The Origin Of Gallahon

Chapter The Joust

Gallahon, Nina and the two elves had made it through the labyrinth alive. They were almost out of the desert. The only obstacle left was the gate. The gate was heavily guarded and night had fallen. The guardsmen on top of the gate were armored from head to toe and had nasty looking weapons. Sharp swords and spears pointed to the very tip. Gallahon and the others stood back against the gate without detection.

“We need to open this gate somehow.” pointed out Gallahon.

“You just leave that to me.” Trenton said. “Just stay here.” Trenton unsheathed his swords and ran towards the guard’s tower to get to the top of the gate. Trenton kicked the door opened. One guard was inside and saw Trenton breaking in. But before the guard could inform the other guards, Trenton ran up to him and slit his throat. Trenton ran up the stairs and kicked the other door opened. The other guards were alerted. Trenton ran up to one of the guards and jumped, jabbing one of his blades through his neck where he had no protection. As two more guards ran towards Trenton, Trenton swept kicked one of them causing him to fall forward and land on his own blade.

As a guard threw down his spear, Trenton blocked with his swords. Trenton kicked the guard back. The guard thrust his spear and Trenton stepped aside jabbing his sword between his plates of armor. One guard came up behind Trenton raising his weapon in the air. He came at Trenton like a samurai. Trenton back flipped over him kicking his head. When Trenton landed, he ran and slide on his knees, cutting his leg between the plates. When the guard was down he stood back up and stabbed him in the face.

“Should we help?” Nina asked.

“No. Looks like he’s got everything under control.” replied Gallahon. Trenton then attacked the other guard by cutting his neck. Two other guards ran up behind Trenton as Trenton flipped his swords and impaled both of the guards. Blood was splattered everywhere. The last guard shot an arrow from the top of the tower. Trenton was fast enough to catch the arrow. Trenton threw the arrow back at the guard as if it was a dart and impaled the guard in his fore head. A hand full of guards and Trenton had killed them all. Trenton pulled a lever to open the gate.

As soon as the gate was opened, Trenton jumped off, landing on the soft sand. The others looked at him in awe. Gallahon was most impressed.

“You just took out a hand full of guards. That’s impressive.”

“They were easy. Nothing an elf can’t handle.” As all four of them walked into Windfall, Trenton noticed Gallahon’s broken sword.

“Gallahon. Before you face off with King Erloc, I know a guy who can repair your sword.”

“Excellent. Lead the way my Elvin friend.” They were relieved to be back home at Windfall. The others followed Trenton through the market to a local blacksmith to repair Gallahon’s broken sword before his final battle with King Erloc. The roads were cleared. Not a horse or carriage was on the road. Luckily the local blacksmith shop was still opened. The blacksmith’s shop was connected to the side of a small hill. Trenton opened the door and all four of them went in.

“Whose there?” A voice called out in a Scottish accent.

“We have come seeking an audience with you.” The voice recognized Trenton’s voice.

“Trenton, is that you?” A small figure, small enough to be mistaken for a child but had a beard of a full grown man stepped out of the shadows. Trenton kneeled down as the little man came to him, giving him a hug.

“My Gods Trenton it is you! I haven’t seen you in ages, how you’ve been?” The little man had stopped hugging Trenton.

“I’ve been better my old friend.” Trenton jokingly said.

“Old? Well I’ll have you know my pointed eared friend, I am what you might call the young blood of the dwarves.” The others laughed. “Anyways what can I do for you?” he asked.

“My friend here needs his sword repaired.”

“Let me have a look.” commanded the dwarf. Gallahon had handed the dwarf his sword. The dwarf observed the remains of the sword. There was not much blade left.

“Have you got the blade shards?” questioned the dwarf.

“No I don’t.” replied Gallahon. The dwarf made a tisk-tisk sound with his mouth as he turned.

“Well we’ll have to re-make this sword from scratch then. Follow me if you please.” Gallahon and the others had followed the dwarf. They followed the dwarf downstairs into a mine. A blacksmith’s forge and anvil was placed in the mine. There were other dwarves down in the mine. The dwarves were the blacksmith’s and craftsmen of Windfall. The dwarf with Gallahon’s sword turned to face them.

