach the location
left by Carol.
The jungle was pitch black without any light, only the sound of insects and birds
exuding a chilling gloom.
If an ordinary person saw this scene, they would probably be scared away. But
Arabella took out night vision goggles from her bag and handed one to Romeo.
Unexpectedly, the next second, Romeo circled her waist, bowed his head, and
kissed her lips.
Because of Clark’s presence today, he hadn’t overstepped any boundaries.
Finally, all the longing of these days was released at this moment, as Romeo
tasted the sweetness from the girl, deepening the kiss further.
The gentle moonlight shone on them, making this moment as beautiful as a
dream in a fairy tale.
After who knows how long, Romeo let go of her, his eyes full of deep affection
and satisfaction.
Arabella put the night vision goggles on him, making him look even more
handsome. Their fingers intertwined,
and they walked shoulder-to-shoulder into the depths of the jungle.Chapter 920
Even with night vision goggles that allowed her to penetrate the darkness and
see every detail in the dense forest, Arabella still managed to stumble over a
rock at her feet.
“Careful!” Romeo said in a timely manner, pulling her into his arms. “Did you
hurt your foot?”
Before Arabella could reply, Romeo had already knelt down, letting her sit on his
lap as he unlaced her boots to inspect the damage.
Her foot was fine, but a few scratches on her ankle, likely from a branch, looked
raw and red. Seeing the tender and now injured skin of the young woman made

Romeo’s heartache.
“Does it hurt?” asked Romeo, his eyes full of concern.
Arabella shook her head.
If she hadn’t seen the scratches herself, she wouldn’t have even known she had
been cut by a branch. She was never one to fuss over petty injuries like this.
In her eyes, it wasn’t even a wound.
At most, it was as if the branch had simply tickled her.
“And your foot? Does it hurt from the stumble? Can you walk?”
“Lcan, I’m fine.” Arabella thought he was making a fuss over nothing. “I’m not
that delicate.”
After helping her put her boots back on, Romeo promptly lifted her into his arms.
“I’m wonderful,” she protested.
“I just wanted to carry you,’ Romeo replied, his steps steady as he moved
forward with her in his arms. “You’re so light. Haven’t been eating properly these
days, have you?”
“I was heavy before?”
“You were always light, but you’re even lighter now.” Romeo’s steps slowed
down due to the added weight, “You need to eat more. I’ve learned to cook all
your favorite dishes. I can make them for you when we get back.
“You’ve been secretly practicing all this while?”
“Not secretly. Openly.” He replied, the corners of his mouth curling into a gentle,
doting smile. “Was there anything else you’d like me to learn?”
“Hmm?”
“In other words, where can I improve further? Your advice is always valuable.”
Romeo’s smile grew even warmer.
Laughing, Arabella wrapped her arms around his neck, ready to respond. But
before she could, she quickly covered his mouth, whispering in his ear,
“Someone’s coming.”
Romeo heard it, too. He set her down, and they quickly hid, with Romeo pulling
her close to him, as if afraid she’d be exposed to the slightest danger.
Two men were wandering around in the forest with flashlights, grumbling as they
did.
“So cold out here, and we still have to patrol. The elders are being paranoid.
That traitor wouldn’t dare to come back.”
“If she ever did come back, the two of us wouldn’t stand a chance against her.
We are just going through the motions here. I think the traitor’s probably long
dead. The elders are just worried about that thing she took.”
“No, you’re seeing it too superficially. She was once highly regarded by the
elders, and then she stabbed them in the back. The elders’ hearts turned cold,
and that’s why they issued a kill order against her.”
“Women, in the end, always get lost in love. She had such a bright future, and
yet she chose love over power. If it were me, I’d choose power any day. Love’s
just a pointless notion.”
“Here we are, stuck patrolling in the middle of the night because of her. Let’s just
quit this and go have a drink to warm ourselves up. It’s freezing out here.”
“If the elders find out we’re slacking off, you know better than me how ugly our
deaths would be.”
“Alright, alright. Let’s finish patrolling here first, then we’ll go have a drink. Life’s
tough…
Romeo and Arabella listened as their voices grew fainter until they were finally
gone. Only then did they rise, locking eyes in mutual understanding
