I watched as Alex grabbed her around the waist as if he was her mate. If I could, I would have punched myself because the jealousy that came over me was enough to take out an army of wolves. I watched how she looked at him with so much affection, so much… longing. She had a letter in her hand, fuck it if she was giving Alex a lover letter.
I should have just walked away and gone on to the class I needed to be in, but I stayed until Alex left. I noticed Ryan take his position as a bodyguard. He lingered with the other betas who waited for the omegas to finish their work. Everything was calm and I felt good enough to leave her there. That was until Collins rolled his shoulders back and with the aid of his stupid friends walked over to where Gabbie was quickly raking up leaves.

My wolf was put into kill mode when he laid his hands on her. Collins laid his fucking hands on my mate. Every plan that came into my head resulted in death. His death. I couldn’t do that without the world knowing my mate was an omega. Pride swelled in me when she slapped Collins, looked like she came off worse. Gabbie was different, she was strong. I didn’t want to give myself delusions about us, but I was feeding the fire every chance I could.
Ryan was about to step in when Collins picked her up and pinned her against the tree. I swear if the fucker didn’t let her go I was going to rip his arms off. I groaned. This was getting out of hand. Ryan held back on stepping in. I wasn’t just going to watch. He won’t be able to handle her and this won’t be the last time the little panda gets herself into shit.
“You didn’t hear what he said,” Gabbie struggled as I dragged her along the path that led to the outskirts of the academy. Where the omega quarters were, but we weren’t going there.
It was true I didn’t hear what Collins said.
“Oh, yeah what did he say?” I asked over my shoulder.
“He said I made a good slut! I didn’t mean to hit him, but it was a pretty crappy thing for him to
say too.
My jaw clenched and my grip around her wrist tightened. I’d deal with him later.
“Ouch! Kade.” She winced and yanked her arms free. I hadn’t realized I squeezed too tight.
She stopped and I turned to her. She wouldn’t run.
“What are you going to do to me?”
Her eyes were like stone and her lips were like a soft pink rose in bloom. I wanted to cover them with my own. My wolf was spurring me on as if that wouldn’t have major complications. She held her arms together. I saw her tremble.
Why was she scared? Was she afraid of me?
I took a step closer to her. It must have urged me on that she didn’t step back.

“Are you scared?”
“What?” she frowned..
I fought a smirk.
“Are you scared of me?”
“No.
“Then why are you trembling Gabbie?”

She shook her head before she met my gaze again. “I was pinned to a tree by a crazy wolf who then wanted to choke me. Isn’t that enough?”
I wanted to tell her that I wouldn’t let that happen. I wanted to assure her I wouldn’t let anyone hurt her. The words just wouldn’t spill. Gabbie couldn’t know what we shared. I just didn’t know how long I was going to keep this up,
“What are you going to do to me, Kade?” She asked, anger and frustration dripping from her
voice.
I smirked. She looked up at me, her arms tightly wrapped around herself. I inched closer.
I saw her swallow.
I wanted to be the one to have my hands around her throat. Gabbie didn’t back down. It made me hard. She parted her lips and my erection burned in my jeans. Fuck.
“First of all,” I said through clenched teeth. “You’re going to address me the right way.”
My hand pressed against the small of her back and shoved her against my chest. Her eyes widened for a second. I grabbed her cheek and before we knew what was happening my lips were covering hers. Now I knew what fireworks felt like. I wrapped her in my arms. Her struggle lasted for a second before she melted into me. Her lips were as soft as I imagined they would be. I traced the line of her lips with my tongue. I wanted to part her teeth so I could explore her further. She wouldn’t let me. It was like she turned on and started to bang against my chest.
Like ripping atoms apart, I pulled away. I seized her wrists before she got any funny ideas about slapping me. I pinned her fists to my chest.
“You’re not going to hit me,” I said.
“You deserve it! Why would you do that?!”
“What?” I arched a brow.
Shit, I shouldn’t have. Now that I had a taste, how was I going to stay away?
“You kissed me! That was…ugh. Let me go.”