“Repairing this sword to its original state could take days. Now you all are welcome to stay the nights until your sword is fully recovered. Or there’s a tavern down the road some called ’The Drunken’ Dragon’ you can stay there for the night. Your choice.”

“We’ll stay at the tavern.” said Trenton. Trenton had handed the dwarf some gold, but the dwarf refused.

“Oh no no no. I’ll repair it no charge my friend, on the house.”

“I appreciate it, thank you.”

“Come back here in a couple of days and your friend’s sword shall be good as new. Oh, I forgot to tell you all. King Erloc just announced he’s going to be holding a jousting tournament.”

“A jousting tournament?” Gallahon questioned.

“Yes, try outs for the tournament begin first light tomorrow.”

“Just the try outs huh? When does the actual tournament start?” The dwarf shrugged his shoulders.

“Don’t know. But if you wish to enter, I’ll make sure your sword is ready before the actual tournament.” Gallahon and the others bid their adios and walked up the stairs and out of the blacksmith’s shop. All four of them headed down the road some to the tavern the dwarf told them about. It had begun to rain. Overhead was a sign that symbolizes a drunk dragon holding a mug. Next to the picture were the words ’The Drunken’ Dragon Tavern’. Gallahon and the others had entered the tavern and out of the rain. The tavern was a little noisy and full of people who appear to be having a good time eating and getting drunk. Over in the corner of the tavern was a flute player and also a lute player playing music and singing. Gallahon and the three others had to walk down eight steps before going to the counter in the middle of the tavern. Next to the counter was a pack of stairs going up. It was a two story building.

“Hello. Excuse me?” Said Gallahon. A big, rounded man with a scruffy red beard and a full head of red hair came to the counter. He appeared to be wearing an apron so they knew he was the owner.

“Good evening.” he said in a kind of a deep voice but not too deep. He sounded to be Irish.

“Welcome to ’the Drunken’ Dragon’. We have some nice cozy beds upstairs if you choose to sleep the night Mr. Um…”

“Darkoss.” Gallahon introduced himself. “My name is Gallahon Darkoss.”

“Then you must be the son of General Darkoss.” the barkeep pointed out. “He is famous around here. This was his favorite hangout spot right here at the drunken dragon. Tell you what. If you four are hungry, I’ll serve you a free meal, on the house.” They were over joyed. They have not had a decent, hot meal in a while.

“Yes please. I thank you bar keep.”

“Call me Alroy.” he had said. After Gallahon and Alroy had introduced themselves, the four had chosen a table to sit at. The four had sat, enjoying what they could hear of the music that was playing. The soft sound of the lute combined with the flute and singing really calmed the place down.

“All alone we’re gathered in fear.” were the lyrics that the man with the lute was singing. Alroy had brought out food and drinks to Gallahon and his friends. The four had chowed down on their meals and slurped up their drinks as they’ve listened to the calming music.

“Welcome to the night to grief and sorrow. Where the fire of life shrines so bright. And we crave for the morning. Farewell to the light where oblivion reigns. The streams of time.” Listening to the song being sung, Gallahon knew what King Erloc was doing to these people. The people feared him, but at the same time they have come to respect him as if he was their own king.

“All alone we’re gathered in fear.” Gallahon thought to himself.

“The dwarf said that Erloc is holding a jousting tournament. Try outs begin tomorrow morning. I’ll need a disguise so he doesn’t recognize me.”

After hours of eating, drinking and listening to music, the four had gone upstairs where Alroy said they had the beds at. The rooms were small but could fit a crowd of people. The beds were already made nice and neat. The three were asleep except for Gallahon who just sat on the window ledge with one knee up and looking out at the night sky. Aquanna noticed that he was up and went over to him.

“Gallahon?” Gallahon looked at Aquanna. “What’s the matter?” She sat on the window ledge across from him.

“Just thinking.” He looked back up at the sky. “If Erloc thinks he can get away with this he’s wrong. He banished us to the desert, but we’ve survived. He had his servant put us in a labyrinth yet even that didn’t stop us. Erloc thinks he can stop me from getting my revenge? He’d better think twice.” Aquanna reached for Gallahon’s hands and held them. Gallahon looked back at Aquanna. “I am ready. I have been ready to go face to face with Erloc. Ever since he killed my father and when I was old enough to wield a blade. As soon as my sword gets fixed, it’s going straight through his blackened heart.”

