The Otherside: Jay McClayn: This Is High School (Book 1)

Chapter 27

Months flew by, it was already June. Madison told me yesterday that she had nothing left to teach me about shape shifting (I even figured out how to shift my clothes with me), but I told her I was still going to stay till the end of the month. I wanted to learn more about God and the full religious belief. The days flew by, I was having fun sparring with other shapeshifters. With the break at lunch I magically called Harrison. I have been calling him daily so I thought I would do it during my lunch break. I walked away from everyone else, took out my wand and opened a call with Harrison, he picked up. The spell is kind of like Skype but the screen is in the air. Well really it is a portal, but we don’t go through it because it takes too much energy.

“Hey Jamie, how is your day going? Isn’t it a little early to be calling?” Harrison said. I could see he was in the kitchen.

“I thought it was never too early. Am I interrupting something?” I asked curiously.

“No, you’re not. Everyone is here and we just got done with eating. What about you? Looks like you have been in a fight.” He responded.

“Make that 30 this morning. Do I really look that messed up?” I didn’t think I looked that bad.

“No, you’re just covered in dirt, your hairs is messed up and you have a few cuts.” Right after Harrison finished, Jason came flying through the entryway of the kitchen and his back hit the counter.

“Harrison, we have a problem, Alice is here.” He said weakly.

“Jason!” I yelled. I was scared for them, my family. Harrison flicked his wrist and he got rid of my screen on his side and muted me.

“Danget!” I yelled.

I heard Alice roar “Where is she?!?” I saw her walk into the kitchen. Alice had long brown hair and hazel eyes.

“Not here, Alice.” Harrison replied calmly. Alice struck him across the face.

“No duh, Sherlock!” She levitated Harrison and Jason into the wall. His back was facing me.

“Where is she?!?” I was starting to get pissed off. I quickly undid Harrison’s spell to hide and mute our portal.

“Leave them alone Alice!” I spoke sternly. “Come find me.” Alice dropped them to the ground and turned to me.

She laughed evilly. “I just did, you are so stupid.” She jumped through the portal and appeared on top of me. A fight had just begun. I shut the portal so no one else could get through; this was between me and Alice.

I quickly pushed her off of me and put my wand away.

“What is your problem?” I yelled at her.

“You don’t get it?” she slapped me across the face and I went flying into a rock. I felt pain coursing through my body. I had been fighting all day, and with her rage I knew I didn’t stand a chance. I quickly picked myself up.

“No, I don’t get it. I don’t know you!” I yelled back to her, hoping it could be settled with words.

“I don’t want to fight you. Is this about Jason?” She walked closer and grabbed my throat.

“This is more than just Jason. It runs further back than that.” She stared into my eyes like she was reading into my soul. She wasn’t in my head or I would have felt it. It was like she was being a truth detector.

“You really don’t remember, do you?” she sighed and threw me aside.

“You’re garbage!” She yelled at me. Her words set me off. I quickly got up, pulled my dagger out and tackled her. My dagger was at her throat.

“I’m garbage? Really?” I was pissed.

“I’m not attacking innocent people.” Alice laughed. “I’m not fighting you without your memories. I want you to know all the damage you have done and all the people you have hurt.” Alice put her hand on my head. “You have much to learn my dear sister. Obviously Harrison and Jason do too. They should have done this a while ago.” I was frozen, I couldn’t move. She pushed me off, and put my dagger in my right shoulder. Her hand never left my forehead. My eyes were getting hazy and I slowly passed out.