“I didn’t say that! Ugh, wolves.” She looked away.

I wanted to grab her and bring her body back to mine. She left a stain of her warmth on me.
“Why?”
“I should be asking you that Kade.” She snapped.
“Why hasn’t anyone kissed you yet? Where the hell were you living? Under a rock?”
Not that I didn’t like that I claimed her lips first, but I didn’t understand how any wolf or man would let her go untouched. She pushed her hair behind her ears before wrapping her arms around herself. Fuck. This girl would ruin me. I couldn’t let her have control over me. She was Henry’s pack and worse she was an omega without a wolf. We should never happen. Still, I hated seeing her vulnerable. I didn’t want anyone to touch her or even look at her. She was mine and I wanted to destroy something.
“No one wants a mate without a wolf. She said, her voice was small that it cracked a part
of me.
This girl wasn’t going to ruin me. She wasn’t going to complicate things for me. I had battle season in a few months and I had a score to settle with her best friend. I would mark Harlow again if I had to, but Gabriella Chambers didn’t have a spot in my life.
I grinned, “You’ve got that right.”
Her eyes widened, but I didn’t stay to catch the rest of her outburst. I brushed past her and kept walking without as much as a word.
I ran a hand through my hair. The Alpha castle was buzzing. I didn’t care. I had one mission and that was to find Harlow and mark her again. I wondered if she noticed her mark was going. I wouldn’t explain what happened. She didn’t have to know the moon goddess had given me another mate. This could go without any bloodshed.
“Where’s Harlow?” I asked Ace.
He nodded at the kitchen. I needed to get Gabriella Chambers out of my head and off my skin. If she could transfer it wouldn’t hurt at all. My wolf thought otherwise.
“Alex won’t let me touch the little bitch!” Leiah spat.
I grounded to a halt. I didn’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out she was talking about Gabbie. She wasn’t any of my business, but I wanted to know what Leiah was planning.
“Alex wouldn’t reject you for her would he?” Eva asked.
“Reject me? Hell no. I’d cut his balls off first. He just threatened me. I forget how powerful an Alpha Alex is sometimes.”
“He said you can’t doesn’t mean we can’t do anything to her,” Harlow said.

Damn it, I thought.
“Uhh, I like the way you think.”
“I can’t stand the little slut either. She has no idea who she’s messing with. An omega without a wolf has no place in the pack or this school. Freaking hate her.”
“Sounds like you hate her more than I do.”
Harlow scowled. “I don’t give a damn about her. I don’t like the way she walked in here as if she’s somebody, but she’s just a girl without a wolf. She doesn’t belong here.”
-She needs to be broken that’s it. She needs to learn to keep her head down permanently like the rest of the omegas”
“Do you really think she’s involved with Alex?” Eva asked.
That piqued my interest further.
“Ugh, I don’t know. I just don’t want him near her. She’s too comfortable around him. Alex would never leave me for her. He’s an Alpha for crying out loud.”
“Alright then, what’s your plan?” Eva asked.
“We’ll talk about it later. Don’t need anyone hearing about it,” Leiah said she chose that moment to lower her voice.
I straightened my back and walked in. Not that the girls would care if I heard their scheme. As far as they knew I didn’t care about the omega. Harlow perked up. Normally she sensed when I was around. Damn, our bond was really gone.
“Kade.” Leiah frowned.
I looked at Harlow, “Got a sec?”
She nodded quickly, “Of course. Later girls.”
I walked her out of the kitchen until we got outside to the afternoon heat. I searched for her mark. It was plain under the sun that it was not there. She stared at me expectantly. All I had to do was mark her again. It wouldn’t take a second to do. I couldn’t do it. My muscles wouldn’t comply.
“What’s wrong Kade?”
“Uh…” I raked my fingers through my hair.
“Spit it out!”
“You know what, never mind.” I brushed passed her. Marking her would have to wait.
She growled and cursed, but I wasn’t going back. I needed to think.