“I am worried though Gallahon. Erloc is more powerful than you think. I’m worried you’re going to die.”

“Erloc is a coward, he wouldn’t even face me himself before. He has no idea what I am capable of.” Gallahon gripped Aquanna’s hands tightly. “I will have my vengeance and set these people free from Erloc’s tyrannies. Erloc will die by my sword and I shall return Psygon to his throne.”

“But King Psygon is dead.” Aquanna thought.

“No. He is still alive Aquanna. Being held in his own dungeon.”

“How do you know this?”

“Before I left my home in Crystal rock, Psygon contacted me from the spirit world. And he contacted me again while inside the labyrinth. He told me where he was being held. Everyone else thinks that he’s dead. But what they don’t know is that it’s almost impossible to kill an elf.”

“But what if Erloc kills you? I cannot bear the thought of losing you.”

“Like I said Aquanna. Erloc has no idea what I am capable of. He’ll…” Aquanna silenced him as she kissed his lips. Aquanna pulled away. Gallahon then placed his hand on her cheek. Gallahon had kissed Aquanna back. Both of them had their eyes shut as they’ve enjoyed kissing each other. Gallahon and Aquanna wrapped their arms around each other as they’ve kissed.

The next morning, Gallahon and his friends had arrived at the try outs for the jousting tournament. A line of about twenty people wanting to try out for the tournament. Trenton and the others had found a full set of armor for Gallahon to wear. Trenton, Nina and Aquanna also had disguises on.

“Next please!” the person sitting at the table in front of the line said. He was filling in all the names of the people signing up for the tournament.

“Name?”

“Arthur Blade.” Gallahon lied. “These three are with me.” The tall, dark cloaked man was with the man signing people up for the tournament. He could almost see Gallahon through his disguise but wasn’t sure.

“Go ahead.” As Gallahon walked away to try out the dark cloaked man had stopped him.

“Hold it!” He walked up to Gallahon. “Do I know you?”

“Um, no I believe you do not.”

“Let me see your face.” Sweat was dripping down Gallahon’s face as if he did not know what to do. If Erloc’s dark summoner knew it was him, Gallahon’s plan will be ruined.

“Sir!” A man came running towards the dark summoner, perfect timing too.

“What is it?” He shouted.

“King Erloc requests your presence.” The dark summoner turned back to Gallahon.

“My apologize, we’ll have to get to know each other some other time. Now if you’ll excuse me Mr. Blade, I have important matters in which I must attend too.” The dark summoner left. Gallahon was relieved. His plan was still in action. The try outs have begun. There were a max of twenty people signed up for the jousting tournament. The first person to try out was a skinny man covered in steel armor. Gallahon stood there watching with his friends to see how jousting works, for Gallahon had never joust before. The man got up on his horse. They have armed him with a shield and lance. These were only the try outs so across from the man was a wooden dummy on a horse.

He had to try to knock the dummy off the horse with his lance. The two horses charged at each other. As soon as the two horses were close enough, the man thrust his lance and knocked the dummy off.

“That looks pretty easy.” Gallahon had said.

“Don’t be too sure of yourself.” A man said to Gallahon. “It may look easy, but if you tried it out for yourself it’s difficult. Follow me, I’ll show you.” Gallahon and his friends had followed the man. Gallahon had got up onto the horse. The man handed Gallahon his shield and lance.

“We’re going to start you off slow. See that dummy over there?” The man pointed at the dummy. But Trenton was in the way.

“You, elf boy, get out of the way.”

“Oh sorry.” Trenton had moved.

“Now, I want you to knock down that dummy with your lance, got it?” Gallahon had understood the instructions given to him. Gallahon’s horse charged towards the dummy. Gallahon readied his lance. The lance hit the dummy, but knocked Gallahon off the horse onto the ground. The others rushed towards him to help him up.

