Chapter Chapter Eight
Louie
I woke up feeling safe and warm. I opened my eyes and saw Nate sleeping peacefully. I smiled and rested my head on his chest. I felt him tense and then move.
“Good morning Louie.” He mumbled.
“Morning sleepy head.” I said and looked up at him.
He smirked and kissed me gently on the lips. His arms wrapped tighter around my waist and my arms wrapped around his neck. One of his hands traveled down my back and pulled me closer. He bit my lip making me gasp. He quickly slid his tongue in and made me moan. Then a growl erupted from across the room. We both pulled away quickly and I saw Damon standing in the doorway. His eyes were black and his face showed that he was hurt and angry.
“Damon...” I gasped
“Save it.” He said and walked away fast.
“Damon!” I yelled and slid out of the bed. I ran out of the room and down the hall and heard the door slam.
I ran out the door and saw a flash of brown fur run into the woods.
“Louie.”
I turned and saw Nate leaning against the door.
“Don’t worry. Just let him cool off. Come on, I’ll make you breakfast.”
He said holding out his hand. I smiled and let him lead me into the kitchen. I sat down the at the table and watched him make pancakes and bacon. He handed me a plate when he finished and sat across from me. We ate in silence until we were finished and he took the plates and put them in the sink. I fixed Damon a plate and put into the microwave.
“I didn’t know you could cook.” I said as we walked out onto the porch.
“Yeah, it’s something my mom taught me.”
I smiled until another growl came. I turned and saw Damon walking up to the house.
“Your breakfast is in the microwave.” I say as he passes.
We follow him inside the house and watched him pull the plate out and started eating. Halfway through, he glanced up.
“Thanks Lou, Its delicious.”
“Oh, I didn’t make it, Nate did.” I said
He stopped eating and glared at us. He shoved the plate off the table and let it smash onto the floor.
“Damon!” I yelled.
“I don’t ever want to taste your dirt!” He yelled and shoved Nate against the wall.
“Damon stop!” I yelled and tried to pry him off.
He shoved me away and I fell to the ground, hitting my head on the floor.
“You hurt her, you son of a bitch!” Nate yelled and shoved him off.
Nate pinned Damon to the ground and started to punch him in the face repeatedly. I jumped up and tried to pull Nate off.
“Stop, both of you!” I said finally pulling Nathan off. “I’m sick of you two fighting! How do you expect us to come together and win a war, if you two can’t get over yourselves?! I can’t do this, I can’t be the only one that holds all of this together. Until you two get along, I’m done with both of you!” I said then ran out of the house.
I let Naula take over and I shifted. I felt the wind run through my fur and mud squish under my paws. I ran hard and fast until I came to the waterfall that runs down into the lake. I had found this place when I was younger and I always came here when I needed to get away from people. I ran alongside the rocks and ducked through the waterfall, into the hidden cave. I shifted back and changed into some old clothes that I had left here. They were a little small, but they covered the goods.
I walked to the back of the cave and layed down on the old sleeping bag. I sighed and hugged myself. I really did hope they would get along.
Nate
After she ran, we both just sat there, neither of us looking at each other.
“You know, she’s right.” I said
Damon looked up at me and shook his head. “Sorry about earlier. I just got carried away.”
“It’s okay man.”
“Why was she with you this morning?” He asked
“I came home late last night after being attacked by a rouge wolf. She helped me upstairs and stayed with me to help calm down Blake.”
“You were attacked? So were two others-”
“I know. She told me last night.” I said
Suddenly Damon’s phone started ringing. He stood up and pulled it out.
“Hello? Well, spit it out.” Then his eyes went wide and he looked at me. “Why are you just now telling me?! Put two more on patrol, and make sure everyone is okay. I gotta go find Louie.”
With that he hung up.
“What’s wrong?” I asked.
“Vampires have trespassed. A few were killed and hurt. We need to find Louie, now.”
“Why, What’s the rush?”
“Nate, the other part of the prophecy, that I didn’t tell her, was not only does she have two werewolf mates...she also has a vampire mate.”