“This armor is so damn heavy; I can’t get up!” Trenton and Nina helped him up. The man looked at Gallahon, shaking his head left and right.

“Tisk. Does not surprise me though. Most people like you do not get it on the first try.”

“Let me try again.” Gallahon repeated his steps. He got on the horse, readied his lance and shield. The horse charged, but Gallahon fell off the horse again when his lance hit the dummy.

“Dammit!” The man walked over to him, laughing to himself. He bent over Gallahon.

“Tell you what. As much as I love to see you fall, I’m going to give you one last try.” He helped Gallahon up. Gallahon was relieved that the man was kind enough to give him one last try. Gallahon climbed up on his horse. The man handed Gallahon the shield and lance. Gallahon relaxed. He readied his lance. The horse charged at the dummy. Gallahon’s lance hit the dummy and the dummy got knocked over this time instead of Gallahon. The others were impressed.

“Third times the charm.” The man said. “But now let’s see how you fair up to moving targets.”

After hours and hours of joust training, Gallahon and the others headed to the blacksmith shop to check up on Gallahon’s sword. The door to the blacksmith shop was opened just slightly so they’ve let themselves in.

“Trenton! Please you and your friends come in.” said the Scottish dwarf. “What can this young dwarf do for you today?” he joked.

“We just want to check up on Gallahon’s sword.” Trenton asked.

“Ah yes, Gallahon’s sword is nearing completion. Please follow me.” They have followed the dwarf to the basement where he kept the forge.

“I need it to be ready before the tournament.” Gallahon had told him.

“Now don’t get hasty master Gallahon. Crafting a weapon is not easy it takes time.”

“The tournament is in two days.”

“Perfect! And we will have it ready by then. I know you’re going to the tournament to do battle with the king and kill him right?” Gallahon was in awe.

“How did you…”

“How did I know? Well someone has too. I can see in your eyes that you want to kill Erloc. Erloc is ruling this land by fear. The people fear him, but at the same time they respect him. Someone needs to put a stop to that tyrant. Gallahon, if you would follow me. I want to give you something.” Gallahon had followed the dwarf’s orders and followed him. The dwarf had lead Gallahon to his personal armory. The room was filled with different coats of armor and weaponry. The dwarf had stopped in front of a wardrobe. He opened it and grabbed something.

“Take a look at this pretty thing.” The dwarf had shown Gallahon a special type of chain mail armor. “This is mithril. It is light as a feather. But as hard as dragon scales. It is yours. Surly this will aid you in your battle with Erloc.” Gallahon gladly accepted the gift.

“Thank you master dwarf. This is a kingly gift.”

“Now you and your friends better get going and get your rest before the tournament. Your sword will be ready in time for the tournament, don’t you worry.”

Two days have passed and Gallahon has his sword. Just in time for the jousting tournament to begin. King Erloc was observing the tournament from the balcony of Psygon’s castle. The crowd of people, sitting on the benches enjoying their free meals and cheering as the jousters jousted. Gallahon could see King Erloc on the balcony of his brother’s castle.

“There he is. But how can I get up there?”

“Just be patient Gallahon.” Advised Trenton. Erloc’s son Airloc, was on his father’s side along with the dark summoner. Airloc saw Gallahon down below with the corner of his eye but Airloc did not know it was Gallahon because of his disguise. After hours of the tournament, it was finally Gallahon’s turn.

“Next jouster is Sir Arthur Blade!”

“Arthur Blade?” questioned Erloc. “That’s an interesting name.” Gallahon got onto his horse. Nina handed her brother his shield and lance.

“Be careful brother. Keep your eye on the target moving towards you, pay no attention to Erloc.”

“Ok sister.”

“One more thing. I know I don’t say this much. But in case this is the last I’ll see of you. I love you brother.” Gallahon looked down at Nina.

“I love you too sister.” Across from Gallahon was a man on horseback in all black armor armed with shield and lance. They stared each other down. The horns blew and the horses charged at each other. Both Gallahon and the black armored man ready their lances. The man thrust his lance a bit too early and Gallahon managed to knock the black armored man down. The crowd cheered as Gallahon was victorious. But this was only the first round.

“Arthur Blade is the winner of this round!” Said the announcer. “He just needs to complete three more passes.” Both the competitors’ horses looped around for another pass. The horns blew and the horses charged full speed. They both readied their lances. Gallahon swung and broke the black armored man’s lance. The crowd cheered. The horses looped around.

“Onto the third pass. The horns blow and the horses charge!” As the horses came at each other, Gallahon swung but missed. The man’s lance hit the tip of Gallahon’s lance.

“Oh, Arthur Blade lost that round. If Blade gets one more lose, it would be a tie and then they’ll have to settle with swords to see who the winner will be.” The horses looped around for one last pass. Both Gallahon and the black armored man stared each other down. The horns blew and the horses charged one last time. They both readied their lances. Gallahon swung but missed. The man thrust and knocked Gallahon off the horse.

“It is a tie! It is onto the swords!” The crowd cheered. It was the moment of truth. A sword fight to declare the winner of the tournament. Both the competitors drew their swords. Gallahon reached for his sword he kept in the sheath on his back. Gallahon’s hilt of his sword was still in the shape of an X but the blade was a different shape. It had curved straight down to the point. Erloc stood up.

“That’s the X-Caliber sword. It’s Gallahon in that armor.”

“What, Gallahon? Are you sure mi lord?”

“I’m not positive, but I’m sure of it.” Gallahon and the black armored man circled around each other. The black armored man charged in with his sword. Gallahon blocked with his sword. The man swung again, but Gallahon blocked. He shoved Gallahon down. The man threw his sword to the ground but Gallahon rolled aside and got up. The man swung his sword but Gallahon jumped back. He swung again but Gallahon blocked. They both tried to shove each other down with their shields. The man was strong but Gallahon would not go down. Gallahon managed to shove the man down. As the man was down, Gallahon seized his blade at the man’s neck.

“We have a winner!” The crowd cheered on. Gallahon was basking in his victory. The man grabbed his sword. He crept up behind Gallahon and cut off the straps of his armor. Gallahon’s armor fell off.

“IT IS HIM!” Erloc shouted. “SEIZE HIM!” More of the Draconian creatures came out onto the courtyard and surrounded Gallahon with spears. Gallahon turned to face Erloc and took off his helmet.

“What’s the matter Erloc? Too scared to fight me?”

“You should know Gallahon that you cannot beat me.”

“How about you prove it.” Erloc raised his voice.

“ENOUGH! I grow tired of your insolence! Silence him!” As the Draconians thrust their spears, Gallahon ducked and the Draconians impaled each other with their spears and killed each other. Erloc slapped his hand on his fore head. “Idiots.”

“Come on Erloc, I’m waiting.” Gallahon taunted him.

“I’ll silence his tongue mi lord.” the dark summoner had told Erloc. He levitated off the castle balcony and onto the ground of the courtyard. Now that Gallahon’s identity is revealed, Trenton, Aquanna and his sister decided to help Gallahon with the fight.

“Four against one?” The dark summoner questioned. “Where’s the honor in that?” Erloc ran inside the castle.

“Gallahon.” said Trenton. “You go after Erloc. We’ll take care of this guy.” Trenton used his powers to levitate Gallahon onto the castle balcony. The dark summoner opened a portal and summoned three monsters to his aid. Airloc stopped Gallahon from getting into the castle.

“Out of my way Airloc.” Airloc unsheathed his swords.

“No. You have to get past me.” Airloc came charging. Gallahon thought quickly. He ducked and flipped Airloc over the balcony. Airloc was flung into the dark summoner’s portal.

“Well, that takes care of him.” Gallahon said. With Airloc gone, Gallahon ran inside the castle to find Erloc.

“Come on this way Gallahon. Ha ha.” Erloc ran towards the dungeons and Gallahon ran after him. Erloc ran through the halls of the dungeon. Gallahon followed. Gallahon came across King Psygon’s cell.

“King Psygon, you’re still alive.”

“Yes Gallahon. I am glad you made it. Free me.” Gallahon pulled a lock pick from his pocket and tried to lock pick his cell door opened. At the end of the dungeon hall, Erloc ran into another hall that lead into a cavern.

“Gallahon go, I’ll take it from here.” Gallahon left to chase Erloc down.

“Be careful, he’s leading you into a trap!” But Gallahon did not listen. Gallahon chased Erloc down into a dark cavern. The cavern was long and dark and went on for miles. Where ever Erloc was leading him it couldn’t be good. Gallahon could see a reddish orange light at the end of the tunnel. Gallahon ran for the light. Gallahon found himself inside another cavern with lava pits down below. Erloc was standing in front of him with his back turned and arms crossed. Gallahon pointed his sword towards him.

“It is over your highness. Turn and face my blade!” Erloc turned to face him, laughing sinisterly.

“Oh Gallahon. The day that I killed your father seven years ago was the greatest triumph in my days. And now I get to kill his son. How did it feel Gallahon? To be raised without a father?” Gallahon was silent. “Because that’s what happened to me. It was just me, my brother and mother. My brother and I were separated. We were both born on Windfall though. My brother Psygon was adopted and stayed on Windfall while my mother shipped me to a different country. Because when they saw my skin color, they were afraid. They thought I was a thing and not a human being.

“But a man named Alvatourix decided to take me in and raise me as one of his own. He was a warlord. He taught me everything about being a warlord. When I was a full grown man, I’ve spent years ruling by Alvatourix’s side, taking over country after country. And when I was older, island after island. That’s when I’ve decided to take my vengeance by taking over Windfall and locking my brother up. But enough about me. I want you to meet a new friend of mine.” Something had shaken the ground beneath Gallahon’s legs, but it was no earthquake.

A man standing about forty feet tall stepped forward aside of King Erloc. The forty-foot man was wearing what looked like a blacksmith’s apron around his waist. His skin was a pinkish color, looked like he was lightly burnt. His face was deformed a bit and had a birthmark over his eye which looked like fire.

“This is Vulcan, a fire god. I found him in this cavern where my brother’s castle leads to. Vulcan, do me a favor and crush him.” Vulcan said nothing. He pounded his foot to the ground, trying to stomp on Gallahon but Gallahon just kept running.

“Coward! You relay on a god to do your battles for you?” Gallahon stopped in front of the ledge. He did not want to fall in the lava pits below. Erloc grabbed his ball and chain and charged at Gallahon. Vulcan stood in front of Gallahon. As Erloc swung his spiked ball, Gallahon ducked and ran between Vulcan’s legs. Vulcan turned to face Gallahon. Gallahon did not know what to do, he had never fought a forty-foot-tall god before. Gallahon thought fast. He noticed that there was a hook and chain hanging from the ceiling.

As Vulcan plunged his foot down Gallahon ran. Erloc charged at Gallahon with his ball and chain. Erloc swung his spiked ball but missed as Gallahon climbed up the wall. Vulcan reached for Gallahon, but Gallahon leaped off the wall onto Vulcan’s arm and ran up his arm. Vulcan tried to flick Gallahon off but Gallahon was too fast. When Vulcan’s arm was on his other arm, Gallahon climbed up onto Vulcan’s other arm. Gallahon ran up and onto the upper level of the cavern.

Vulcan punched the wall trying to shake Gallahon off. Gallahon ran across the upper level to where the hook was. Vulcan tried to pull Gallahon off but he was too fast. Gallahon made it to the hook. He pushed the hook with his feet. The hook was pushed off the ledge and bashed Vulcan in the face. Vulcan stumbled back. He lost his balance when his foot was on the ledge. Vulcan fell in the lava pits and bashed his head against the rock wall. But Vulcan was a fire god so he could stand in the lava but he was out for a while. Gallahon made his way down to where Erloc was.

“Impressive Gallahon.” Erloc swung his mace but Gallahon blocked with his shield. Erloc swung again but Gallahon ducked. Erloc swung one last time and the chain wrapped around Gallahon’s blade. Erloc tried to yank Gallahon’s sword away, but Gallahon had a tight grip on his sword. Instead, Gallahon managed to yank Erloc’s ball and chain away. Erloc then unsheathed his sword and charged at Gallahon. Gallahon’s blade locked onto Erloc’s sword. Gallahon and Erloc showed each other’s mastery of the sword. Erloc swung hard but missed Gallahon horribly. Erloc swung down and Gallahon blocked with his shield. Gallahon then gave Erloc a whack with his shield which he put some extra force behind. Erloc looked back at Gallahon and thrust his blade forward. Gallahon stepped aside as Erloc’s blade screeched across Gallahon’s blade. Gallahon kicked Erloc back.

Erloc was not about to lose. He locked his blade onto Gallahon’s as Erloc pushed Gallahon back towards a wall. Gallahon was sandwiched between Erloc and the wall. As Gallahon swung, Erloc took his foot and kicked Gallahon’s arm onto the wall. Gallahon’s friends came into the cavern with Psygon. Erloc thrust his blade and stabbed Gallahon in the chest. Gallahon’s friends and Psygon were shocked. Erloc stared into Gallahon’s eyes in a sinister look. Erloc pulled his sword out of Gallahon’s chest as Gallahon fell to the ground.

Trenton, Aquanna and Nina ran towards Gallahon’s body as Psygon charged for Erloc. Erloc saw Psygon charging and locked blades with his brother. The fight was still going on as Nina fell to her knees and sobbed over Gallahon’s body with Trenton and Aquanna behind her. Aquanna sobbed into Trenton’s chest and Trenton had tears roll down his cheeks.

“Your champion failed Psygon.” Erloc told his brother. “What will you do now?” Psygon was silent. “Will you find another champion so I may slay him too?”

“You will die for this brother!” Erloc and Psygon showed each other their mastery of the sword. Erloc stood near the ledge but was careful not to fall. As Psygon was waving his sword, Erloc blocked every blow. Erloc then hit Psygon’s sword right out of his hand. Erloc seized his blade at Psygon’s neck.

“Well well brother. It looks like I win again. This land belongs to me. But not for long. Because once I’ve had my fun, I’ll destroy your precious kingdom you call Windfall and move onto Lake Island. And so on. What’s say you to that?” As Erloc was basking in his victory, a blade came charging in and impaled Erloc right in the heart.

“I say you won’t live at all to see it happen.” Erloc looked up and saw Gallahon with his blade through Erloc’s heart. Psygon took Erloc’s crown and Gallahon pulled his blade out of Erloc’s chest. Erloc’s body fell down into the lava. They’ve watched as Erloc’s body sank into the lava. Erloc’s tyranny was finally over. The three had joined Gallahon’s side.

“Gallahon! We all thought you were dead!” Aquanna said as she hugged him. “Gallahon, your chest feels rough.” Aquanna pulled away. Gallahon opened his shirt just enough to reveal the mithril that he was wearing.

“Mithril.” Trenton was in awe.

“Compliment from the blacksmith.” Gallahon had said.

“Such a kingly gift.” Trenton complimented. The five of them had left the caverns.

The next day there was ceremony to honor the four heroes and the return of King Psygon to his rightful throne. A huge crowd of people filled Psygon’s throne room to honor the four heroes of Windfall.

“These four brave heroes: Gallahon Darkoss, Nina Darkoss, Trenton Elvinwood and Aquanna Waters have slain thy evil tyrant King Erloc and have returned me to my throne.” The crowd cheered loud. Psygon had grabbed a piece of golden armor and presented it to Gallahon.

“Gallahon Darkoss. For your brave deeds and courageous effort, I present to you this golden heroes armor. Forged by Vulcan himself. This armor can repair itself if damaged. And no mortal weapon can penetrate the armor. And I give you four the title of Kings Heroes.” The crowd cheered loud once again.

“And these medals. Gallahon, the medal of courage. Trenton, the medal of strength. Aquanna, the medal of wisdom. And Nina, the medal of skill.” They each bowed down as they’ve earned their medals. After earning their medals, they all turned and basked in their victory as the crowd cheered on.

A celebration took place after the ceremony. There was food, drinks and music. Everybody was dancing like fools and having a good time. Psygon came up to Gallahon and placed his hand on his shoulder. Gallahon looked at Psygon.

“Your father is smiling upon you Gallahon. He would be very proud of you.”

“Thank you mi lord.” Gallahon smiled. He looked back, observing the people dancing all around, celebrating.
